  1. Brown Farm sell the gates under the trade namne 'Katojl'. Central sell them under the name 'Lindam'. They are exactly the same product, though the prices can vary greatly. Most Thai stairways/doorways are greater than the standard offering. Brown Farm were the best price to buy the gates at last year, but Central had the extensions to make them big enough. Just different product names.

  2. I have flu at the moment! But, I would say just a regular strain of flu. Friday I was around the airport for a while waiting for my bf's kids to come back for a trip. I laughed at him for being too serious about the mask wearing. He went outside to get them, i waited just outside (didnt have a mask with me and he thought it better i dont go in). Maybe thats too short a time to have caught a bug at the airport as i started to feel unwell on the Friday night/sat morning. Yesterday I slept a lot, today feel pretty weak. My point is, that I learned my lesson about laughing at my bf for being careful regarding wearing a mask. This has given me a bit of a fright! :) So..be careful guys, good idea to wear at least wear a mask in crowded places.

Btw..the news the other day mentioned that most of the fatal instances of H1N1 happened to people who were obese (immunity issues???) Im sorry, i dont recall the exact details as i wasnt feeling so good. But, if you are in that category, I think best to be extra careful, as seems your system may have more problems defending against the virus.

The masks will not stop you catching flu. They are designerd to be worn by those with flu to try and minimise the spread of germs through coughing and breathing.

  3. Sand Creek Massacre was when Colonel Chivington and his "bloody third" regiment savagely killed and mutilated 150 to 400 Cheyenne (and Arapahoe I believe) Indians, mostly women, children and the elderly. They then proceeded to parade back into Denver displaying the genitalia (among other displays of "conquest") on their hats, saddles and sticks. A significant event in the genocide of the American Indians. Any indigenous person, US citizen (with a proper education) and anyone who values human rights should be offended by this name. Though I guess you could argue it is an arbitrary name to describe the course. In my opinion it's an insensitive choice. I would never go to a place with this name. Just my two cents to add to the general nitpicking of TV.

Ok. but I guess this would not be taught outside of US schools. Certainly was not in the UK, nor I expect in Thailand.

  4. Well, it's here again the greatest cricket tournament in the world, The Ashes.

Forget, colourful clown outfits, one dayers or American style 20/20 slugfests, this is REAL cricket, where tickles down to fine leg and driving through the covers will show what REAL cricket is all about.....and REAL cricketing colours will be worn (White). I'm really looking forward to sharing some banter with my many Aussie pals, who are already trembling at the thought of not having McGrath to tie up one end whilst Warne creates havoc from the other....it's going to be GREAT...it always is, regardless of who wins.

So, where are people going to watch it?

Who is showing all 5 tests?

Is anyone giving a special on beers for The Ashes series...they do in UK and Oz?

Just enjoyed the first day's coverage from Sky on WETV. Great stuff.

Are WETV now broadcasting SKY Sports? When I had WETV it was only the South African Super Sports they showed. Would good be good to know if it is SKY, as there are a few sports Super Sports do not broadcast.

  5. I was just wondering if anyone knew to what extent we will see the eclipse here in Chiang Mai?

To me it looks like occuring 7am ish on the morning of the 22nd for around 6 minutes and being about a 70% eclipse here in Chiang Mai. I am prepared and expecting to be corrected on this.

Anyone know of the best viewing point assuming no cloud cover? I was in London for the partial eclipse in 1999, that day it was very cloudy and it was very eyrie.

Lastly, is there a cheap / easy option to go somewhere to experience the total eclipse?

    Thanks

  6. Here you go Uptheos and all other cricket fans - throughout the series play the Tuskers Ashes Predictor Competition and get up to 30% off.

    Here's how it works

Watch a whole session of play and qualify for 10% off food and drink purchased during that session

Predict the number of wickets TAKEN during the session and win 10% off food and drink purchased during that session

Predict the number of runs scored during the session and win 10% off food and drink purchased during that session (ten run blocks not the exact number!)

    Howzat?

  7. For tests its....

    The rules...

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.

Each man that's in the side that's in goes out and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out.

When they are all out the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in out.

Sometimes you get men still in and not out.

When both sides have been in and out twice including the not outs, THAT'S THE END OF THE GAME!

    Simple really. :)

Lets not try and confuse anyone!

  8. I signed up for Multichoice from NSS (North Star Sat) in March 2007. 19k installed. To date works well, though did lose coverage in a very heavy storm last year, but that lasted for only 15 minutes.

Never had to input any codes yet. wouldnt know how!

Multichoice is really best for sports, but does have Sky, BBC World and CNN news. Movies are usually a year or more old.

  9. Initially thought this could be due to 'The Dukes' being a new sponsor, but 'Meals on Wheels' are also a sponsor and deliver from a whole host of restaurants, which I therefore assume we can mention?

So here goes, Mrs and I had a great curry delivered from Hinlay last night and the baby had a kids meal from The Dukes! Great delivery from 2 restaurants and both meels still hot. Well done Meals on Wheels.

How is Hinlay's on the 'grease factor'?

I ordered via MOW food from Star of India, totally inedible and the contents of the bags were half 'something' and half grease. :)

Hinlay is the best curry I have had in Chiang Mai. No 'grease' problem, and we had lunch there Friday, take away yesterday.

  10. <deleted> etc

The CM forum has NO food related topics on page one at all! Has everyone died and gone to food heaven,

or all to busy out and about eating?
