The 7/11 in Hua Hin near Soi Smorphrong used to have it in stock occasionally as I especially enjoyed the Beer Lao Dark!

Looks like fully vaccinated & boosted tourists are back to paying for 3 expensive RT-PCR Tests in order to enter Thailand....one within 72 hours of flying, one upon arrival, & a third test 7 days later! What's wrong with utilizing the less expensive rapid antigen tests???

What brand of Thai beer was it...I've never experienced a problem while drinking Thai beer, & over the years I've consumed a heck of a lot of it! ????

Bars, Booze, Beaches, & Broads...the 4 Building Blocks of any successful tourist industry...Why else would any tourist want to come to Thailand...surely not for the Temple tours!

Maybe they should consider changing New Year's to January 15th this coming year???

I always understood that Covid napped from 2pm to 5pm...so what's all the fuss about?

I have an iPad Air 2...the battery is supposed to last 10 hours! I had the original battery replaced at a kiosk in Market Village in Hua Hin. The replacement battery didn't last any longer than the original! When I got back to the US...I changed it again in August at a shop called "Batteries Plus" in Oregon. I don't think they did a damn thing other than keep it for about a week, & charged me $100 for the privilege! It's still now only lasting 2 to 3 hours at best! Batteries Plus said I could bring it back in, & they would take a look at it! I don't need to them to look at it; I just need them to replace the damn battery with a genuine Lithium one from Apple like they were supposed to do in the 1st place! I sure hope you have better luck than I did in finding a quality replacement batttery!

They're getting closer, but still no cigar! I know of no other country in the world that is requiring $50K of health insurance for their tourists, & 2 expensive RT-PCR Tests to boot! Also, I wonder if they are willing to refund me the over $500 I lost back in July when they wouldn't approve my COE in time for the Phuket Sandbox program!

I have a house in Hua Hin...why do I need proof of a hotel reservation beyond the 1 day required in order to receive the results of the arrival RT-PCR Test? Also, What kind of Visa's are available to make use this new entry process?

Sounds to me like they're planning to transform Walking Street into a Disneyland for Monks?

I never knew that the leading cause of the Covid Pandemic in Thailand was from the sale & consumption of alcoholic beverages...funny, but it doesn't seem to be the primary cause for the rest of the world!

With all the crazy entrance requirements...Thailand can't even attract tourists right now! They'll never attract retirees until they get rid of the ridiculous, burdensome COE process, the requirement for $100K of Covid Insurance, plus $100 of additional medical insurance if you are retired, & failure to recognize foreign medical insurance policies that cover retirees while in Thailand such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield! Plus most Thai insurance companies won't even insure retirees after age 75! Also the ridiculous requirements for fully vaccinated visitors to get 4 expensive Covid tests before they are allowed to roam freely about the country, plus having to spend 14 days quarantined in Phuket or Koh Samui! Good Luck attracting anybody with the current draconian entry process!!!

It's OK to use a "Big Stick" to control the wayward tourists...but only if you have a carrot on the end of it!

If you're truly serious about getting tourist back into Thailand then; 1) Get rid of the complex COE process! 2) Dump the Phuket Sandbox concept! 3) Dump the expensive 3 shot Covid testing! 4) Dump the 14 day quarantine requirement! 5) Dump the Covid Insurance requirement...these tourists will all be fully vaccinated! Replace it all with; 1) Open all the airports! 2) Admit only fully vaccinated tourists! 3) Restore the Visa on arrival process! 4) Require a Covid test to be conducted at the point of entry airport...if positive...put them back on the plane & send them home! 5) No more quarantine! 6) No more treating tourists like they are dangerous criminals who need to be carefully controlled & monitored at all times!

What were they thinking a year ago...forget about the current Covid-19 D variant situation! Did they really think they could control the viral epidemic completely via only lockdowns? I would say joining COVAX is a really nice gesture at this point, but you're a little bit late to the dance, & waiting until the the 1st quarter of 2022 is way too late...by then 1/2 the population of Thailand could become infected with untold amounts of deaths! There are already reports of dead bodies from Covid infections lying in the streets of Bangkok! The hospital are overwhelmed & folks are dying at home! The future is looking really grim for Thailand at this point! Thai people need effective Vaccines, & they need it now!

Bravo! 20 million doses is a good start in the right direction, but that's only enough for 10 million folks with a 1st & 2nd shot! What about ordering vaccine for the remaining 50 to 60 million Thais?
-
Hey, how about trying to get everybody vaccinated before you resort to locking everyone up like prisoners, & completely destroying the Thai economy; not to mention the increase in deaths by suicide! Lockdowns won't end the pandemic, but Vaccinations will!

Space Exploration is incredibly ridiculous to even consider at this point in time, as they can't even provide enough vaccine for their population! New Covid cases are approaching 10,000 a day, and almost 3,000 deaths or more overall!

Apparently the company producing the Astra Zeneca is a Thai company! With the cases in Thailand now skyrocketing, it's time for the government to order the production for the people of Thailand 1st! Similar to what the US did when they couldn't get enough ventilators early on in the pandemic! The government order several manufacturing firms such as General Motors to change their production lines from cars to ventilators! This later resulted in a surplus of ventilators, which America then donated to other countries in need of them!

The Thai LA Consulate is basically a mess! I applied for the program in June, & did my initial input which was all approved. On June 30th I added my Flight Data, & my SHA+ Hotel info as requested. when I checked it again on July 2, the COE system asked me to re-enter my flight & hotel data. The PDF files of both receipts were still there; however, they had apparently dropped all the other input...I believe they hadn't switched over their software yet from recognizing the former QSA hotels to the SHA+ hotels? I waited several more days, & then on July 8th they said my COE request was "Not approved due to the Hotel & Flight to Phuket"! They told me to re-apply, but at that point I was out of time to screw around with trying to do that as my flight was departing in just 4 more working days! Plus, I didn't want to lose my hotel cost ($500 +), or my airfare ($1,200 +), so at that point the only logical choice was for me to cancel all the arrangements that I had spent over a month, & over $2,000 putting together! Don't even bother wasting your valuable Time or Money on this stupid Phuket Sandbox BS...It's been a month long nightmare for me, & I'm still out over $300 on nonrefundable Covid-19 Insurance & related travel expenses! I sent the LA Thai Consulate an email asking them why I was rejected...it came back as undeliverable as addressed!

The reality of the situation is to VACCINATE, VACCINATE, VACCINATE! That's the only viable solution out of the pandemic! Lockdowns haven't worked to solve the problem in the past...& they won't work to solve it in the future! The lockdowns just make things worse for everyone as folks will still get Covid, but now they will also have to deal with economic reality of becoming broke and destitute from the lockdowns while continuing to suffer from the ongoing ravages of the disease!

Wow! Sounds to me like the authorities are tracking the Sandbox Tourists like they are predators! Helluva a way to treat fully vaccinated tourists!

They just keep on making it more & more attractive for folks to want to come to play in the Phuket Sandbox! I can't hardly wait to try on my new "location tracking bracelet". I sure hope it has a built in GPS & a pacer to track my distance when I go for a walk on the beach!

I'm really surprised that's it's only 50% cancellations...I couldn't design a more anti-tourist vacation package if I tried to myself! It's almost the middle of June, & they still haven't blessed the final entry process! Keep in mind this program was designed for fully vaccinated folks, so increasing the lockdown from 7 days to 14 days is a complete show stopper for many folks! Also, they keep increasing the number of required Covid tests from 1 to 3! The initial departure RT-PCR tests offered at US airports costs a whopping $250...not sure what 3 tests in Phuket will run, but I've heard anywhere from 1.2K up to 4K THB each! Plus you'll need an expensive $100K Covid 19 insurance policy! I'd love to book a flight...but I can't yet because the total package is not approved, & the cost of tickets keep increasing every day that I delay! I have no idea what 14 days in an approved SHA + hotel will cost either as they haven't even finalized the list, & now you have to get some crazy document with a QR code as proof of payment to send along for your COE! And after all that heartache & expense, you still need to get the blessing of the foreign Thai embassies to let you in via the COE process! And last, but not least, you get to have a completely dry, no alcohol vacation! I just might as well go & spend 2 weeks in the Utah desert with the Mormons, it will be more fun, way less expensive, & equally as dry!

Good Luck with that...You've already scared off all the tourists with your high priced Sandbox schemes, broken promises such as "Thai Pass", ridiculous quarantine policies for fully vaccinated tourists, expensive RT-PCR Tests, expensive health insurance, Phone software to track tourist's every move, & now this...Tax 'em when they arrive, & Tax'em when they leave! I wish you well!
