May I remind you to something like the rapes of many girls by many men....in Britain, held back by politicians and police, a thing like a girl used by many men as a prostitute in Holland, the sexual assault on many women in Köln and other towns, and so on.

    Not only in Thailand......

Just what I was thinking, the case of the Rotherham and Rochdale scum was probably worse because it was deliberately covered up by the authorities ...disgusting

As much as many people find it astounding accidental/drunken/drugged/suicidal falls are a legitimate occurance.

My current girlfriend and has her previous boyfriend were holidaying during uni trimesters. She checked him into a hotel on Khao San to go out with his mates and went home to her mothers to spend time with her family.

The next day she's being dragged into the police station after learning of his fall and was seriously dragged over the coals with the finger of blame unfairly pointed squarely at her.

It took quite a lot of proving her alibi was legit and people coming into give account of where she was that night to get her free.

The police gave her a hard time regarding any monies he may have had, possessions etc.

His family were only told it was not suspicious and and an accidental fall. So even though they say this immediately and report same I'm of the belief there are investigations carried out without our knowledge.

Not particularly helpful for the public lunch mobs to feel like justice has been served but there must be a reason for this 'non-reporting' course of action.

Yes, the police should round up those lunch mobs and confiscate their sandwiches

ahh didn't take long for that tired of trope to come out. One that has be debunked many times.

And hey here is a novel idea, lets stop invading, bombing and interfering with other countries and maybe we wouldn't have so many refugees knocking around, funny that.

Yes the West should stay out of ME, and Muslims should stay out of the West. Like oil and water the 2 cultures don't mix, however our politicians have a different agenda, so apart from getting a vote every 5years there is not much we can do to change things

Don't have to be a lefty luvvie to see common sense and on that note not all conservative minded people are racist. There are over 9 billion muslims in the world if it was really more than a minority we'd all be dead.

Muslims have lived in Britain for decades without this kind of behaviour... through IRA atrocities, did we denounce catholicism as a breeding ground for terrorism, tell the Irish they were not welcome? Even though our egotistical ways had caused the unrest in a similar way. Some muslims integrate some don't but they have not been driving cars into people, bombing kids concerts or slashing people will nilly until the scourge that is Daesh and Al qaeeda reared it's ugly head in response to Bush/Blair criminality.

Blaming a whole creed of people is divisive and is IS best recruitment tool so play into their hands all you want... I will continue to be inclusive and do my bit to make sure that youngsters around me don't feel isolated and have no need to look for somewhere to belong.

Just on another note... how many TV members have integrated in Thailand? Not an accusation, genuine question.

The Irish were definitely made unwelcome in England during early 20th century, mainly because of terrorism ....

I don't know a single Muslim person fully integrated into UK society.

sorry but  where have you been, at least 90% of all terror attacks in Europe have been carried out by people "known to the authorities"

The problem is - what defines the point of intervention, well with EU human rights involved  - a person would pretty much need to have a bomb strapped to themselves and you would still need to prove intent and that they weren't out for a pleasant stroll

Like I said in my post above, what identifies the threat needs to change, we have muslim clerics preaching that western values are destroying islam - what do they possibly hope to achieve by this, there are only three options that I see

    - people that support it act on it with a terrorist event

    - stop preaching this divisive nonsense and integrate properly into the society

    - the authorities need new legislation and powers to step in and deal with it before it leads to a terrorist event

what currently hampers the UK from doing anything ....................... EU human rights laws

I am all for human rights but those propagating hate and division need to be dealt with, this is the age we are now in, the happy happy all together thing is not working any more

Time for change and new laws to deal with these people and redefine what needs to be dealt with

Quite agree, multiculturalism is a grotesque social experiment that has failed spectacularly and with dire consequences....

What are you talking about Kev? I most certainly don't think I'm superior nor am I one of the many TV members here who has tried to portray Indian tourists as unworthy tourists. You need to go back and read the posts again - this time slowly ?

It gives them a false sense of superiority, this statement indicates to me that you regard your views as superior. By the way where is Falagistan ?

  7. 13 hours ago, djayz said:

Well said. It gives them a (false) sense of superiority - something they could never feel back in Falagistan.

These tourists, Indian and Chinese, may not spend thousands of Baht a night in soapy bars, beer bars, brothels, etc. but they do help to keep hotel occupancy up; restaurants full; bus and taxi companies on the roads; etc. This in turn keeps a lot of staff in employment.

They, too, are just as entitled to a holiday abroad.

On the contrary it's people like you that think you are superior, you think playing the race card gives you the moral high ground, politicians used to try to brainwash us with the term colour prejudice until they worked out that some nationalities of colour are actually quite likeable, unlike anyone from the subcontinent.

There is lot of misleading information about Indians...

    1. Indians like to travel Europe not Asia on their holiday vacations. They have enough money for that(so dont worry for your tip when you go back to your country and see yourself in your real life)

    2. Indian education standard is way much higher than Farangs who can't even speak proper English and think themself superior in Thailand.

    3. Indians are much better tourist than farangs who are begging on roads and selling their baby pictures for money.Totally shameful.

    4. Indians respect women alot . And thats also true some are totally ridicolous who spoiling Indians image by misbehaving with women. Sorry for that. And I think such morons are everywhere in the world.

So dont judge all Indians on that.

    In your dreams !

Always very funny to see foreigners in a country ranting at other foreigners!!...perhaps it gives a erroneous feeling of better integration?....

Just remember for the locals, all farangs are in put in the same bucket!...the walking ATM bucket that is!!

First thing, Indians are not farangs, and if you believe that Thais regard them in the same way as farangs you are naive

(Reuters) - Former heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko announced his retirement from boxing on Thursday, ruling out a rematch with Briton Anthony Joshua.

The 41-year-old Ukrainian was knocked out by Joshua in the 11th round at Wembley Stadium in April.

Klitschko announced his retirement on his website (www.klitschko.com), and posted a video on his official Twitter account after his website's server broke down.

I travelled there a few years back.  I am neither a brain dead moron nor have a backpacker mentality.  It was a fascinating experience. A friend and I were on a private tour made possible through an experienced company in China. Our minders, as I like to call them, were a guide who was a very nice female who spoke excellent English, a driver, and a second "guide" who seemed to do little and gave me the impression he might have been the government watchdog.  Probably one of the most memorable travel experiences I have had. Very educational in that it clearly showed me the brainwashing that takes place there.  At one point I asked the female guide about how the Korean War started and her response was "probably a different version than yours."  Anyway I am glad I had the opportunity, followed the rules and found it to be an incredible experience. Would I got at this period of heightened tensions? No. Many Europeans travel to the DPRK,  seems like mostly from places like the Netherlands and you never hear about problems. Also note that most of the people the DPRK have detained have been people trying to do missionary work, something that is strictly forbidden.

What happened to Otto is anyone's guess and a horrible tragedy.  He was on a group tour and one has to wonder, if as a young person he made the foolish move of which they accused him. Still the punishment was out of line and the minute he became ill he should have been sent home. Believe me you don't want to do anything that is disrespectful and the tour company he used was the same one I used and we got a very thorough briefing on how to behave while there.

Very interesting and enlightening post mate. It's also refreshing to read that someone has the intelligence to know the difference between should have and should "of"

For the safety of everyone who wishes to fly without worry, there should be put in place a system whereby muslims fly together and non-muslims fly together. They caused the problem so let them be the ones who are inconvenienced !

Great idea, I daresay the woolly headed PC brigade would have a whinge about it but they will have to get over it too ...

I think you must research this as at present these sources only contribute about 10 % of electricity supply in Europe. The other fact this that green energy is not green as the equipment used are not green, for example the batteries used in solar energy storage and electrical cars. Most green enertgy resouces are not reliable, solar only when there is sun and wind when there is wind. Due to this there is always an energy gap that must be filled by conventional sources which is reliable. The visual pollution of alternative energy sources will become an issue, the unsightly solar and wind farms creates a wasteland. The scientific truth is howevr that electrical vehicles is highly inefficient. During each process of creating, transporting and using electricity there is a loss in the energy (heat). For example you use sun to provide solar electricity. There is an energy loss between the suns energy and the efficiency of the solar panels, then between the solar panel and the electric vehicle there is further losses in energy. This is highly inefficient compared to a direct fuel source in vehicles like fossile fuels. I believe that electrical vehicles will only be gap stop before an efficient and clean alternative to fossile fuel will be found.

Agree, all electric is a nice dream but impractical, even if there were finite supplies of power the infrastructure for charging vehicles is many years (decades) off. The only viable alternative appears to be hydrogen, however it is very volatile and combustible, so back to the drawing board for the boffins

Blanket statements such as yours & by others just do not reflect reality. I personally know a few Muslim refugees in Australia & they are very well integrated in Oz society, some would not be, same would apply for those from other faiths / regions.

A few being the operative word, other faiths might possibly struggle to integrate initially but Muslims, generally refuse to integrate or assimilate, another true blanket statement.....

  16. 6 hours ago, Phuketboy said:

Never understood this refugee exchange.  Australia gives their refugees to America and America gives their refugees to Australia.  At the end of it all you are still stuck with .... you guest it "Refugees".  Sounds like a waste of time and money.

It may sound like a waste of time and money initially, until you see the massive benefit to Australia of not having to take muslims

    No evidence they were "gambling"
