  1. I couldn't be happier then to see all the encroaching businesses demolished and sunchairs removed along the King's Phuket beaches. A miracle has taken place. I would never have believed that could have happened prior to the coup. Prime Minister Prayuth deserves the praise of everyone for accomplishing that.

The people who live here are overwhelmingly positive about these moves. Phuket Beaches haven't looked this great for many years. The corruption that allowed the beaches to be sold off took a major hit.

There is a minority of business people who blame the tourism slowdown on these moves. The tourism slowdown has nothing to do with eliminating these encroaching businesses and sunchairs off the beach. There is a global slowdown in tourism caused by the slowing of world economy. Russian, China, Austrailia are all part of this. Blaming government policies on beach sunchairs for the tourism slowdown is ridiculous. They aren't allowed on the beaches of western nations.

I get sick of hearing the tourism slowdown blame placed on the beautification of Phuket's beaches. Instead of spouting this nonsense, people should be selling how much better our beaches are since they are no longer a parking lot of sunchairs! The positive aspects of this beautification far outweigh any inconvenience there is of lying on a soft mat rather than a beach chair.

Phuket beaches are beautiful now. That's the bottom line. The business community must accept that reality and stop the bitching.

The people have won. Thank Buddha. And to those tourists who say they won't return because they can't plant their ass on a plastic lounger and have a runner grabbing their Singhas...bye. Others will be here to appreciate our beautiful beaches. There is nothing like what we offer in Phuket, the food, the people, the beaches. Not in Vietnam. Not in Cambodia. Not in Bali. Not anywhere.

cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif Where have you been in Vietnam if I might ask ... ? They have better beaches, tastier food and friendlier people but they could learn from Phuket how to scam cause they dont do that like in Phuket ... gigglem.gif

  2. My wife and I lived at the resort until earlier this year. Good condo block, not far from a local fresh market and great for runners. I ran everyday and it was convenient.

    Pool ok, gym average.

I agree, Aussieroaming. The Resort look fine and pool area is great. Can you tell me if its a quiet condominium as our real estate agant told us that its almost empty ...

What Agency did you use, any pros / cons ?

  3. “Thailand right now is in the crucial and significant stage to eliminate this deadliest disease. We must work together to build immunity against this evil that had undermined the country in the past years, and prevent this disease from resurfacing.”

He should have said "undermined the country in the past 200 years" ... Not to mention a Military Coup every 4-5 years in average

He might think he´s King of the World but at UN in NYC, he will realize that he is just a low life ...

  4. I had good luck with ChiangMai Properties. Their office is across (sort of) from the Shangri La. Eak there showed me around and was very patient. I found a place in that price range here at The Shine Condominiums between Chang Klan and Chareon Prathet. Good luck!

I agree that Chiang Mai Properties are by far the most professionel Real Estate Agency in CM - its hard to believe that some of the other Agencies actually are closed on sundays ...

  5. Thamrong said the policy raised public awareness about traffic accidents and encouraged drivers to be more disciplined while using the roads. He said the policy would help the hospital save money and personnel if police could enforce it for the long term.

and there we have the problem : Police not enforcing the Laws - yes I have seen some checkpoints where they take money from people not wearing helmets but the daily crazy driving continues ...

  6. These.ambassadors wont help at all

Noone knows them outside Thailand and certainly no foreigners know them. So the execs at TAT. Know exactly zero about advertising this country as a destination. Colossal waste of time and money. These are old washed up second rate actors

how are they going to help?

My thaiwife looked at the pics of the 2 "Celebrities" : "I have no idea who they are" was her response ... Another stroke of genius from TAT ... crazy.gif

Before ascribing any significance to your somewhat commonplace post, one would need to know a little bit more about your Thai "wife".

Put the bottle down and realize we dont all have bargirls for wifes ... gigglem.gif but good luck with that whistling.gif
