In my time here I have done business with Indians, (after shaking hands, count to see if you still have all your fingers), Taiwanese and Japanese. When I have tried to do anything with the Thais it has been a monumental f'up. I never figured out what is wrong with these people?

I also watch the Chinese do business here and never figured out how they do it?

This country can destroy you, mentally, physically and financially.

Most Chinese do business with the thai that are originally from China.

The problem is you have 'know people' then you can do business, this is not much different then in some countries in the west.

Three pounds are a whopping 111 Baht.

Euro owners are in the happy situation of easy conversion.

    33.3 today. 3 Euro = 100 Baht.

    I started with 100 Baht = 2 Euro.

Then for long 100 Baht ~ 2.50 Euro.

    ????

    Well

In 2009 it was 1 euro 50 thb

And also not needed much money to live.

Good food and living was not so expensived the smile was a smile and the average people have not western look and additude

    2019 the 1 euro is about 32/33thb

Need a lot of money for the same things as in 2009. The food is going to average and the money needed is a lot more for the same.

The average people have western imitation look, become big and do have a more western additute in many areas. The real smile now a days is hard to find in many areas.

And the way thai do now are in price nearly the same as in the west or even more expensive than in the west.

Around 2018 we reached a point for our business that when compare the production costs that we can produce the same products we make in the west with a more constant quality in the west.

Robots and manual labour is also a balance the Thai have to keep in mind too.

It shows him again as a weak politician by blaming the officials and the government spokesmen after realizing he did it wrong.

And with what you claom to do by the refusing if the food served on wrong material also contribute to de spoilijg of food and unnecesary death of animals involved with the food.

Demanding that this never happens again and still take the food tmakes that the waist and spilling of resources has been reduced to the minimum.

    You forgot this.

In most countries old age pensioners pay less, in Thailand they will pay more!

Do not forget the increasing Thai bath exchange rate and in most countires the Thai cost for the way of living are getting as expensive or even more expensive as back home for many of the aliens in Thailand.

There are also countries that have a system with a base insurance and add on packages.

Makes that the poor have minimal health care dispite they are living in a western country or a country with a western standard based society.

That foreginers pay more then the nationals seem to be normal. Whas is,strange to see the fluctuating price for the same treatment as I oersonally have seen happening when I had an accident and for the wound dressing that had to be dien daily i have had every day different price, and all was done by the same team with the same tiols and consumables.

The same handling and consumable costs between the 800 to 1500 per time.

Not a problem because the insurance ceoverd all. And they als started to ask. At the end..... all was reduced to .... 650 thb per treatment and the first first with the two nights on IC also reduced by 40 percent.

Total period was 90 days of wound dressing.

The inscuance company involved was from abroad.

The question not answerd is the following.

What about the NON-O that are based on take care of thai national.

Take care of child ir the take care of thai partner.

In the past this was also an expection for other things too.

  5. If the local partner not want to support the conpany you work for. What kind of realtoon do you have.

The work you are going to do has to be work a thai can not do.

And since thai do more themselfs soon you will be replaced like all foreigners will in the long run. Unless you are here with a BOI.

All is straight forward and the onestop shop service centers of the goverment can help you out.

The problem you face and your company is that you probably not doing work that is on foreigner work.

Beside that if your thai partner companies not back you up you will have a very hard time and success will be very slim.

Unless of course it is that you have a lot of money to spent and be the Investor then the BOI will support you.

When asked to me the way you describ things.

You made the wrong start and seem to have the wrong thia partners (for this).

In every country the local partner who is really a partner will help you to succeed that is my first hand experience.

Well that was a wasted coup.  Anyway gave the Army something to do.

Not so sure about that is was a wasted coup, since it seems that the same person is responcible for beening late of regestring the Thai educational systen as well other things to the internatonal comunity that make the many Thai certifoxated and diplomas are not regonized and becasue of this thai people are limited in working abroad like being sailor in a meecheantship of a european nation without redoing all the exams. Things that would not have hapoend if this person and his adminsitration did do that what was needed.

There are more cases they not acted in the intrest of the people of Thailand.

  7. Good once in bad once out .... the slogan of Thailand under the famous Big Joke.

Good means the once who obey the Thai laws.

All people complain and vack home they expect the foreigners to obey the law. And when abraod those people have the same additude as the once they blame on back home and do demand now they rules are bent as as the alian as a foreigner want to prescribe to the country they are accpeted as guest from a friendly nation.

Wake up and if you can obey the law or comply to it you are always free to move on.

  8. With all respect yo you and other like you.

All have to add to the above story is....

When little head starts thinking, their is not enough blood left for the big head to keep all thing straight and clear.

She is just a rebound for you and for her you are the new ATM.

The harder she pulls the more she squizes out.

When she changes her name she will be given a document to that effect. To the best of my knowledge, if gets that document translated and the translation certified that should be acceptable - along with her old passport. But, are Thai's given their old passports back?

However, given the grief a refusal would cause you, I would ask at a Schengen member country's embassy - and I would ask one of their own people, not a native staff member.

Your guaranteed route would be for her not to change her name at all.

Depends on the current soin to be former husband and how she got het visa.

There are cases that people lost the visa due to devorce and the visa applocation that granted the shengen visa.

My former wife would lose her visa when she would have been devorced. By adding to this that she still has the visa and even got the dual nationality we worked it out for the convientents of both of us.

  10. The safety of passengers riding in public vans must be tackled at its root problem, the bad driving behaviours of drivers, said Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob on Tuesday.

Think better and more effect will have  is

To increase the traffic safety is to tackle at its root problem, the bad driving behaviours of thai drivers and lack of respect to the rules and regulations because they are not enforced.

  11. With the tm30 you also have to fill out the tm 28.

So foeigner tourist are also involved. They have to fill out the tm 28 just like the other foreginer have to do.

As long as you treat the tm 30 in the petion seperate from the tm 28 the foverment will never make a ruling of the tm 30 and it linked tm 28.

So the pettion has to be more sharpen and point out also the tm 28.

The lack of this pointing out will make that no one inderstand the real problem and that foregienger and tourist foreigners are treated differently

  12. Most foeigners who complain are well educated foreigners.when at home they want people to obey the law and know the law. When they are abroad for some reason they seem to forget all of this.

The instruction and obligations are clear and are since 1979 put in place.

The enforcment over the years that is a point one can debate on.

When you live here so long then you also can apply for the permeant residence and are the same as thai as well can own land too and more things like that.

Instead of complaining and forget that back home you are also the same person and then it is that you expect the same of foreigners to adapt and obey the law.

Accpet focus on the things that really matter, If you not like the system we still live in a free country and you are free to move on.

maybe could pinch in about their request to have 800K blocked at the bank, many of us are property owners, why not use the property as the collateral and allow us to use the cash for daily living expenses,

The property has no value due the that fact that only Thai can hold the land. So the property will also belong to the thai land owner.

This is even in the western countries the same.

The legal contract that recongize the ownership and can be used by foreingers and prevent this they are not legal under thai law. This has to be changed by the goverment.

When you rent land the land owner will become to owner of the asets put on the plot.

Other solution is permant the residence visa for the foreigner. Then all problems are solved and the foreigner can wven own land. No need for the 800.000 thb in the bank too.

I've not noticed much in the way of inflation.

What items do you think have gone up?

The room I rented 10 years back at 5k/month is still the same price.

Petrol is now 26bht, it was 32bht.

A kilo of bread flour is 32bht, same as it was back then.

Some things are kept artificial the same price many things did increase a lot of time 2009 till today. Iverall many things in Thailand cost nearly the same as in the west or even more.

Probably read up on the 1997 Asian financial crash.  Now Thailand has among the largest cash reserves in the world.

What do you have with cash, if the govertment worries about the Thai household debts. The personal Thai houshold debt rocket to the sky and even that seems not to be the limit. Thai household they are so high. If the news sources are correct.

Ask any police officer in the uk usa europe they will all tell you speed kills, put together with poor driving standards and lack of enforcement,i dont think its a good idea for Thailand.

Then why did they increase speed on many highways in europe to 130 km?

In a country as in the Netherlands which seems to be the highest high speed trafic desnity they have 130 km.

In the news was they want to switch on the highway lights whoke night because drivers feel safer.

Problem is nature does not cope with it.

One assumes your nephew is single working full time ($874 p.w. gross), gets holiday pay, sick pay and superannuation and is a young adult with a future. The average Thai worker in a restaurant often have to work seven days a week, 10 - 12 hours a day, no sick pay, no holiday pay and no superannuation and few future opportunities. You're comparing apples and oranges.

Why does he compare apples with oranges?

The consequenses of a higher wages is that all will get become more expensive. The effect of this is that people are still unable to survive.

The main problems is the inflation it causes. Inflation because the minimum wages are a reference to the other wages.

Thailand had not so long a go lower wages then today. And if I recall correct if raised and then many companies left like seagate in Korat due to that the Thia production costs where getting to expensive.

And what people do forget that robotisation also makes that when wages raise the prodcution cost become more expensive and for many products is is today cheaper to produce them in the west due to the strong bath and the manual labour costs.
