Hi all this is my first non 'o' based on marriage got the visa in uk says must be utilized before 1 sep 2009 so is that the last date i can do a border run or do i keep doing the 90 days i have now date i arrived in Thailand was 21st oct 2008 because heard they are good for 15 months any help regards Jim....

Is their any set time do hand in the Birth Cerificate because a French mate of mine only had 30 days from birth?

Had the same problem at a TMI bank would only let me take out 2500 but went down the street to kasikorn bank and took out 15000 no problem was using UK flex account....

Hi a question to people who have built around Chiang Rai looking to build a 1 floor house about 160 square metres question, is it better to agree a price for the house or pay a rate by day or week to the builders ?

Just be careful when transfering money using the hsbc online transfer I sent some money over to Bangkok bank was charged the 15.00 pounds then was also charged 20.00 pounds from Bangkok bank phoned hsbc they said I had ticked some box to pay all fees so make sure you check before sending.

Just got paper work and passport back with new visa so can relax now for 2 more years if you are applying for flr make sure you have lots of evidence.

Also send a covering letter why you are claiming for flr because they will want to know.

The letters I have sent to date are in both are names some nhs, dentist wifes ISA statements etc but most are bank statements from our joint bank account for the 2 year period sent some more bank statements yesterday will keep you posted thanks Jim.

I am British ,Thai wife.

Applyed for flr last month because she is not ready for the life in UK test 2 weeks later got a letter saying we needed documents for my wage slips,council tax bill,further documentary for evidence from april 2006 to march 2008 for me and my wife sent more bank statements etc couldnt show council tax bill because we live with parents sent letter stating this and sent my wage slips.

One week later another letter just stating further documentary evidence from 2006 to 2008 for both of us needed dont know want to send to help them dont have any more with my wifes name on! have sent over 50 letters to date with her name and mine any help..

Hi thanks for fast reply will be stopping in northen Thailand near Chiang Rai so could I just do 2 border runs and not bother with a visa or extension mainly wanted too know if their would be any problems with leaving the UK without visa and staying longer than 30 days?

We will be applying for FLR(M) in a couple of months is their a time limit you should have spent in the UK she is currently on a marriage visa but we have been to Thailand a couple of times for a couple of months any help on the matter regards JIM......

We are living in the UK most of the time but spend about 3 or 4 months in Thailand a year my wife is on a marriage visa here and that finishes April next year,we are planning to build in Thailand and move there late next year so dont want to go throught all the trouble with Ilr can we just extend with Flr for another 2 years? any help with this subject web pages etc regards Jim.....

Wife had a look at it shes thinks it says ( yellow 11 2 ) so think its something for your visa class Jim...

We have a settlement visa for the UK and want to visit friends in Switzerland will my wife need a visa??

Just to say thanks to everyone who writes into Thailand Forum it’s a great help when preparing your application was granted visa yesterday after wife’s interview it was just great to see her come out with a smile on her face and a tear in her eye so now we can return to the UK together, special thanks to GU22 and the scouser.

Thanks all for the help,its just i want to make sure i can return to Thailand once a year because we have things here i need to check on and to see my wifes family,and dont want to waste the visa if we get it .

Would like to claim for ltr in the future so we can come and go as we please..
