Big Joke caught partying with leading online gambling operator
I'm ignorant of the particulars, but based on Thai history, I'd say the most likely outcome is a few old thieves leave, and in comes a new bunch of thieves. That's how it seems to work in most countries, including my native land, anyhow. Meanwhile of course it's illegal for ordinary folks to directly criticize the very thieves here being investigated. TIT baby!

Blockbuster movie scares Chinese tourists away from Thailand
Probably close on the heels of the day that people learn that modern news stories are about getting clicks on the internet, not informing the readers.

Thai education ministry ‘tablets’ a bright future: Bringing equality to classrooms
For those wondering "why?" the answer is the same as ever: follow the money. Which politician's family runs a tablet distribution center?

Thai food’s bold blend of flavours: A culinary delight with a fatal bite
Well, I would say nothing needs to be done other than do the research and let people know the danger they are facing. If they don't listen then som nam na right?

Thai food’s bold blend of flavours: A culinary delight with a fatal bite
I wonder why the journalist who wrote this confusing article didn't think to include this important factual information. Used to be a time when the "news" contained "information."

PM Vows to Crackdown on Corruption
The only obvious way to improve Thailand's ranking on this index is to bribe the officials who maintain the list.

Corruption watchdog to appeal order to publish reports on Prawit’s wristwatch scandal
Yay! Wristwatches are back! This story is eternal!

Feasibility Study Expedited for Government Spaceport Project
This is money in the pockets of the ultra-wealthy, in expensive deals with foreign governments involving kickbacks and bribes, one can assume. It has nothing to do with improving the lives of Thai people. That went out of style when half-shirts and dog-leash girlfriends came in.

Wissanu asks Thaksin not to return on weekends or public holidays
OK first, you can't find one in advance if you're so worried about it? And second, if he's a lawbreaking fugitive, why the kid gloves? TIT baby

Chinese influencer praises Thailand’s VIP experience on elite visa
Wow, let me get this straight, for only 600k ฿ I get a golf court ride, free luggage handling, expedited line passage, and a free very nice taxi! Absolutely unimaginable than anyone would pass up such a deal!

Thais are sinking deeply into debt
Uh oh... this means the IMF or World Bank are going to smell blood in the water. God help Thailand if they ask for any financial "help" from the West. Better off letting China "rescue" you.

Pheu Thai will try to get its candidate selected as PM next Thursday
Protests were scheduled today in Bangkok but were canceled due to rain. People are pissed about all of this. It's not going well; I'm not sure this military coup is going to be the same as last time... but it's for sure coming, you know it is. They are decertifying all the senators that voted for Pita, which is infuriating a lot of people, not just the orange shirts! Be safe everyone; we're going to see tanks in the streets soon.

Prayut calls for calm
Reminds me of a quote: "If you make peaceful protest impossible, you make violent revolution inevitable." Not sure why it's so horrible to just let the people's vote stand...

Thai business leaders express concern over political instability
This focus on stability and efficiency over human values, overriding elections, and forming the alliance of business with a military government is called "fascism."

Pita ordered to suspend doing his duties as an MP
Sounds like the kind of wishful thinking of progressives in the US. "Just keep voting, it will all be fine." Nope, electoral politics sadly depends on politicians to keep their word. No, the answer unfortunately is mass civil "disobedience", it's the only message governments understand. Elections are plainly rigged. Only a fool believes that a politician is there to help. Put on a mask and join a protest. It's all you've got if you are poor.

Pita and his “devil may care” attitude
How is this "devil may care?" it sounds to me like someone standing by a principle. To be fair, he is a politician, so the idea that he is acting on principle is probably wrong, but... it does look like it at first glance.

Pita ready to step aside if his party fails to win senators’ hearts
Depends on your definition I guess. I would say in my view, that war and politics are rife with conspiracies. I believe that if you don't think so, then you are a useful idiot to the monsters who rule us. Your government lies to you. Don't care which government.
-
Pita ready to step aside if his party fails to win senators’ hearts
I think that the "global leaders" are elected through similar shenanigans and do not have aspirations of giving power to the people. I would personally have more faith in the local military to do the right thing for Thailand than the UN or whichever "leaders" you are talking about.

Move Forward Party’s Thai PM Candidate Pita Fails First Round of Voting
I think I hear a NATO membership dangling! ????????
-
Online calls for boycott of senators’ businesses top trending overnight
Better cover your face -- seems like something the authorities are going to get involved with? I love that Thais are becoming more activist and involved in pressuring their government.

House speaker accepts draft charter amendment bill to clip senators’ wings
That's the very definition of senator. Self enrichment aside, the Senate was invented in Rome to give the appearance of democracy and still avoid having to listen to the public. They are doing their job just fine.

Police Prepare For Nationwide Protests, Parliament Heavily Guarded
OR... you could just respect the election results... yeah, ok, got it. We're fortifying.

Move Forward Party’s Thai PM Candidate Pita Fails First Round of Voting
Fully agree, it is not my place as a guest in this country to say how it should be run, unless someone asks my opinion. Nonetheless it is worth discussing the impacts or probably outcomes.
