I ship to US all the time, the Thai mail service is extremely reliable. If they gave you a tracking number that starts with RR and ends with TH you can go to the USPS.COM website and track it there IF it already arrived in the US. It takes about 20 days to be delivered.

I was in the same situation as you so I decided to go to Saigon, they flat out denied me because they said I had an ed visa already so I had to fly to Vientiane and did it there. It was my second Ed visa.

I would go for Vientiane BUT try to get a new passport done in BKK. If I had a clean passport I would have been granted a visa in Saigon. I made the mistake of letting visas accumulate in my passport and it caused me problems.

Citizens from these countries don't need a visa and can stay up to 15 days

It is a lot cheaper to get the entry permit letter online with agencies  and get the visa on arrival than to do it at the embassy. You were not swindled just costs more doing at the embassy.

I have been to VT 3 times and the agencies are very reliable. Every expat in Vietnam knows going to embassies is more expansive and everyone living here goes with the agencies using the letter. 

Next time you need it get a visa go on facebook and look for expat group in Ho Chi Minh and ask about visa agency there. You will get tons of reliable recommendations.

You could have gotten a 6 month visa for the same price they charge at the embassy.

You are forgetting you are also a guest there. How about you putting some money together and buying your own place for you and your new family. After all it looks worse a grown up men to be living in the gf's aunts house than a 21 yr old doesn't it????

Another question I have is can I apply for residency under this visa? Is it 3 or 4 yrs later?

Yes, I told them I get monthly payment from an apartment rental back home. My gf got stopped and taken aside for the 3rd time this time.

We are fed up and I am packing my stuff as I type this. We are moving to HCMC since they have a much more friendly visa policy. Staying here if you are under 50 is a hassle. Getting extorted at the airport is not a good feeling. 

Ok here are the details. I have been here over 4 yrs, I just got a second Ed visa 2 months ago, and the previous visas was a mix of tourist visas and the in/out in Poipet years ago. I had a re-entry permit as well.

It was a Thai Airways flight from HCMC.

IO looked at my passport and called supervisor, first words out of his mouth was about the Pro Language ed visa I had on a previous passport 2 yrs ago.

Got taken to a desk and they started writing down all my stays here, counting the duration of every stay.

Supervisor asked me many times how come I haven't been back to my country and then asked if I owned a condo here and where I was staying. Everything was written in the arrival card I handed to her. 

Not once she mention the possibility of me working me, which I don't. Asked if I had any books or school ID from my school, I told her that I don't take books and school ID when I travel. 

It was almost midnight and there was no more flights arriving.

I started to wonder what the hell she wants w me because she was holding me for 3 hours and not saying she would let me pass or not. 

She asked if I knew any thais here, had a thai gf, asked the number to call the school (it was almost midnight) so she can call and verify the information.

I gave her a number of a thai person I know, she called him and there was an "agreement".

They hung up and I was let go. 

I was coming back from a trip to Vietnam and Cambodia, I had a re-entry permit and was on an ed visa and my gf too. We both got pulled aside, she was let go quickly, I got questioned for 3 hours and I was let go because of an "agreement" I cannot talk about here. Immigration officer was talking about Pro Language which was my old ed visa I got almost 2 yrs ago. 

I am moving to HCMC so the timing is about right.

I knew this Thai gf and I noticed she change her name on facebook. My first thought was she probably married but then I noticed she changed her first name as well so I thought maybe she is trying to hide from someone. I asked her best friend what's the reason behind and she told me she went to a psychic and she was told to change her name for better luck. No need to say more, I was appalled and thought this was a 1 of stupidity that I would not possibly ever see again.

To my surprise I met another thai women who also changed her name and I asked her what the reason behind and she told me it was also on a psychic recommendation because bad things kept happening to her so the psychic told her to change her name to change her luck.

And I thought I would not see something as absurd as the luk thep doll trend BS.

I am curious to know if the 6 entries are counted for 1 yr since the first entry so they are re-set on january 1st.

I just got back from Bali. It was easy but the visa was expensive and you must show 2 tickets out of Thailand for double entry OR 3 tickets out if you want triple entry. It also takes 3 days to get it. You must also show hotel reservations for each stay and bank account statement. Go if you want to visit and see Bali but going just for a visa run is not worth.

The tourist visa was issued oct 15. Question I have now is.... so I would have to use up the visa (both entrances) within 6 months of the date of issue or just the first one to activate it?

I came into Thailand yesterday on a double entry tourist visa. The immigration officer didn't check the visa and just gave me a stamp on arrival.

Do I still have 2 entries available on the visa I received?

She didn't put any stamps on the tourist visa and gave me a stay in Thailand different from what I would get from the tourist visa.

And they still extort money, 300 baht to pay for the interviewer is just ridiculous. Hopefully people will switch to the new 6 month tourist visa and dump this ED visa. Less money on their piggy little pockets.

a couple of months ago I put a small deposit to get my paperwork ready for an ED visa. I tried calling them this week to see if the paperwork is ready and all the number on their website are not working.

Did they go out of business?

well honestly I am not concerned whether or not u think I am troll. My visa agent called me at 6pm this afternoon telling me to bring him my passport tomorrow to get an extension before the new changes come into effect. Up to you to my your own conclusions

I read in another forum immigration is now giving only 1 month extensions in ALL visas. Only if you are married AND have a thai child you get 3 months.

My visa agent just called me now telling me to give him my passport tomorrow to extend my ED visa ASAP even if I have more than 1 month left. He said there will be some change in the visa extensions next week because of the bombings. Anyone else has seen any tightening on the visa rules?

why not just waterboard him?? I am sure he will go thru some torture in order to speak (at least I hope so).

if you really want true love without any financial disasters you need to marry a chinese/thai doctor whos family are well connected in BKK, just like all the other posters that are lining up to take the piss out of you.

....otherwise just keep an open mind but never, ever continue it once money requests or business suggestions come into play, walk on and find another.....and there are more, lots more. it just depends on how desparate you are to part with everything you have.....and i have seen MANY suckers like that over the years, and new nes all the time.

I also agree w this. My wife to be is chinese and at the end I also looked for chinese thai mix. Singaporeans I also find better than thai.
