Of course it had dropped, it had dropped 4 years previous when I retired but credit card companies take it that everyone will have a reduced income on reaching state retirement age.
The original point of trying to increase your credit limit prior to retirement just doesn't hold water.
I’ll be honest here sandyf, I think you’re clueless on this subject.
I HAVE (not tried) increased my limits as thousands of others have prior to retirement.
I gave an example of Barclaycard reducing credit limits, even more reason to up your limit now in case they strike. (I’ve just read this morning that reductions of £4000 are not uncommon).
As you stated in your previous posts, you had outstanding balances on your cards. Shrewd people pay up immediately and avoid interest charges.
If you had a poor credit rating, your problem, don’t assume everyone else has.
Your 5 credit cards might have looked flash in your wallet but worked against you, with only a few bob credit limit on them. Less cards is better here.
Ill also ask you to stop butting in on matters you clearly know nothing about and Ill say one more time, myself and many thousands of older retirees have increased limits on cards prior to retirement.

I hear you, but half the amount would hardly be worth sending, even by cheap Charlie standards.
Id spend more on a decent night out in Bkk and she knows it.
Money aside, Its actually more to the point of how long will all this BS go on?
If they turned around and announced:
"no farang tourists to enter Thailand for 2 years"
OR indefinately..
Or they keep these entry conditions so tough that it becomes out of the question for the average punter to go..
Then how long can one keep up this dance of just video chat and messages up before it becomes just to futile and frustrating?
As an earlier poster mentioned, it is nice to have the gf contact, to keep up hope and good spirits about missing Thailand and your peeps
but at the same time, at some point, the whole thing must become pointless.
With what seems like absolute Covid paranoia and fear rife in Thailand right now,
AND the crazy xenophobia about foreigners, it really is hard to imagine things EVER getting back to a kind of normal where we can go and visit gfs again.
Only your injection of baht sustains this “relationship”
Thats very clear now after your last post.

It doesn’t appear you trust your lady enough for a long term absence.
Only you know this for sure and if money is becoming an issue for you, why not half her “allowance” citing your changing circumstances work wise.

Why do some people feel obligated to share this kind of guff? Someone else trying to get advice from entirely the wrong people (TVF members) on entirely the wrong forum. OP, grow a pair and make your own mind up.
As I write this you (Pilotman) are the first follower of this thread.
Can the op tell us how much is “chump change” in this instance and I agree many now face the same issue.
How about the family, are you the sole provider?

I take it you haven't reached retirement.
Shortly after my 65th birthday the limits on all my credit cards, had 5 at the time, were reduced to the outstanding balance and as the balance reduced the limit was reduced until they got to about £3000.
I’m retired but some way off official retirement age.
You can have too many cards regardless of whether you’re using them, then you’re viewed as a credit risk (reneging on loans etc becomes popular in older people).
Barclaycard are in the process of informing certain customers that their credit limit has been reviewed and is being lowered, compensation has been paid in some cases.
Possibly on retirement your income dropped and this was considered regarding your credit limits.

Clicked the link and switched off when the violin music started.
I suspect this revolves around prostitutes begging for money.

Yes, if by “go with ladyboys” you mean having sex with men, that qualifies you as gay.
Regardless of whatever else you might chuck it up.

Zolpidem and similar pills are not highly addictive (much less than benzos anyway), my doctor already checked three times for addiction, simply by stopping the pills. never had a problem doing that, except difficulties sleeping.
I took a small dose every evening (5mg) and stopped from one day to the other. I have been off for over a month already.
Ok Doc, you’ve probably been taking them for too long already and are suffering from the side affects if you don’t think they’re addictive.
Heres some info included in the packets.

One of the best clinical drugs ever invented but classed as a narcotic in Thailand.
I understand it helping sleep under stressful work situations (you could sleep soundly knowing a firing squad awaits in the morning).
Highly addictive, hence few practices in the uk prescribe it. You can buy generic versions online but again, not legally in Thailand.
If you have enough, start weaning off them over 2/3 months reducing slowly, not easy when your in the work/stress position.

Although a lot of credit cards come with some kind of insurance , medical care won't be one of them.
However, if you turn up at a hospital for expensive treatment ( as happened to me , 120,000 bahts worth ) and have a decent credit card with good limit then it can be a life saver.
You pay your bill with the card and then you can pay off the credit card installments at your leisure after you recover.
When I was admitted , they checked out my card in 5 minutes then straight to my private room , passing half a dozen blokes on deaths door in reception whilst two secretaries tried on the telephone to confirm their insurance policies were up to the mark.
Also, before retirement or while you’re still working increase the limit on your cards to the max,
I don’t think it’s as easy without current employment.

I do not have relatives in Thailand anymore.
When you go for a visa do they ask for evidence of stay ?
As stated above book a suite/room with a free cancellation policy for your first couple weeks (obviously don’t forget to cancel after arrival).
Print this off whether you think you need it or not, it’s costing you nothing. You’ll probably need to give card details for the accommodation.

Poor value at any price.
Big Mac price in the UK...........68 baht.
Big Mac price in Thailand.......195 baht. (Includes dubious cola & mouthful of fries).
Under the terms of the 50% discount offered by Chancellor Rishi Sunak, a Big Mac could sell for as little as £1.69 ($2.15) in participating restaurants.

Vettel is a poor loser and a cheat much the same way Schumacher was a cheat although Schumacher was also a supreme racer.
Lewis is talented, no question.
As as for the best of all time, we’ll never know, the fastest and most reliable cars usually produce a winner.
So the Mercedes team are probably one of the greatest ever teams.
Now if somehow we could have a season of races using identical cars that would be awesome and I’d forecast Vettel to finish 6th.
