I need a new tourist visa from a consul. Is this ok?
My first visa from a Thai consul (Vientiane) expires end of May. May I get another one there or at a different Thai consul? I'm a US citizen. Thanks

My tourist visa stamp is for 'until Jan. 1, 2024.'
Does this mean I can to across a border for a stamp on Jan. 1? Or does it have to be in December? Thanks.

Chiang Khong Border Bounce on 13th DEC 2023 - Report
I'm out of land crossings for 2023 but need one more stamp; my Thai visa expires Jan 1 2024. (The immigration police at Vientiane crossing reminded me before sending me back to Lao.) Is there an airport in Chiang Khong? Thanks.

Chiang Khong Border Bounce on 13th DEC 2023 - Report
- visa agents for 12 +3 visas (15 month visas)
Hello, Visa agents in Pattaya abound who'll do this but it costs. Any agents up here? Thanks!- How do I learn the visa laws?
Yes, social security does not extend to 800,000 bhat, even when a person is a retired teacher. Yet I could live like a worthy human being. It was refreshing. The Dalai Lama calls it 'living with dignity.' Perhaps it will work out again. It does teach us a few lessons, though, about how flippant people are, willing to ridicule fellow ex-pats. The Thai immigration officer was in good company...- How do I learn the visa laws?
Kiimothai, now the larger visa company (in bkk) says they'll have a new quota of 15 month visas like you asked about. The issue with all the companies lies in the non O financial requirement (800,000 bhat), which is why so many of us get these 15 month extensions. But her quota is limited and timing is not 100% assured. I'm willing to try though.- 15 month retirement visa no longer available?
You nave not addressed the issue: '15 months' designates the visa we are discussing. The financial requirements are much different, and as I said (& you publicly ridiculed) this is only done through an agent. Before you shame and blame others, please do your homework. This has been around for awhile; you've just forgotten (or ignored it).- 15 month retirement visa no longer available?
" The visa holder will often apply for Visa extension based on Retirement when in the Kingdom, which will enable them to stay for longer (see below). However, for this initial application, you will need the following documents: Proof that you are 50 years or older (your passport will suffice) Sufficient funds in your Thai Bank account not less than 800,000 THB. " Every source says this. This is not the visa we're discussing.- 15 month retirement visa no longer available?
Then why are other people posting with the same information as mine? Why are our agents now telling us -, using the nomenclature I used, that they are unable to process our requests now? Can you give me an example of getting such a visa? Perhaps you're thinking of something else.- 15 month retirement visa no longer available?
My 15 month retirement visa seems to be off the market now. Anyone have a martial arts connection or something similar that works for them? Or advice? I'll bet I have to pull up stakes & live elsewhere! Thanks! Ubon Joe, your opinions?- How do I learn the visa laws?
Chiang Mai, airport - the only one left, I believe. But I relied on private companies & it was fine until a month ago. Then one after another, they couldn't do this 15 month retirement visa, even a powerful company that I never doubted. I'm trying to learn the 'rules' so I don't step out of line again crossing borders until I have to move. It looks like the govt. simply wants younger, more affluent people now. I'll probably end up in a dustier less sanitary version of Thailand, at least until I save some cash to go elsewhere. How about you? I've posted everywhere. Maybe martial arts schools offer visas for a price? They did during covid. Thanks for posting.- Yearly retirement visa & Non O visa
Being small-minded, judgemental & feeling superior makes up for what?- Yearly retirement visa & Non O visa
airport- How do I learn the visa laws?
Hi Lopburi etc. I knew I'd be walking into the lion's den by posting this question. /despite the inaccuracy of my wording, how do I find information about requirements for the yearly retirement visa (not the lifetime one)?- How do I learn the visa laws?
People posting often refer to 'official laws' and I would like to learn these. (What types of border crossings, etc.) I would also like to know the latest changes to the yearly retirement visa (a retirement visa issued for one year by an agent.) Where would I find these? Thank you.- Yearly retirement visa & Non O visa
My agent for the yearly retirement visa no longer does these, so I'm looking elsewhere. Any suggestions? (The retirement extension that is supported by the company.) Thanks.- Border at Udon Thani - Lao is open or closed?
Thought I'd better ask if the Lao border from Udon Thani is open. I need a 30 day visa stamp in my US passport. This is the first stamp I've had this trip. Thanks. - visa agents for 12 +3 visas (15 month visas)
