Haha good answer! But seriously, are Thai trains safe?
-
Errrr... I guess it's too late to ask this, but... Are these trains safe? I was expecting a more smooth ride, feels like we're getting derailed every 2 seconds lol
-
Thank you all for all the help! Couldn't have done it without y'all. If there is a word that's "easier" than breeze, I would use it, because getting through immigration was an absolute breeze. She just looked through, stamp, stamp, stamp, and handed me over my passport. If anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to answer... Looking forward to this 12 hr train ride

Is there food on the train? Wifi? You think I'll be able to knock out on second class?
-
Got through immigration will post in more detail later, at the train station and need to make a quick decision, train gets here in 30 minutes, they don't have first class, but they have second class, with sleeper. Thoughts? Will I be comfortable? Comfortable enough to sleep?
-
What's the latest bus leaving from there? Can anyone else confirm NCA over train?
-
FML, lol... I'm gonna try to get first class, if that doesn't work out, going to grab some clothes (didn't pack for enough days it seems) and knock out at a hotel, leave early morning to Chiang Mai. Apparently I was "randomly selected" for a security check, which I found to be quite strange... Anyways I'm on flight now, and should be departing soon. Will keep updated about what happens once I arrive in Bangkok.
-
Aren't there different classes for the train ride? First class seats not available? What's the cost going to be? How long is the ride? Sorry for all the questions, thank you for all the answers.
-
Also how much Thai baht cash will I need? Or is it online booking only?
-
You guys are giving me hope. Fwiw, I have priority seat also, so I'll be the first off the plane. But what time is it expected to be at don mueang station?

Catching the 18:40 flight: UNSUCCESSFUL.
Going to take the 20:40 flight and take a train to cnx. IF there's a train that rides out that late?
-
Just landed, I'm trying to catch that 18:40 flight, not too optimistic though...

Thank you for the quick responses

It seems the consular officer noticed your denial of entry for lack of financial proof. It was good you could show your bank account info.
I would avoid the Phuket entry. As said they can be a problem. You also might want to avoid entering at Chiang Mai. KL to DMK and then Chiang Mai is what I would suggest.
If denied entry again your tourist visa would still be valid. Having the equivalent of 20k baht in another currency is acceptable. It might be wise to try and do printout of your bank account info also.
Is it possible to get a printout at the airport?

Sorry for all the posts but my flight out of Kota Bhuri has just been delayed by an hour. So I am to arrive in KL at 18:10 local time. And I guess I'm drawing dead to flights to cnx at that point.. Im thinking of flying into Bangkok and just taking train to chiang Mai.
-
Looks like I <deleted> up, KL to Phuket 18:30 flight is fully booked... What about KL -> BKK -> CNX?
-
Is it ok that I have 20K+ baht in another currency?
-
What happens if Phuket decides to deny me entry? My Tourist Visa is no longer valid? How often does this kind of thing happen?
-
Wow that was a close call, she asked me for my bank statement once I got there, told her I have more than 20K baht in my bag, she still insisted on the bank statement, so I logged into online banking and showed her that. After about 20 minutes, I got my passport with the tourist visa. She said I will have to provide bank statements and cash once I land wherever I will be landing. So hopefully I am in Chiang Mai by tonight. (yn)

Thai Immigration now has a nationwide, centralized electronic dbase system. Your overstay is now a permanent data entry, in that system. The Third World "tourist party" is over , boys! Good luck OP.

this may be relevant to others who read through this post, so I'm just going to post it here. I've been trying to find direct flights from Kota Bharu to Thailand, but it seems there are none. At least for tomorrow. What's the fastest way I can get from Kota Bharu to Chiang Mai, considering I will pick up my passport by 2PM and can at the airport by 2:30PM? I don't mind spending money, I just want the fastest method of getting from Kota Bharu -> Chiang Mai tomorrow. Thanks in advance.
Private jet. Contact the airport.
this sounds like a decent option, how much, approximately, would I be looking at spending for a flight straight to Chiang Mai?

Also, is there a chance I can get passport + visa earlier than 2PM?

Would it be premature to book my flight to Thailand right now?

Hey all, I'm looking for an indoor ball court to rent out. I called the 700 stadium, but it was per day rentals only. Looking to rent by the hour. Any help is greatly appreciated.
