Or.... the smokers who insist on sitting in the indoor section and light-up.

For example, there's a restaurant that I frequent that has both indoor and outdoor sections. The indoor section has multiple "no smoking" signs complete with graphics, however people (typically Europeans) inevitably sit at one of the tables an arms-length from a no-smoking sign and start smoking as if the sign doesn't apply to them.

The "cough, cough" you'd hear from me isn't fake or exaggerated. I have a hypersensitivity to cigarette smoke, and when eating near someone smoking, the food tastes as if I'm licking the inside of an ashtray. That's why I seek out restaurants with no-smoking areas. Unfortunately, more often than not, my meal is completely ruined by some d**khead who thinks he has the divine right to ignore the regulations or policies and foul the air that the customers around him have no choice but to breathe.

and you do not have a problem with the air that you breathe? with all the car fumes especially when the people let them rum because it is hot   my god , i have heard it all now...

    Lame story.

They used (free) school labs and (free) materials, with (free) scientific research (teachers) to recreate a known formula and then claimed it only cost them the equivalent of $2.00/pill.

Also, the drug had previously been marketed at $13.50 per pill which would have covered the cost of the initial R&D, testing, approvals and marketing costs (as well as the mark-up of course) because the people that developed the drug in the first place were paid scientists, working for companies that had to buy the lab equipment and materials and fund all the other expenses. It can take years of research by teams of highly qualified scientists to develop a drug. It could take 10s or 100s of millions of dollars in salaries, equipment, materials and testing before they can finally put it on the market.

The <deleted> that bought the company making those pills and then jacking the price up to $750 per pill was trying to recoup the cost of his purchase by assuming that the new price would be covered by existing government/insurance deals that would be forced (more or less) to pay whatever he asked. (He had to reduce that price though due to the tidal wave of negative press he got.)

To put it another way, all these kids did was walk into a Toyota manufacturing plant and under the supervision of experienced engineers and using established designs, pick and choose different parts until they finally were able to recreate a working Corolla and then claim they did it cheaper than what Toyota sells the cars for.

Same idea as; someone hands you a free box full of IKEA parts and a blueprint for a coffee table and you make the table (with help from IKEA engineers) and then claim you built it cheaper than what IKEA charges. Lame.

It would be newsworthy if they'd come up with a new drug that had the same effects and were able to produce it for just $2.00/pill.

Well you do need to take a happy pill maybe every hour, i think these kids have done a great service, most drug companies do charge much more than they should for drugs that help people live a better life, i think that these companies should be made to show more accountability as to their costs, after all  are we all not here to help our fellow man and women??

  4. Hi Everyone,

I seem to remember that one of the aussie guys wrote a couple of weeks ago about taking his fourbie to aus, I am not able to find the tread, so was hoping to catch up with him or if someone else knows the rules as to how get mine over there and with who and also the costs, I am not sure about getting it registered once I get it to aus. I would appreciate any good advice, thanking you all in advance.

  5. Hi People,

To start i need to tell you all, i am not very tech.savvy i am now not working and find that the tv is mostly just thai i did read a bit about some black box out of england 125 quid less some discount for being a visa member, can anybody point me in the right direction as to what i should get to be able watch english speaking movies?  the local people here in ayutthaya said to put a black dish on the roof and that will do the trick, but last time i tried one of those it did not give me much variety, thanks in advance.

     eddie.

  6. In reality, there's dozen more, if not hundreds of them hiding all over Thailand, all the local cops have

to do is take this more seriously, but because there's no rewards, and these guys didn't commit the crime

on Thai soil, there's not much interests in apprehending them.... offer a reward and you'll see how many

    they'll catch.....

Yeah, the Thai police could just arrest every farang in Thailand and lock us up until we could prove we were not wanted elsewhere--plenty of the farangs would be willing to pay the facilitation fees to be released.

What a load of rubbish, try some other drugs,

  7. The learning curve of my college students:

They have studied English sins first year in primary school but when they get to the college they can still not write their names in English and their hand writing looks like something you expect form a student in 1st grade.

I asked/teached them "How are you?" everyday for 5 months and then after the 2 month break (April-May) they didn't remember the meaning of the question or how to answer it.

Then I'm supposed to teach them subjects like "Principals of Animal Husbandry", "Agricultural Industry" and "Poultry Raising" in English... there is now way in hell that they will be able to speak English in 3 years!!!

I think you need to polish up on your english skills, before you throw stones at others. taught ,, no,, and some others.....

  8. Perhaps they should have addressed them to "occupant' ...sending letters to unnamed residents on political issues is a well worn democratic practice, not delivering a stamped letter is a crime. ....I know, I am just joking.

Ordinarily also opening sealed letters is a crime....but this is Thailand where politics is a crime larger than murder.

I am quite happy to have my mail opened if the right people think it may contain something which could cause harm to me or my family, also in this day and age of terrorist i think stamped or not , please open

  9. Many young men are known to take viagra even though they may not need the drug not knowing that it "LOWERS BLOOD PRESSURE". Men with low blood pressure can die of heart failure,That is why in Western countries it is only sold to men with a doctor;s prescription. This might had have happened here.

What you are saying is not true, these tabs. enlarge the blood vessels to allow more blood to enter the penis...

  10. Legal African teacher in Thailand?

Sir, allow me to buy you a drink.

Thank you for your kind offer, but my religion doesn't allow me to drink alcohol

Yes I am fully legal, with a work permit, and pay my taxes in full, which I might add, without going off topic, appear to be quite high at 28% of my gross.

sounds like a troll to me, if you are not happy to be here ,,, then look at all the other options available to legal teachers, many countries require GOOD teachers, and maybe the taxes in those countries would suit you??

  11. You would think there would be better/full competition and federation insurance to cover accidents like this.

400k baht would be the deductible in the USA. Talk about minimalist insurance. whistling.gif

In lots of cases, you can not get insurance for this type of activity as it is classed as high risk, even scuba diving insurance is hard to come by, i agree the event should cover any injuries to competitors, if it was"s for these people there would not be any competition.
