Yes, I have to get back and do my 2021 taxes in the US, so hopefully things will change before my return in Oct. when I try and apply for another "NON-O," only show stopper I see is Covid-19 insurance since I am 75. So I will apply for the extension and see what happens later. Thanks for all the replies, Take care  and "BE SAFE!"

Why don't you make your taxes online, is that possible ?

There is no 20 day extension that exists.

And no extension for less than 90 days and that is for volunteer work the rest are all one year extensions unless married to or the parent of Thai you can get a 60 day extension.

so basically if someone enters in Thailand on a  NON-O marriage visa after the first 90days, 60days extension can be obtained at the border immigration office and then followed by 1year extension at the local immigration office.
Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

    3 days more ???

Its 7 days in ASQ / AQ unable to leave the room vs 7 days in an SHA Plus+ hotel Phuket and can use hotel facilities and roam the island at your will....   Sandbox is also cheaper.

From your perspective you could apply with a Plan A and Plan B option.

Plan A - apply for Thailand Pass Sandbox Option (submitting all documentation including Vaccine Cert).

Plan B - apply for Thailand Pass Alternate Quarantine Option (using refundable hotel bookings etc).

Thank you Richard for your advice, I'm fully aware of the situation.

I meant 3 day more compared with fully vaccinated vs not vaccinated, for AQ.

My Janssen shot was on  March 15th 2021,so I'm afraid that by the time I get to Thailand it won't be useful anymore as I'm not planning to get vaccinated with a booster shot.

I been stuck with the Visa issuance for the past two months and I don't have anymore patience of jumping another hoop.

What a nightmare, two months to obtain a visa, could you believe.

I have read recently that they are having people to self isolate if they are asymptomatic or only have mild symptoms.

In your case that would be done at the hotel.

You would have regular checks by medical personnel and be given antiviral meds if needed.

Then when you have a negative test they would release you from quarantine if you have done the required number of days .

I get confused after I  read the AQ hotel rules in case of positive, person will have to be transferred to hospital. So my concern is that same will happen if sitting next to / scenario happens.

My goal is to find out how to skip paying for a high price private hospital of sitting next to /scenario.So anyone wishes to come in Thailand can do the same. But before that we need confirmed information if is really like that as we think it is.

    Does AQ solve this issue?

Where have you read about self isolation? Can you provide a link, please.

    And,

Where the self isolation have been conducted?

  5. Dear fellows,

It is clear that if you sitting next to someone on an airplane and that person is Covid positive after the arrival ,you will be taken to a hospital for isolation on your expense, even if you are not positive.

But what happens if I book AQ in Bangkok and this scenario happens. Am I going to remain in my AQ or taken to private hospital for isolation ?

    Any thoughts.....

  6. Hi all,

I'm planning to do the Phuket Sandbox and my wife and my kids(they are Thai ,currently in Udonthani )would like to stay in the same room with me in the hotel that I will be staying.

    Any rules on that ?

That is allowed right ,after I test negative. OR.......this situation makes me awkward

  7. Well, border run is crossing the border so you could get a stump on your way back, in order to extend your stay in Thailand.Ofcourse you will need the right visa, for example multi entry TR.

Currently there is NO border runs because of Covid restrictions. And as far as I know the embassies are not issuing multi entry vissas

I have not seen anything in the rules for the Thailand Pass for any amount of time for a vaccines efficacy.

There is a requirement that you must be fully vaccinated for at least 14 days.

    That's right, indeed.

But my concern was after I did some search on the web in general about the vaccines. I find out that vaccine I have Janssenbiotech is valid for 270 days after 22nd day of vaccination. So I was afraid that by the time I enter in Thailand will be too late for me.

Since there is no such a rule in Thailand about this, for now, I'm good to go.I hope.

  9. Dear fellows ,

I need to send my Visa application by post along with the visa fee to the Thai Embassy in Ankara. I'm in Macedonia and I already fail with DHL.When courier ask me if there is money in the envelope I sayed Yes,because I know that is illegal to send money by post.Even I packed the money in the envelope along with a thick post card and paper in color ,I couldn't lie.So now I'm planning to try with a different post TNT, they are little slower compared with DHL but I think it's worth to try.

Any one with a similar experience ?

Has anyone send money with post before ?

    Any advice most appreciate,

    thank you

I'm actually not in thailand at the moment but considering getting married there and starting a business there. Probably on the futurewife's name and i'd just work there(i'm assuming this would cover the working and paying taxes requirements, correct?).

How long have you stayed in Thailand before ? It's seems that you need to do a lot of homework ???? before opening a business in Thailand ,buddy.

If you don't mind , In what kind of business are you interested ?

As the Farangs told me one time, don't invest money that you are not ready to lose (this is generally for the foreigners in Thailand )

However, I wish you luck on your adventures

No...  the Visa application process and Thailand Pass application process are two separate process.

When applying for a Thailand Pass at https://tp.consular.go.th there is no requirement to upload any visa information.

You do not need to submit a flight ticket for the Thailand Pass application, but you do need to know your travel / arrival date and arriving flight number.

AQ / SHA++ certified accommodation needs to be Pre-Paid and include RT-PCR tests and Transport from Airport to hotel.

Thats it.... But.... your hotel may require your flight details as they need to arrange transport.

    Also Note: Regulation changes:

From 16 Dec - arrivals do not need to take an RT-PCR test and stay over night at a AQ / SHA++ hotel.

Lateral Flow tests (Antigen Tests) will replace RT-PCR test, the results of which are instant (within 5 mins).

ATK (Antigent Test Kits) are administered by the Hotels - thus the AQ / SHA++ hotel still requires a booking for the test and transport (but not an over-night stay).

Of course, IF the ATK is positive - I’m assuming the hotel arranges transfer to a nearby hospital (I suspect this is where some level of control / containment is placed at the responsibility of the hotel).

    Rule Changes:

    https://www.tatnews.org/2021/11/thailand-eases-entry-rules-from-16-december-2021/

Additionally: Watch out for further rule changes as the Omicron variant sends the frighteners up the trouser legs of those in decision making power.

Thank you very much for your response.

    It's much clear now

  12. Please can someone clarify.

I'm so confused and need some help, please.

Do I need valid Visa in the application process for Thai Pass?Do I need to have a paid airplane ticket or just a reservation?Does the hotel accommodation have to be paid or reservation only ? I have Janssenbiotech vaccine and I know that insurance is required. Anything else that I missing?

I was an early user of the Thailand Pass system when they didn’t provide an access code to check the status. I applied for 3 family members. My wife’s and daughter’s approval came about 5 days later. However, my son’s approval took 5 submissions and an email to the support email address before he received his approval about a week later. His first application was rejected claiming I didn’t provide proof of the test and go package even though I provided the same documents for all 3 family members. Not having a QR code for the vaccination record may still cause a delay, but it is still acceptable.

    Thanks for sharing

@darkobeli, something I missed asking earlier.    Are you currently in the Macedonia region of Greece or the nation know known as North Macedonia?   If the former, with proper vaccination proof, you can (I believe) participate in the “test and go” program.    If the later, I don’t believe North Macedonia is exempt from quarantine.    All have to do Thailand Pass though.

Yes I'm currently in Macedonia.Macedonia forcefully changed the name to North Macedonia because of the politic issues. but that is another story.

I'm aware that my country is not on the list of 63 low risk countries and my best option is the Sandbox, Phuket.

Thank you for your concern,my friend.

I'm pretty sure, as Thailand has indicated it is optional and, furthermore, the US did not give Thailand access to the QR code database (a few weeks ago, it was only Singapore and EU that gave access), so I don't think they can verify at all.   As was said, approval might be slower (although, my approval came back in 1 day and others are reporting quicker turnarounds than the first week of Thailand Plus).  Good luck and report back your experience!

Oh, I didn't know that is optional. Now I can breathe much easier. Thanks a lot for your reply tjintx.Certainly I will share my experience.
