  1. Hi rice555,

funny, without knowing that guy I went the same way, bought a dozen of these white buckets at Home Pro, connected them with PE pipes and found out the hard way: without a cooled greenhouse dutch buckets won't work or at least the yield is way too small in our hot climate.

I kicked the whole system and focused more on "cool feet" of the plants using ebb flood grow beds.

My new redesigned system is almost complete and pics will follow soon here.

  2. What would be your words when there is suddenly no bird songs anymore on this world?

My best guess: "why the humans did kill all the birds? I remember the times as I woke up to the sound of a bird"

I agree that these red eyed feather fellow can match easy a guinea fowl but its sure not annoying if you are happy that there is one accepting your garden as a natural habitat.. Seem you do right..

She opens a new account for each client, put the money and then empty it?

In most cases she goes with the client to the bank, opens an account and puts the 800k in, you never get hand on the bankbook. As soon the procedure is completed the money gets taken off and to end up with a 500 baht bank book. But can be used next time again.

I haven't personally needed this service as I can provide more than one bank book with savings but friends of mine have shown me the books. The 800k booking was in and out in the same day.

No, it was built in the last 2 years for the Sultans of Sprint 1/8 mile drag racing / custom series throughout Europe, piloted by a woman, fairly successfully. Very Hipster. Pure form over function.

You got it right mate.. that aerodynamic disaster was also a BMW but some guy in central Germany made it and before he drove off he was just flipping over as there was almost no space to get the feet in a favorable angle to the road. Just a small wind gust knocked his balance..

But we Germans are famous for crazy bikes..

Look at the last one that went through the news made by a cartoonist called "Broesel" ("Crumble" or also a small piece of Hashish is called Brosel, - which suits more to him.)

The RED PORSCHE KILLER and what it's all about.

    Nmqbf5V.jpg.ca4988df498e86cc536918b0fe1fa69e.jpg

And the story behind it.. Unfortunately his Cartoons have been only in German and his Movies never have been synchronized. But to that time they were "bike porn" of the highest class.

That 2nd book brought me a 4 weekends duty in a Navy Training Camp because I could not stop laughing during the Lesson after I had a short sneak into the new bought book.

That Master sergeant was yelling at me and it just made it worse...

I have seen this bike before in a magazine or on the net.

I'm not sure the motor is an Enfield, (i doubt it actually), the bike is German?Austrian? owned and those photos are from a German bike meet.

Everything i read was about joking/comical remarks about not catching anything in the open chain cam drives....

Possibly a home brew JAP motor converted to DOHC. With external chains.........

    Airhead Beemer underneath this.........

That was a German BMW and was designed for racing but never made it further than a test run alike. Was the first idea for aerodynamic on low budget

At first glance, it looks like there'll be some burnt legs and melted kickstart rubber for riders of this bike. I'm sure that's something RE's designers have ensured won't happen, though.

    Seems to be true.

I have with mine the problem that I can touch with my Foot the gearbox as there is only a limited space between foot bar and the cover.

After a few kilometers its pretty hot when you forget about it but done a few times the lesson is learned.

Same Problem I had also with a Heritage Soft-tail.. You might do it 4-5 times then you will not even come close with your Ankle anymore ????

But still an enjoyable ride for just 200.000 baht in Pattaya.

My, you do read things unsaid. What I said, and what I meant, was that you were giving a good deal for 5-6. And, you even said, "Best price guarantee as usual.. "

Fully understood mate, but 20% is what I have heard from a lad in my local pub who borrowed some money in Thailand.

I find even 20% monthly a bit ridiculous..

Actually I could sure do such business, but I like my retirement visa more... ????

Ah, you are the benevolent one; 5-6 is usually compounded weekly.

So you will say I probably getting ripped off? I knew I am not a good business man.

Better I stay offshore and make my money the honest way.

Sorry franck88, my "loan shop" is closed now due to incompetence.. ????????

Hello All, has anybody got a price from Aquaponics Thailand or Accent Thailand for hydroton?

    rice555

Its about 6000 baht in the Sukhumvit Rd Flower market Pattaya opposite Bangkok Hospital.

The cheapest I found so far.

My Visit at Aquaponics Thailand in Bangkok was more or less no success as he has nothing in stock. Not even grow sponge or net pots.

It was interesting as his wife (the owner wasn't there) guided us around and took a lot time to explain the system.

Friendly for sure but as I said no stock at all.

My hydroton is since 2 years in use and sure soaked to the last bit, but still its floating. I use for later river gravel 15mm for sure..

Any gravel will do but test before.

Just take one glass full and soak in Vinegar, if it starts bubbling do not use

a 2nd glass steer into a glass of water, if the pH level changes after 24 hrs do not use

so you can be sure to have neutral gravel and don' t end up in a fight with your pH level..

  10. Pity I had just a little time to spend at home.

Just after 7 days a client called me for a new job in the North Sea for approx 4-6 weeks.

    Just for info.

The Aquariums were about 1000 baht a go and from 6 x four chamber Aquariums have already 3 built some cracks and flooded the living room.

The shop was a small aquarium shop in Sukhumvit road that makes these Aquariums to order.

It seems he used common window glass and is not that picky with his Silicone.

Sure he has seen me the first and last time.

You will be better off and spend twice the price in a real aquarium shop and buy some from the shelf..

The way to build a sufficient but small scale test system before constructing a big commercial Aquaponics system pays more and more off.

Just mention this would have been happened by around 100m of aquariums planned for the crayfish baby station?

Loss of 6000 baht is still an acceptable note into the 'lessons learned' folder.

  11. In whole Thailand you have not much choice for expanded Clay Pellets.

they are floating forever, hence more than 15cm bears the risk that they just flow over the side as soon you fill the grow beds with water. (been there done it!)

The price for clay pellets is around 6000 Baht per bag of 10Kg so 1,25 cbm will be pretty expensive.

I have changed it by using small River Rocks and just made a top layer of clay pellets.

You fill 15cm and then water on to the level you want to see your clay pellets in the grow beds.

Feel by hand below how much void space is created and then just fill the void by river rocks size 10-15 mm around. (they just sink through the clay pellets when you fill them on top of the grow beds)

River Rocks or Gravel are cheaper but also more heavy and take care not to use Limestone or anything that has influence on your ph level.

  12. I had 5 years ago the Immigration at my gate.

The dogs kept them out but they could make enough photos as I was building an aquaponics system for my wife in my backyard.

As I locked the dogs back and did let them in to be cooperative and stay out of troubles they just wanted 20000 baht.

I explained I am married and this is non commercial either its for my wife to learn her modern farming. The answer was that I have to pay or go to monkey-house.

Half way one of the lads received a phone call and they turned around brought me back home with the words "you do this for recreational reason, OKeeee no plomplom..."

My wife called some neighbor in the village who is quite a number at the Immigration and he explained as long you are married, living in that house you can do what you want in the garden as long its not for commercial reasons.

You cannot extend this works outside your ground (by meaning even carry a delivery from the street inside).

See, this is what I like about the TVF. At first you'll get some piss-taking and daft comments but gradually the advice starts to improve until you get the right answers. And go with the bangkeow dog idea too. I've a cross-breed and she can be a right nasty bugger.

At least a few people who know about dogs here..

Especially Bang Kaew will not start significantly learning before they getting 2 years but when they get the hang they even want more than 15 min per day. Never had a German Shepherd that motivated.

But that could be a reason why Bang Kaews getting sometimes a bit ferocious with the coming age.

Lucky mine turned into real guard and family dogs just when it comes to cats they lose their control an kill them in seconds as soon they sneak onto my yard.

You can use their instincts and train them but you never can switch off their instincts.
