Hey guys,
Are Thai passport holders/residents permitted to transit through Beijing international airport without a visa? Nothing I have read would suggest it, however, I'd like to be sure.
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/china/708095-china-24-72-144-hour-transit-without-visa-twov-rules-master-thread.html
link above states specifically that Thai's are ineligible, but not sure of the authenticity of the source.
any further information would be greatly appreciated. -
Hey guys,
I've been with this Thai girl for almost 2 years now, and I want to bring her to live with me in Canada but neither of us are ready to get married. She is 25 and works for the government and is prepared to leave to come and live in Canada. She has more than 500K thai baht in her bank account, and she can get more from her parents if needed. What is the most realistic option for us? Should we be optimistic of the options available to us?
Thanks -

Can anyone give me a rough estimation on the timeframe?
also, would like to hear more opinions on whether or not it's a good idea to mention that she has a BF in Canada in her application.
thanks in advance.

Thanks for the answers guys. All of that is fine, she definitely has more than needed financially speaking for the education and cost of living here for more than a year. Her English is also at a decent level and I'm sure she'd fair well on the exam.
How much time would this process all take her?
Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, I have a Thai GF in her mid 20s, currently working a government job (decent salary compared to Thai average). She's looking to quit her job to come out to Canada to study. She's looking to do a year or two in an English class before entering a real university to study computer science.
has anyone done this before? Is this possible? If yes, what requirements will have to be met? Is it better for her to include the fact that she has a BF here? I don't want them to question her purpose here as she is genuinely looking to study.
Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I can and I do, however, it's kind of a "bring your own team, or be stuck with the worst players" here. Plus I think it's a great way to meet other foreigners.

Hey guys!
I'm looking for some foreigners to play some basketball with over the next few months. If you're in chiang mai and looking to get back in shape/have fun playing some basketball, please PM me.
Goodnight!

Expensive or not, any experiences/recommendations?

Waxing difficult to find? In Thailand?!
-
Hey guys, usually get my waxing done at fah lanna spa, but they're not providing those services this month since they are still "training" some new ppl to do it... did some research and found good recommendations on peak spa but after calling in I learned that they no longer provide waxing services...
I am looking for a clean place, with good service, don't really mind the price. If anyone has any suggestions they'd like to share, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows of any barbers in Bangkok that can cut nice fades, who're available for doing house calls. Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, I don't quite understand. If the business I'm looking to open only requires, for instance, 500K baht to start, can I legally buy into 49% of the business under my own name?
I know I can just put it all under her name, but I'd like to have my name under the business on paper.
Thank you!

Hey guys,
Before I start, I'd very much appreciate it if we left the "you're burning your money" comments out of this thread. I am ok losing the amount I'll be investing.
I want to open a business in Thailand (chiang mai), I've read that to get a work permit, there are some mandatory rules, like having 2M Baht invested. My question is, do I NEED to invest 2M thai Baht into my 49% share considering I won't be needing a work permit/don't plan on working a single minute? My gf would own the 51% and she'd run it full time. Ideally my share would cost me 300-500K.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Ok I'm thinking of a way to just move her here and live here with me for a few months, while she studies, would it be a good idea to have her apply for a student visa?
-
If I flew her out to a country in South America, how smooth would the transit be through USA, Canada, and UK? Assuming she has to transit through one of those countries to arrive in SA.
-
Have you ever met your GF, person to person, same spot?
I lived with her for 3 months
-
What's an estimated probability she'd be granted a tourist visa? Would a student visa be better if I want her here long term?
-
Ok, so reading through some of these posts has gotten me feeling optimistic... I'm starting to think her coming to Canada is a possibility, what do you guys think we should do, considering the following:
She is 23, just graduated from university, lives in Chiang Mai, works as a mathematics teacher, has close to no money to her name (40,000 Thai baht), no history of travel (she actually just got her passport today), her mom and dad are simple pot makers, and aren't "rich". She will have vacation days from her work between July 16th - July 24th, and she wanted to visit between those dates (so for about a week).
I am 23 also, however I don't really have a "job", I have money, and I can definitely send her money if it helps her get here, but as far as creating a document for invitation, I don't think it would be very helpful.
What is the best thing to do here? Hire an agency? Thanks in advance.

Yes I don't want to fly for more than 6 hrs to meet her, I am in Toronto. I would fly her out to a country that she can get in without having to apply for a visa.

Hey guys, I've done quite a bit of research and it seems like the success rate of getting Thai passport holders a tourist visa for Canada are slim to none. So I'm looking for the second best option, which would be meeting her somewhere close by. I wouldn't want to fly for more than 6 hours, any suggestions where I can fly her out to meet her for a week without issues/hassle?

I'd just like to start off by saying, the amount of problems I've ran into while in Thailand is so sickening! Anyways, so I booked a return flight from Toronto (YYZ) to Chiang Mai (CNX), the flight here looked like this:
Toronto -> Shanghai -> Kunming -> Chiang Mai
Which was sweet and easy.
The flight back, however, looks like this:
Chiang Mai -> Kunming -> Tianjin -> Shanghai -> Toronto
Before I was able to check in at Chiang Mai airport to return back to Canada, the lady told me I would be unable to fly into Tianjin because, according to her, there is a restriction when transiting through that city, and it requires a Chinese visa. So now, I'm considering what my best options are... I'm thinking of going into the Chinese embassy, but what exactly would I tell them I am applying for? Is there a good chance that I'll be given a visa just to transit through that city? Thanks in advance! If this is in the wrong section, please move it.

Do you have any idea how much it costs to rent the court out for an hour? An address/contact number would be great.

thank you for the answers, guys. To be specific, yes, she has a connecting flight in less than 24 hrs, and she will be inside the secure airside area for the full duration of her layover.
