  1. Epilogue So I went in to the station this morning, an officer drove me to the court to drop off some papers and then to immigration. No cuffs, I sat in the passenger seat, and the officer was really nice. I only got out of the truck at immigration where I waited 10 minutes to get my passport back. There were no other fees to be paid. Talking to what I believe was a police chief before my trip to immigration this morning. He said normally they take many breath tests and make an average of all the tests to determine the BAL. The arresting officers submitted my intoxication report with one breath test, 50, the legal minimum, when they made me do the breath test 5 times. You can draw your own conclusion. It's seems you would get in less trouble if you would break a not so serious law, are polite about it and apologize profusely than be argumentative after committing no real offense.
  2. I made the first post at the police station minutes before they jumped me.
  3. They said one reading was 50, legal minimum for dui I've been told. They never showed me the results on the breathalyzer. Just some printed out document with the police paperwork. Honestly I've never used a breathalyzer before or been arrested
  4. The full story was posted in a previous post. Receipt from Thai Court for those clamoring troll.
  5. Are tourists supposed to study everchanging laws that make no sense, like wearing a mask on a motorbike? If the police really cared and wanted to protect the population, they would go out in the day when people are around in public places and instruct people to wear masks with a warning, not interrogate people at length who are putting nobody at risk. Shouldn't the police themselves wear masks when inside a building?
  6. I didn't want to carry one around and I was in a place where nobody was wearing them. I don't live here. It would never have crossed my mind that such a thing would be strictly enforced if at all, especially since transmission while riding seems highly unlikely.
  7. I did take that approach, but the fourth time he told me to put on my mask and I told him I didn't have one on me, only in my hotel where I was going to, I started to get seriously perturbed. It was like he was asking the same handful of questions on repeat.
  8. I was riding back to my hotel at 2 am this morning. The police did a routine stop. Asked me about why I didn't have a mask and all sorts of other questions repeatedly. I had a helmet on and was driving safely. I started getting frustrated and said how f$$^ing stupid it all was to detain me for riding a motorbike for this. I dropped the f bomb a handful of times, not name calling, just out of frustration over the whole stupid scenario, because people go out all the time in Patong with no mask, the bar street, etc. Afterwards, he said something to the effect of you say f$&& f$&$^ f&#^, I take you to the police station. So I roll in to the station and there a five cops there to greet me. I was super <deleted> off now. So I started taking pictures of the 5 cops at the station who arrested me for not wearing a mask. That <deleted> them off and all five of the cops tackled me to get my phone, literally assaulted me. One pushed my head down, other were grabbing at my limbs. My back still hurts a little but nothing too serious. I just tried to resist and not fight back. In the end, I was on the ground with five cops on me. They put cuffs super aggressively on me and marched me up the the upper floor cell which was dirty tiles and a squatter in the corner. So they decide I was drunk and I said I had had a beer or two that night but my mind was perfectly clear. On the fifth time they told me to blow into the breathalyzer, they apparently got a reading of 50, the lowest level of DUI here. So they charged me with not wearing a mask in public which carries a 500 baht fine and DUI of 3000 baht fine. Spent a day in court and pled guilty. I was advised by a friend that was the way to go. After court, they put me back in the cell for a couple hours, not sure why. Funny thing was, when we got back to the police station, I entered a room with 4 cops, two of them hurriedly put on their masks when I walked in. Then I was just released but told to come back Tuesday to go to immigration with the police officer.
  9. I was arrested for not wearing a mask riding a motorbike in Phuket. Stay away!!
  10. We know for a fact that the contamination occurred after we delivered it to the PCL at their container loading station. I personally delivered it to the container loading station near Bangkok. I was personally there to pick it up from the Customs warehouse in LA. We know for a fact that US Customs did not fumigate the container. The PCL also claimed to not fumigate it. We requested an insurance quotation from the PCL just prior to shipment. They never gave us one and the invoice we received after it already shipped didn't include insurance. The PCL claims shipping insurance wouldn't cover this type of incident.
  11. Can a foreign-owned business get a fair shot in a lawsuit against a Thai PCL? It's a shipping issue. We personally deliver LCL freight to Thai PCL employees at the container freight station. The container is closed the next day. The container is opened 2 months later at a US Customs warehouse and the goods are tainted by some type of chemical fumes. Seems like a home run to us, but for some reason the Thai PCL doesn't respond to a demand letter. Is the court system fair? Is who owns a large interest in the PCL a key factor?
  12. My booking was on Agoda. There should be no problem there. Just send a screenshot or picture of booking confirmation with your application.
  13. So my application was rejected on a Sunday, Monday would have been the 7th work day since I registered. I failed to attach the 2 PCR test bookings. With my flight on the 12th, I was kind of panicking to re-register. So I just re-registered and 1 minute later I got the confirmation email for my application, I received an approval email with QR code. On Saturday, I emailed the MFA Covid-19 task force about my application since my flight was a few days away, they sent the following reply. I sent an email to all three of the email addresses. I got no reply, but my application was rejected on a Sunday. So, methinks maybe someone rejected it in response to my email. As a last result, you could contact someone in Phuket... 14. Based on the 7-day infection and death rates, 0.3% of people are now dying from covid, roughly equivalent to the flu. When will governments realize that with vaccines and treatments for covid that destroying your economy to save those that would die anyway from the flu is no longer worth it.
