I'm trying that service now but it's my router that is the problem.
Their knowledge base has a few tips on how to do it like this for example;
https://support.over...nstall-on-ddwrt
Also there is a FAQ and live HELP to ask them direct how to do it ..

Get any VPN (Overplay is the best I have seen here on all ISP's in Bangkok https://www.overplay.net/ ) and install it on your ADSL modem router then the following work without needing to be set up each time on your;
1. TV
2. Tablets / pads
3. Computers - desktop / notebooks etc
4. smart phones
5. media tanks
like that attached image shows

I simply use a post paid package with AIS since the mid 90's (yep there was even data packages back then too) which costs 499 per month - but there are many packages - but you shop around for them, at say MBK where everyone is located.
-
way cool - reminded me of the 70's albeit we had no ethernet then just serial 9600baud terminals and 1200 baud between controllers ..

Just google streaming tv, shift through the listings, you will
find quite a few sites where you can stream,Movies,Series
ect, to your Tv, no need to download ,unless you want to
keep them.
Regards Worgeordie
The sad thing with IPTV / streaming is you need the bandwidth 24/7

Go to your local mobile phone shop and buy an aircard or mobile modem/router.
Dlink have some good and cheap 3G versions with wifi. Buy a cheap unlimited data package from them - off you go surfing the internet. I use a Dlink 3G modem/router with a AIS data package in the car for the kids and their tablets so they can stream etc when we are traveling about (keeps them quite) .. and I use it for Skype on my tablet back to the office and else where.

The other shop quoted 2,700 for the 90 cm dish and 1,250 for the LNBF C+KU band Infosat CKU-01. That seemed a reasonable price to me.
You also need ;
1. a 2 way diseqc although the Infosat dual C/Ku band LNB's have that built into them
2. a C band conical feed horn adapter for the LNB (to make it work on the offset dish)
3. a C band LNB mount for the dish
4. plus paying an installer to learn how to do it while they install it for you
Good luck ..

Thanks for that info
What a pity my other dish is only 78 cm
I see you say 90 - 120 cm. Obviously the bigger the better, but how much difference between the sizes? I ask because of having limited room for a 120 cm, yet can get a 90 cm in.
Would all dual LNB's pick up the same signal level or are there better ones than others?
Thanks.
Difference - is simple seeing channels or not seeing channels. By dual LNB's do you mean side by side (this will never work) or a Dual C / Ku LNB (which will work)
I guess you could find someone to do a 90cm for you or give it a try yourself on your existing 78cm offset dish (we do not do this as it is more than double the price of a small C band dish doing the same thing)
-
Would that dish be pointed in the same direction as a True dish to get C and KU bands?
Yes at 78.5e Thaicom 5 satellite.
Your Location Satellite Data Dish Setup Data
Latitude: 13.7522°
Longitude: 100.4939°
Name: 78.5E THAICOM 5
Distance: 36529km
Elevation: 59.9°
Azimuth (true): 239.5°
Azimuth (magn.): 240.5°
LNB Skew [?]: 56.8°
PS: Costs a heck of a lot more than a cheap and cheerful 5' black dish doing the same job.

If that article is correct it looks like True will not have the EPL next year.
Unlikely the new mob will have HD channels ready as well.
Disappointing news.
Sent from my GT-I9100T using Thaivisa Connect App
It looks like the new mob CTH weren't even expecting to win the bid and don't even have the cabling
infrastructure in place to provide the country nationwide.
In the Bangkok Post article they claim to run fibre optic cables in place by next February?
It seems they're being very ambitious and making a very bold decision on all of this, i'm not instilled with much
confidence though after reading that.
Also, they claim to be a relatively new company and don't have much experience with sport broadcasting either.
They do however, have satellite distribution to the 800 odd Thai cable operators nationwide already in place and working for years now off the ABS 1 C band satellite.
-
Can the True dish not just be fitted with a dual LNB (KU and C)? Cheaper/better than a second dish - or are they oriented differently (different satelites)?
The simple answer is no on a true dish but on a bigger 90/120cm yes
-
Is there a list of these 200 channels?
http://www.lyngsat.com/Thaicom-5.html has both bands and all the free to view and subscription channels over 200 Thai (not English) channels
-
Looks like no one plays games here (smile) but for repair work it would be better to get it done there at your leisure rather than on a timetable when on holiday here.
-
There are more than 200 Thai Channels on Grammy although rather less on KU Band you would be recieving with a True dish.
GMM do not provide 200 channels on the C or Ku Bands, rather their set top box will allow you to tune other free to air TV and radio channels into it from other providers giving the illusion it is being provided by GMM.

Put the proxy details in your modem router and then every device can be used TV included.
-
they were most likely using CTOS which is still on the net for dload but I do apologise in advance I have forgotten where.

for surfing the web in a cafe none of the browsers available on the four phone/tablet devices really do a great job on most of the web site I use regualarly, the Asus ultrabook is more expensive, heavier (but still ultra-portable) but runs standard Win 7 browsers that handle all the web sites as expected
bkkguy
Guess you have never used Opera mini on any of the tabs, give it a try and you will be very surprised just how well it works.
-
up to you but I for one would simply use two dishes or a simple HD move dish and ensure I got the signals in the rainy season.

google XBMC and install that on your small PC (Mac/Linux/Windows etc) and use your iphone or android phone as the smart remote control for everything.
