Thank you - I live and learn (with your help.)
That's correct what jacko said. I had a "Smart TV" that died, it ended up being the power supply. I read the specs on the defective power supply; it has a 78 to 240 AC input with 24 DC output. So the power supply is actually an AC/DC converter. The TV itself is fully powered by the 24 VDC. My guess is it's to make a one size fits all for international export.

You could look into a Non-Imm M Visa. That's for media productions. I think you may be better off using or talking to an agent, as there will be multiple Visa's required and there are some restrictions that come with the M visa; travel, are you getting paid (for tax purposes), etc.

So if the drunk driver was driving completely normally and safely, and did not do anything to actually cause the accident, while the motorcyclist was driving dangerously and caused the accident to happen, it is all the fault of the drunk driver?
From the video, the van driver did not yield to oncoming traffic, so he is at fault. The motorcyclist was traveling at excessive speed, so he is also at fault. Who knows if the van driver would have seen the motorcyclist if he wasn't drunk or not but failure to yield to oncoming traffic is a common Thai driving trait. A direct result of the lack of proper driver education throughout Thailand.
RIP to the two young men, thier last seconds of life must have been terrifying.

Sadly, the most commonly available preventative in Thailand (that I'm aware of) is Yaba.Another commonly available preventative in Thailand is caffeine, a better alternative than Yaba. There's plenty of Amazon Cafe's, Starbucks, coffee shops, mini marts all over the place. Stop and take a break, walk around and get some fresh air and your blood circulating.

It’s terrible the person was killed.
I never heard of microsleep. When I go for my yearly physical next month I have to ask my doctor about that. Is it when you are not paying attention to things around you when you should be?
I think it's the fact that he did not apply the brakes. He rear ended at full speed. This is implying micro sleep (nodding off) or possibly not paying attention to his driving (mobile phone use, etc).

Isn't there some type of warning in these trucks when the bed is up? There's a video out there ( Russia I think) that shows one of these trucks taking out a pedestrian bridge. Nobody got killed but you actually see some people falling to the ground.
There should be some type of warning bell, lights, etc. in the cab when the truck moves forward over a certain speed with the bed up.

Even if there was a "Passbook Updating ATM" available it'd be a 50/50 chance, at best, that it works.

I will not renew my venture Cap One card when it expires in August. I paid the $59 annual fee last year but never again. The only reason I keep using it is because I still get 2% cash back which is more than my Navy Federal Credit Union who give me 1.75% cash back with no annual fee. Plus the NFCU works with Lazada while the Cap One does not.

Does your NFCU CC charge a foreign transaction fee or any other type of fee?

I know this is a stretch but was there a ground guide, safety observer, visual and audible motion alarm?

Change your card to Navy Federal Credit Union. It is working perfect with Lazada. They also moved my billing address from Florida to Thailand which helps along!
Which NFCU card is it? Can you pay in Baht? If you pay in USD how's the conversion rate?

Just a heads-up. I recently renewed my DL and I also renewed my passport over a year ago. They wanted to see my old passport to verify the number on my old DL. The guy was adamant about it. I was fortunate that I found a copy of the old PP in an old email. So bring your old PP or copy of it when you renew.

There's got to be more to this story than her just signing for a package. Even Thailand would not sentence someone to death if the only evidence against them was signing for thier employers package. At this point it sounds like a distraught mom trying to explain her daughters innocence to family, friends and the media. If she's innocent I hope she's acquitted real soon; if guilty, well....

So, she won't press charges against the hole?
