  1. This is so ridiculous is makes me upchuck. Thai police can't do their jobs properly with drivers or motorcyclists. Do we really think they will patrol this law? Nothing but jokes and thought it was April fool's Day again.
  2. But the police who are part of the people here and the government are to blame. Government controls the police and the people, so the people in government, (the people) are to BLAME! 55555
  3. It is truly sad when these type of accidents occur and hope he recovers. Why is there no other information or details about the accident? Who was at fault causing this preventable accident, the driver of the truck or Christian? Were either of them drunk or had been drinking on this first day of the festivals? Was Christian wearing a helmet? I also agree that he should have had insurance for this type of thing. Did he have a motorcycle license? For myself, I would never get on a motorcycle here, it's too dangerous. I drive a car and fully insured and after driving for over 45 years, I have become a very defensive driver and my wife and myself always point out the idiots on the road. Too many drivers here don't have the proper training needed, nor the patience required to drive here.
  4. Thanks, teacher. Don't need educated, I have read a lot of information and data and fully aware that cigarette smoke is harmful to bystanders. You are allowed to do what ever you want, of course.
  5. I will have to say for me. this is not the case as you make it out to be, and you should not include the plural non-smokers. This seems to be your opinion for yourself and you can't speak for all of us non-smokers that it is offensive to the extreme. I am an ex-smoker and now find myself being extremely offended when a tobacco smokers blow their smoke towards my face. I don't mind the e-cigarette smokers so much, but keep in mind these e-cigarettes are a healthier choice for people who want to quit inhaling the chemicals that are added to real tobacco.
  6. So why show a picture of people carrying a coffin with not even one person having a mask on?
  7. This is so typical, why can't managers think of the problems that will arise before they do?
  8. Let's not plan before it happens, typical. Wait until there are problems, no pro-active planning?
  9. Thai government love to be in control of their people. If I visit the US again, I will wear a mask and if they don't like it, tough.
  10. Because it is all cheap <deleted> and breaks down and not worth it!
  11. The Russian diplomats in Bangkok meet with the "Military Owned" TV stations, a statement by TV Channel 5 said, to discuss ways to enhance “cooperation in exchanging news and information”. Russian officials were ready to support efforts to tackle fake news, and to verify information. A week later, the TV channel’s boss abruptly resigned. Was the boss of TV Channel 5 forced to resign because he would not lie for the Russians? What officials would also tackle the fake news and verify information? Does it sound all one sided and the Thai government is supporting Russian? Is the Thai government keeping that a secret?
  12. Most of them only care about themselves and how quick they can get somewhere without considering the consequences of their poor I don't care attitude.
  13. Since driving here in this country I have seen some real idiots that just don't seem to care. So many on the road think they must be the only people driving. I have become even more of a defensive driver. Just wish these people that don't know the traffic laws or don't care about them would learn to know them or care about others. Too many seem selfish and don't value anything but themselves, plus too many drunk drivers and the police do nothing about helmets not being worn.
  14. NEVER - NEVER - NEVER MAINLY BECAUSE IT'S THESE THAI's THINKING THEY CAN GET THAT MUCH! I love football, but there is a limit to what you should spend on overpriced athletes from any country!
  15. These managers don't have any common sense or it is the local Hua Hin government that made their own interpretation of the law. Common sense would tell you that the store can't sell alcohol to children. The one theory is that the local government does not trust any Thai staff to not sell to children, which many do anyway where I live. My nephew is only 14 and he goes and buys beer for me on his scooter without a driver's license and wearing no helmet. I keep telling him to get his license and wear a helmet, but he doesn't listen to me, why should he. I do give him money for getting it for me since the store sells it to him. 5555555
  16. It's because the cash registered is tied to a computer program and they can't ring it up during those times. I did this once at 4:55pm and I could not buy it. So I waited till 5pm and she kept looking at the clock on the register and at 5pm she could ring it up for me, 555555.
  17. Yes, exactly right. Putin only cares about Putin and how much money they could get from Ukraine. The country has so many resources and Putin has wanted that country for some time now. The International world must still be afraid of him pushing a nuclear button because they aren't getting involved militarily and don't see it happening because they worry and I would as well how crazy Putin might get.
  18. This has nothing to do with the American company side of it. The move has come about after the Thai government overhauled regulation of the country’s fintech sector. This means that PayPal has been forced to adhere to a new regulatory framework in order to be able to operate in Thailand. In order to operate in Thailand, PayPal is required to have an FX e-Money license and meet whatever standards that the Thai government requires. On the user end , the KYB verification is ostensibly part of a broader push by the Thai government to weed out money laundering. For people who rely on PayPal to receive payments from overseas, they will no longer be able to do so without a registered business account. Online teachers, freelance workers, digital nomads or even people in Thailand who use PayPal to receive money from friends and family overseas will have to find an alternative. Here is the real kicker and many people who are trying to run an online shop as their main business are being shut down by this Greedy Thai Government. They require you to get a registered business account, people will need to be registered via the Thai government’s Know Your Business (KYB) scheme. This is not the problem and my wife has had to do this already and was approved with no issues. However the next requirement came after this KYB scheme and you now must register for a business account that requires: 1. At least one director (Thai or foreign). 2. Three (or more) shareholders are required for each company. 3. Registered capital, requirements vary among different business structures. However, companies employing a foreign staff or directors who reside in Thailand and need a work permit must have 2M THB in registered capital per such employee. 4. Corporate bank account. Furthermore, business accounts will then be charged 7% VAT on all transactions, while domestic transactions can only be made in Thai baht and must be linked to a Thai bank account. The move has come about after the Thai government overhauled regulation of the country’s fintech sector. This means that PayPal has been forced to adhere to a new regulatory framework in order to be able to operate in Thailand. The Thai government is looking for ways to make money and this is making it hard for their own people to live and try to run a business online.
  19. If I had that amount of money, why would I need to work here? This is another idea from the government that is really stupid.
  20. This government will not tell you what will happen to you because they are trying to make money from you where ever they can. That's the way the Thai government works here. So many bad things happening in Thailand now. Pork prices up over x4. Egg prices up Petrol prices up Thai government tax up Thai PayPal now tax sellers Thai Post international shipping is now double price from a year ago, they just increased again on 2 Feb another 20 baht. How are normal people going to make it? My wife is very angry at this government. Now besides not doing anything to help Thai's, they are making it harder than ever.
  21. If you listen to this man here who is a real idiot, then you are all doomed. How many will now stop wearing the mask and just make things worse. This government does not not what it's doing and contradicts itself and other ministry agencies.
  22. This has to be a joke. So much idiocy here with this report. So many people use the phones especially on motorbikes. They don't care about any of the laws like the main law of having a license to drive, the use of helmets on motorbikes, seat belts in cars. The police don't give a <deleted>, so why would the people here care if there is a law about using phones, most people don't obey the laws. Also of all the government departments, why is the Thailand's Anti-Fake News Center giving this warning?
  23. All of the projects he spouts off about should have been done already while they had the chance. I think they are putting money in their pockets first before doing anything they should do for the city. It is 3rd world disgusting in that place and they don't care.
  24. I truly believe this is happening now in Thailand. So many things we need to live have increased greatly, petrol and pork prices especially. Now I hear many other things going up, like eggs. How and why is this happening to the Thai people? Why isn't the government trying to do something to help? Is there too many rich corrupted politicians in this country, more than the US and other countries. I really believe that the government is working with these pork merchants and making money off the public. When will the Thai people wake up and get rid of the clowns that are in power?
