It aint that good really.... You can only stay here for up to 180 days, then extend for another 180 days... That is only 360 days. There are 365 days in a year, so it means you have to leave the country for 5 days every year. You will also have to pay 1900 every extension. So with the 10K fee that doubles the cost over 5 years. I may as well just keep on my 12 month extended non-imm O visa, it requires just 1 immigration visit per year and is half the price.

Which Side Will Thailand Choose?

Putin was pushed to invade... In fact when he eventually did the west were rubbing their hands in glee... Then their proxy war totally fell to pieces. When they showed you the satellite images of Russian troop buildups on the border, they didn't show you the 160,000 NATO trained and armed Ukrainian troops assembled and ready to invade the Donbass and slaughter the ethnic Russians there and all on the orders of their western masters. NATO and EU membership was never on offer.... It was the carrot and the stick and whatever they have on Zelensky who is by the way a billionaire all of a sudden.... Not bad work for a second rate comedian. Oh and it also didn't help when Zelensky was running around the Munich Security Forum in December 2021 telling all the European leaders 'We are getting into NATO and we are getting nukes'.... -

Can you please name who he eliminated?.... Don't say Navalny, even the west has now admitted that he died of a strokem also Navalny has already ran againstn Putin and got less than 1% of the vote... In fact his biggest electoral success was for Moscow mayor and he got about 7%.... He was political nobody and so never a threat to Putin. As for anyone else expelled from running all have close ties and therefore funding from the west usually through the New Endowment for Democracy, the funding wing of US regime change all around the world. They even do it here in Thailand. Also all these stupid rumours that he was a ruthless KGB agent responsible for assassinations... Hahaha.... He was a lawyer in the KGB, that's it... A pen pushing lawyer. Not exactly the person you send out on hits. -

The USA will walk away from Ukraine in utter failure and leave Europe holding the bag. Like they did in Afghanistan leaving $90 billion of weapons for the Taliban and not even bothering to tell the Brits..... Lol -

The Americans are the mad ones, also Putin is no dictator... He won an election with 87% of the vote, those who came second got less than 5% with a record voter turnout and observed by representitives of over 80 countries worldwide to witness they were free and fair. In fact the US threatened some of the observers with sanctions if they attended, meaning the US did not want the elections to look legitimate. Meanwhile in the free and democratic USA, one side is trying to jail their opponent while students are being clubbed with batons for protesting the US involvement in genocide. While threatening to sanction everyuone in the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court. -

Those who seem to think the USA is militarily invincible have not studied the history of US performance in the art of war.... Fricken embarrassing and about to lose their proxy war in Ukraine. tut tut.... They don't even have hypersonic missiles and never will have them and those are the war winners. Russia, China, Iran and now even N Korea have hypersonics... 100% successm US HIMARS, ATACMS, British Storm Shadow and French Scalp, all being shot down by Russian air defences at least at a rate of 95%... That is an utter humiliation. Abrams tanks, Leopard 2 tanks, Challenger 2 tanks, Bradley IFVs all burning on the battlefield. All were called 'game changing wonder weapons'... They all turned out to be a complete joke. If the US launched a nuclear attack on any of the 4 above, most of those missiles will likely be shot out of the sky, but the same can't be said with a hypersonic missile.... For example the Avangard warhead in Russia's possession can hit speeds of up to Mach 30 and that's 37000 KPH... Good luck shooting those down. -

The tinfoil hat belongs squarely on the heads of those who deny the actual science of nuclear fission and fusion. Even David Icke your king admits nukes axist. Conspiracy theories gone completely MAD. -

They head for the USA because they have no border and they know if they head for China they would be deported in a heartbeat. It's got absolutely NOTHING to do with what is a better economy. the US doesn't have an economy, it is an ocean of debt that they will soon not be able to sustain and their currency is about to be collapsed by the new BRICS currency. It's over for the USA and that is why they are trying to start fires all over the place, and is why all those people pouring in from Mexico will learn the mistake they made. -

So you prefer Africa borrowing from the US controlled IMF is a better option?... Having to give up their vote to the USA in the United Nations and held in a debt trap designed to impoverish them is a better deal than what China offers?... You need to read Confessions of an Economic Hitman by John Perkins whose job it was to do exactly that... While China forgives debt all over the place. Taiwan is a part of China ,,, Did you know that???..... But the USA is using them as a club to batter China with. Philippines is nothing more than a fishing dispute blown out oif all proportion by the USA and their puppet Marcos. Indonesia has no beef with China you made that up. Cambodia also has no beef with Chinam Although the USA is definitely trying to create one. Sri Lanka?.... First time I heard of Sri Lanka having trouble with China. All those countries you named have one thing in common.... Their biggest trading partner by a mile is CHINA. -

Nukes are NOT fake, they really do exist... But I also believe that an all out nuclear war is very much survivable, in fact it would probably only wipe out about 10% of the global population. All this stuff about nuclear fallout and nuclear winter is way over-exaggerated. I would say the worst place to be after a nuclear war is the USA, there is something about 300 million guns being in the hands of the public that makes me think after a nuclar war, their problems are only starting.- 173 replies

For some time I have believed we are currently in a global crisis. The PROXY war in Ukraine, Israel genocide, The US trying to poke China at every opportunity. Even little UK as good as declaring war on Russia with their tiny army. If the sh7t hits the fan especially between the US and its western monkeys against China... Where will Thailand come down?? The US are going to definitely put pressure on Thailand to side with the west, but siding with China is way better for their interests. In my opinion we have never been closer to nuclear war and some US political idiots even think the US can win a nuclear war.... Hopefully the Pentagon is staffed with people who are a lot more realistic.

Thai Workers Are A Joke

Are you serious???? Toughened glass will never break, we have the same hob and the glass is almost unbreakable and still going strong after 13 years... I make my own cheese and regularly put a pot on it with 20 litres of milk at a weight of around 25 kilos. Is this the first time you have come across this type of hob?... Man you seriously need to get out more. -

Thai Workers Are A Joke
Brewster67 replied to Brewster67's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
I agree, some ARE good, but the vast majority are bad... based on my own experience I would say 70% are chancers... I come from the UK where there are lots of training programs for the basic trades with oversight and certification. In fact I don't think you can work on someone's property without the necessary certification. Here in Thailand I don't think any such thing exists, I don't think there is any certification or regulation covering trades skills. Colleges and universities are everywhere here, but none for trades it seems. Most people working in construction here are basically rice farmers working to earn some money outside the planting and harvesting season, especially here in the northeast. Every time we need some work done, my heart sinks. -

This is Homepro.... Wouldn't you think the biggest company in Thailand that covers this industry would have done that work already?.. Meaning they vet the workers they send to install their goods.- 164 replies

I have never seen such aweful quality of workmanship as I have seen here in Thailand. We just bought a new load of bathroom fixtures as the old ones were starting to look a bit tatty such as chrome starting to look aged. The guy who fitted the new toilet has left out the wax ring because when he fitted it the water refused to drain out of the toilet for some reason. So he left it off and said call him if it leaks. The guy fitting the shower tried to fit it so low that it would only be capable of showering an either very short person or a child. Then we find out that there is only a 30 day warranty on the installation work.. The irony is that my brother in law is actually the regional manager for the whole northeast of Thailand for Homepro home installation department. Oh and once again they left a terrible mess behind them which is a feature of all Thai workers, they never clean up their mess. I remember having some work done on my house and they mixed cement directly on my tiled driveway and just left the detritus behind after them, I had to chip off all the hardened cement the next day and use acid to dissolve all the lime staining... We had an extra window fitted in one of the back rooms, the father in law said he knew a couplke of guys who were window 'experts'. after fitting we couldn't open it, so we got a different guy who told us they had fitted the window upside down... He took it back out and refitted it right way up, but the renedering work around the window is so bad it looks like he was standing on the deck of a ship in a hurricane while rendering the edges. If Thais arte seriously conscious of losing face, why do they leave such face-losing work behind them???? I have a list as long as my arm of other stuff, I would say 70% of work done by Thais is of very bad quality.

How To Avoid The 'Wham Bam, Thank You' Scam
Brewster67 replied to Brewster67's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I knew her online for 1 year and then 2 years here before I agreed to get married. But this thing is not tied to marriage (for those saying no need to marry), it can happen outside of marriage just as long as the farang was daft enough to buy the land, house and car. -
How To Avoid The 'Wham Bam, Thank You' Scam
Brewster67 replied to Brewster67's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
To be honest, I have personally known victims of this and none of them play around behind their girl's back... In fact in 13 years I never met a farang that did that... But then again I don't live in the flesh pits of Thailand. There are no bars where I live that are like Pattaya etc.... -
Been in Thailand for 13 years, happily married to a Thai girl for 11 years... I am sure most of you know about the 'wham bam, thank you' scam. Farang from the west, comes to Thailand, possibly a regular visitor playing the bars and the girls, eventually meets 'the one'. Guy falls in love, she tells him he is different, even possibly refuses money (playing the long scam). Takes him to meet the family in some rural location, everyone loves him.. She takes him around temples and places of interest, indulges him with proper Thai culture. Guy goes home keeps in touch regular online chats, messaging etc etc...... Maybe goes to visit her a couple more times, decides to sell up in the west, move to Thailand permanently, buys that plot of land, builds a house on it, buys the shiny new pickup truck or SUV, usually in the girl's name for ease... Maybe by now they are married and even possibly a kid is in the picture. Then BAM!... Suddenly out of the blue the girl seems to go a bit cold, tensions are in the air, she scowls more than she smiles, then an argument is engineered. You are introduced to the end of the long scam. You lost the girl, your kid, your land, house car.... How many times have we read this??? I met my wife through an online community game, we started chatting, I hated living in the UK and always wanted to make a move abroad, so I took the chance. After having been in contact with her for over a year I finally made the move. I rented out my house in the UK and bought a 2 week return ticket with the intention of never going back. I make a living online, so I have an income no matter where I am. I spent almost 2 years here before finally getting married, I lived without a car no problem because my girl had one, I rented during that time... Once married I sat my wife down and explained to her that if we were to spend our lives together, I will buy a house and car, BUT.... The house has to be through a mortgage and the car on monthly payments. I had the moiney to buy both but I had read too many of these long scams, as much as I love my wife I want to be secure... I pay the mortgage and the car is already paid off. You see, if it all went south after a couple of years, I would walk away with minimal losses, the wife would be the one lumbered with the monthly payments, its all in her name, so she ends up paying for it. Call it mercenary but my wife understands... When I read all these horror stories like the one above I shake my head at how foolish the farangs were. In fact I know a Canadian guy who is just 2 years here with his relatively new wife and is currently building that huge dream home.. I give him a 50/50 shot.... Many of these stories that end like this might not even start out a s a scam, the girl may be genuine at the start... But there is a huge temptation dangling in front of her, she is suddenly launched from coming from nothing to suddenly having a 10 million baht house and 2 million baht car in her name and thinking "I could turn that lot into cash and my family would be set for life".... THAT has got to be tempting. It is also a common element that she is externally pressured from certain family members. Many of these disasters could have been avoided if they took my advice and did it the way I did it. Hope this helps anyone thinking about making the big leap, don't leave your country without your brain...

You point to a single example that is an exception to reinforce your narrative that Thailand is a terrible lawless place... Then end with an insult to show everyone who really IS the child here..... Added to my 'ignore list'....

Thailand is my home, NOT the UK sh******* Look up the word 'home' in the dictionary, it doesn't define it as the country you were born in, it is the place where you live.
