  1. i,am sure it will work too.just like the years before they tried

maybe start implementing the highway rules and laws I believe drinking and driving is against the law in Thailand...

but that would mean the police would have to work!! clap2.gif maybe even STOP drinking themselves drunk.gif and well thats as likely as them stop taking bribes violin.gif LOL gee how they gonne get their new mercedez and big house and send their kids to university??hit-the-fan.gif

that will be the day LOL

  2. not many but most if not all Thais cant drive !

they have no notions of rules of the roads not to mention they have no driving skills they get their driver licences as a prize in a rice box or by showing cash to the so call "officials" who would be stupid enuff to wait ON the teacks at a railroad crossing ???? LOL

<deleted> me it aint rocket science is it, you dont enter the rail area until your exit is clear, unfortunately with the childish I must be first/in front/cant wait selfish attitude here they get what they deserve. Tomorrow it will all happen again, in fact theyll even sit in the crossing eyeing the burnt out wreckage because of course "it weill never happen again".

Many Thais dont know what or how to use a roundabout/island/junction/traffic light so they will have zero ability to undertsand the yellow diagonals which I assume were painted on the road here? That said they dont know in the UK half the time and when you wind down your widnow as you try to cross the blocked road pointing it out you get every name under the sun, thats why im such a "people" person.

Yellow diagonals DO NOT ENTER unless your exit is clear ( in the Uk unless you wish to turn right then its ok)

  4. My wife just tried to get a ticket into, and two out of Thailand. They told her that they currently were not selling any, due to the political situation, but they hoped to be able to next week. Also had been told that the American embassy was closed for the week, but don't know about any other ones.

We're trying to bring her Mom to stay with us in the US for a few months, but we'll have to wait and see what happens first.

well hopefully things will settle soon enough there... the sister inlaw seems quite sure about them stuck there for now....

we making sure they dont bring any red color clothes LOL

    thnks for the answer

  5. You'll probably get better feedback than I can give as people wake up, but that sounds very strange and unlikely to me.

I have a Thai friend due to fly out in a couple of days and the only problem she has is that her passport is stuck in the closed Spanish embassy. July is a long way away yet if thats the problem for her.

thnks hopefully all will be settled by july thnks !

  6. My wife and kids are scheduled to go home in July and we now hearing that with all the troubles other Thais are stuck there and not able to leave the country even if they have other nationality passports....

  7. "fighted" extradition?! Well, I read in the Bangkok Post that he "fought" extradition for 13 years!!! 13 years!!! What is wrong with the court system in Canada?! This guy must have run to Canada with millions of dollars. Must have been able to pay some good attorneys and maybe some judges. Maybe convicted criminals are those charged should quit fleeing to England with all their money and go to Canada instead.

you should care about whats wrong with YOUR system that allow childrens to be execute\d in your barbaric state !!!

but what toe xpect from someone from the land of them Bush!! :)

  8. Sawasdee krab gang !!

Im looking for a Thai band called Bangkok Xylophone Band

fron tman is an ex Boy Thai member I wonder if anyone could rip me a copy or direct me where i could even buy an mp3 copy

I read they just played at the Asian Martial Arts games in bkkk

i found this bit of an article from the nation dated couple years back now:

The former Boy Thai front man is back, pounding away at the ranad with

a new band Three years ago, Chaiyoot Tosa-nga was a household name - the

front man of Boy Thai, the Kingdom's popular "contemporary music" band.

After a lengthy silence, the famous ranad (xylophone) player is back with

a band - aptly named Bangkok Xylophone - and an eponymous debut album.

anyway if anyone knows anything about them pls PM me

    \thnks folks for any help

her name ...hmmm LO Ree Na ???LOL

no wonder the Belges are the butts of the jokes in france heheheh

  10. :o

    funny

I thought the post was about poor people and their misery not about unit of measurement LOL

and as always most of the "help" will end up in the pockets of the not so needy

... e.g. 1 cubic metre = 1000 litres. I am unaware of the term cubic litre.

For all you GWB disciples out there, that's 264.17 gallons (US). Or for those of the Empire, 219.97 gallons (UK)

    PS: journos are journalists

  11. :D @ everyone here:

say good bye to US $, the sooner the better.

    buy

    1. gold and silver (30 to 50% of your liquid means)

    2. austr. $, swiss franc, can. $, euro, jap yen. these may remain relatively stable for a little longer.

    3. buy your own litlle (or large) house and garden. become less dependent on money. take immediate precautions about water, food, good neighborhood.

    upcoming crises not impossible.

US $ financial system will crash and pull the rest of currencies down as well.

there are many reasons for this. mainly US fed printing money large in quantities as helicopter ben has announced years ago. now coming true. reason: US far too much indebted.

best wishes for next few years

any other doom and gloom predictions??? :o

  12. I would be really interested to hear how you make out and the advice you get. I was recently married and am now back in Canada trying to figure out the best prospect.

I am guessing if you go to the Canadian Embassy in Thailand and try for a 6 month visa they will eat you alive, since you are married. Knowing the chances of her coming back are slim and none.

If you did get her to Canada and you were married in Canada, they cannot force her to leave, but she will also not be able to go back to Thailand until she is a permanent resident status approximately 1 year.

    GOOD LUCK

    hey there

i brought my wife and 2 kids to the iceberg last year...

you have to apply from here im pretty sure its more then send her paper to singapore really... well thats part of it anyway

took us 6 months ... but have to round up LOTS of papers... and translate hers to english...

i suggest you get a lawyer here ... she can downlaod forms in Thailand from Immigration site you may want to help her to get it be aware any thing wrong with paperwork will delay everything it all has to be sent at the same time yours and hers.... then they process you... if u accepted as a sponsor then they look at her stuff

my wife was a teacher there so she did lots of the stuff herslf... but she speaks english (teach english there ) we were together for many years (6 years) before we got them here so ours was quite simple to do I used to spend half the year overthere

\you need a translated marriage licence from there too .

embassy has a list of translators...

. anyway message me if you think I can help

    ciao :o

  13. I just wanted to post up on my girlfriends recent experience at the Canadian Embassy.

On Monday she took in her application form and all the supporting documents. She was told to come back the next day for an interview. So on Tuesday she went back to the embassy, and low and behold, she had a visa. No interview was needed.

I thought this process would be much more involved. She quit her job over a year ago, she does not own any property, just owns a new pickup truck. I live and work in Thailand so maybe this helped. She took in alot of documentation and pictures. My mother wrote the letter of invitation for her to come and visit her in Canada, since I am a non resident. The girlfriends bank account had 70,000 baht and showed a history of regular deposits. I wrote a letter stating that I would be responsible for all her expenses and she would have international health care insurance.

I am pleased with the application process and the Canadian embassy after reading about the nightmares that some people have had here in Bangkok.

i had never had a problem with the BKK canadian embassy staff always friendly and all I brought my little tribe wife and 2 kids to Canada (permanent mind you) and we had NO problems at all no interview .. only thing they were a little picky about were pictures!!! and the staff help her with that too so

one thing i noticed in my visit to the embassy was the arrogant dorks seem to always have problems with the embassy LOL :o

  14. Police to be tougher on motorcyclists

(BangkokPost.com) –The police have renewed efforts to get tough on motorcycles and passengers riding pillion who fail to wear safety helmets.

The Metropolitan Police Bureau said motorcyclists who fail to abide by safety regulations will immediately face a 500 baht fine. The fine will be doubled if passengers riding pillion are not wearing a helmet. Police warned the helmet must also be up to internationally accepted standard.

They’re also keeping a close eye on motorcyclists who fail to respect traffic regulations especially those who make a habit out of riding against the traffic flow.

A motorcyclist with more than one passenger riding pillion will have to answer to the police as will those who fail to stop at marked areas at traffic lights.

    ***************

all them laws already exist in Thailand... what they need is to have the cops get off their butts and do impliment them !!! not just use the rules as a extra income grabbing tools... havent you noticed?/ way more road blocks in the countryside toward the end of the month .... need cash to keep all them mistress and payments going LOL
