sherlockh replied to 2long's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I haven't been to Thailand since the late 1980's but my favourite then was Hogs Breath, upstairs on the left. There was also one on the ground floor right but I cannot remember the name other than that of 2 of the girls (!). I used to go down to Soi Cowboy as well. Tilac bar. This was in the days when Golden Palace hotel in soi 1 and the stalls and bars in the area opposite soi 1 under the flyover and along by the rail track were still there. -

Report MRT Music Mayhem: Foreign Influencer Blasted by Fed-Up Commuters
sherlockh replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Years ago especially in London, buskers used the power of their own voices to entertain. Now it seems that they need to have loudspeakeo irritate the public! They have been moved out of certain areas in UK and I would suggest that the same should apply in Thailand. If your voice is not good enough don't even bother.Pack up your speakers and go home. -

Fresh Details Emerge in Irish Diver’s Mysterious Demise on Death Island

As much as I have sympathy with the family at their loss I question the cost of repatriation.Homeland International quotes the following on line:Cost between £2000 and £20000 but average is £3000-£6000. Ashes~£1000- £3000. Repatriation of a patient is £200-£300 per mile. There are now a number of families using GoFundMe asking for in excess of £30000. -
I do not think she was that naive to believe she was bringing back designerclothes and watches and her 'cut' was £18000. The judge should be ashamed of himself for the sympathetic sentence and the prosecution should appeal against this.Olga will probably sell her story to the Tabloids for even more money.

Nobody seems to have mentioned the timing in the CCTV shots. The incident took place in 5 seconds from start to finish. Very little time for any reaction by the lorry driver. Also the 15 year old motor cyclist appears to falter as he crosses because of the motor bike coming from his left. That momentary lapse could have been the reason for this tragic accident.

Many were put down in UK after several serious incidents and the new law coming into force. They are NOT pets. Be warned.
