    Just a quick question if anyone can help.

    If i am successful with a settlement visa for my wife do we have to remain in the UK for 2 years or can we come back to Thailand when we please or will this make her visa void?

    only plan to come back maybe 6 to 8 weeks a year so we can see friends and family.

  2. Providing that you can satisfy the visa officer that you can support yourself and your wife without claiming benefits, then there shouldn't be a problem. The fact that you've not been in the UK since November 04 won't adversely effect your wife's chances of getting the visa.

    Hi thanks for your advice the only thing that worries me is the question about is your sponsor in employment,including self-employment?because when i left the uk i just froze my self-employment and not worked since then?

I will be applying for a settlement visa for my wife at the end of november we met last December and have been living together in Chiang Rai since then,I have all paper work and bank statements etc but have not been in England since November 04 is this going to be a problem? I am also self-employed in England but havent worked much over the last 3 years travelling etc!

    Been married for 3 months now.

    Any help regards Jim...........
