And as I just said never would I do and trust the registration because of something like this, and then got sad and confused emoji from many people, it has happened. Hahahaha is all is have to say.
I also noticed on the website that the only locations shown are for people in BKK or you must travel to BKK when you finally get registered, (maybe by next year). So if you live in the south, tough <deleted> for me. 55555

And yet China can supply their citizens overseas with vaccines.
What else do you need to know about our exceptional nation and how we expats (don't) benefit from our country's largess?
So - the US will supply Thailand with vaccines, and then US citizens abroad will be placed at the end of the line to receive their vaccines after Thais get their shots which were given to them by the US Government???
Does that sound about right?
The Thai government has a racist distribution policy that will be directly supported by the US government as US citizens are put at the end of the vaccination lines.
This reads better then a Kurt Vonnegut novel - you can't make this stuff up!
Welcome to Wacky-World ????This deserves an overwhelming response to your congress person to demand US citizens should be given the vaccine. But dreaming about it does nobody any good. The Thai government would not agree to accept the vaccines under those terms. They are too selfish and greedy, but so are a lot of US politicians, especially Republicans. There is no way the Trump administration would have even thought about doing this, or care to for that matter.
As Connda said: This is definitely a Wacky-World. ????

I'd rather see the inspection by AstraZeneca themselves.
Or are they directly overseeing production and QC?
I agree as well with the inspections being done by AZ themselves. Who in Thailand is qualified to inspect? They need more information in the statement as to how they inspect. Is their AZ staff that are quality controllers in the medical field? This is AZ's process so I hope they are involved.

The most annoying part of all this for me is that this "news" came out through the back door.
Why does the head honcho of SiamBioScience not have a daily news release like anybody else & tell us about the progress & difficulties they are facing in procuring raw materials ?
Why all the cloak & dagger stuff ?
Think about it carefully, we are in LOS. Only smiles are reported not negative energy.

Ah the mantra of if you do not like it return to whence you came from has been used for the day. Glad you are not in charge of my life and I am not in charge of yours. Life is to be lived and if one wants to complain and takes the smile from someone's else's face and makes them grimace in pain, well then I am right there to assist. Enjoy.
The vaccinations are Sinovac, and the AZ vaccine is being produced by Siam Bio Sciences, and they have never produced a vaccine before. This is all unchartered waters. This Governments statements of 6million vaccines by June, then enough by the end of the year to vaccinate the entire population is as far from the truth as the eye can see. In fact the entire contract transparency was brought forth by a former MP Thanathorn who was subsequently charged with LM. All we do is fill in the details as we see them. Continue to live under the rock and ignore what goes on around you if that makes you happy. By the way I was born here in this country.
Wow, you English is great! What countries were your parents from? Assuming Dad was from the western world, just curious to know. For me I was born in the US, migrated to the UK in 1999 and became a UK citizen, not claiming the US any longer since Trump destroyed a lot it. Proud to be a UK citizen. I will also not be taking the Sinovac vaccine, waiting for better options.

I read that Europe and probably UK will not accept Sinovac certificates for entry.
That may change this week if WHO approve this Chinese Sinovac vaccine. I searched today and not see any change on this.
The WHO have approved the Sinopharm vaccine already.
However in saying this, I personally will not take either of these Chinese vaccines, don't trust them. Keep watching for more updates
for best options, maybe J&J one shot option is a consideration once it is approved by Thailand and private hospitals can bring it in.

I feel even if there were negative effects from Sinovac, that you will not hear about it. They don't want negative results messing up the deals they have done already with the Chinese. It would also probably hurt some tourism and submarine business that is in the works for later. I will never use this Sinovac and I will stay at home until better choices are available in private hospitals. Even then you don't know what is really safe or not, only what they let you know about in the news seems to control most things these days.

Where did you get that from or is it just another racist opinion.
I think Greasy may not have checked the latest details.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-56967973
The World Health Organization (WHO) has granted emergency approval for a Covid vaccine made by Chinese state-owned company Sinopharm. ... A decision is expected in the coming days on another Chinese vaccine developed by Sinovac, while Russia's Sputnik vaccine is under assessment.
Even with that said, I will not use this vaccine. I have to wait like everyone else here and will wait for a different more reliable brand after more research.

Most likely a PR stunt to appease International Embassies.
What counts is the total of Expats who have been vaccinated.
Just a few days ago Richard Barrow tweeted he had been turned down for a Jab after successfully registering 3 weeks ago.
Also those Expats don't look to be over 60 how did they qualify?
We should have a counter on TV to count how many members have received the Jab and how many have been refused.
You can never believe what they say, all propaganda, reminds me of Trump.

That is nothing compared to my town near Nakhon Si Thamarrat. There is a medium sized Tesco Store that found 4 infected staff working in our store here. They did nothing for 2 weeks and then suddenly they forced the store closed and set up testing in the parking lot for staff and some customers. Tesco said they would be closed for 2 days for testing. What about cleaning, are they cleaning inside? We had been in the store during the first days of discovery and went to get tested. They told us they are full now, assuming no more tests available. We asked when we can come back to test, they said "I don't know", very useless and frustrating. They told us to go home and quarantine, so I can assume you can't get tested here unless you are dying. We told the health official there my wife had a fever, but not good enough, they said go home and quarantine. I would probably die before they did anything. Hate this <deleted> government, never do anything until it is too late and you are dead.

Nope, already here. Why are they letting people back in? It seems even quarantine makes no difference, but also understand that
somehow people are sneaking into the country somehow and not caring if they bring it and those people need locked up.

Why not arrange for a nurse with a needle to give us a jab when we have to report to the immigration office. Then stamp the passport vaccination done and recorded it's that simple
But that makes too much sense. The use of common sense will never happen in Thailand, even my Thai wife agrees.

As per my post yesterday in another newsletter, I successfully registered at my community health clinic this morning. Having a pink ID card was a prerequisite though. My wife will receive a phone call advising when to attend either the clinic or our village community centre for the first jab.

"Absolutely free"...how much did you pay in federal, state, and city income taxes last year; not to mention property taxes, which fund many county health departments administering the vaccinations? I'll pay the $100-$200 for my vaccine jab in Thailand (where there are none of those taxes for most expats), while you lucky ones enjoy "free" vaccines in the U.S., UK, and elsewhere.
This is so true, it hits at the point in regards to the US and UK's cost of vaccines. Also true are the amount of taxes you pay in both countries, but in reality, there is just no additional costs to you. However I believe you paid for that vaccine if you received one there. The private hospitals here in Thailand charge for the use and administering of said vaccines or any other medications for that matter. Remember you also pay for medications separately at the hospitals, public or private here in Thailand, just as you do in US and UK. The private hospitals are just a higher cost to you.
Just for example, I obtain a monthly prescription from my doctor for Tramadol and pay ฿120 ($4) for 60 tablets. In the US I paid about $40 for the same amount. The Tramadol comes from India, which is where the Thai government purchase many drugs, probably the same for US and UK. I had an educational conversation in English of course, with my doctor concerning the cost of drugs. My doctor worked in the US for a number of years and had some very interesting insight regarding the cost of health care.
I guess what I am trying to say is the cost is much cheaper hear and I am so tired of hearing about this issue, it is not really an issue is it! But this is my opinion of course! ????

I would love to, but I am not allowed back into my country, I am banned for now.
Thailand is the problem and always will be. I really don't see a solution for foreigners
until end of year.
As soon as I am allowed to go home I will and never to return to this backward military style 3rd world country and I am not alone with these thoughts.

Number of tests peaked on the same date...????
Can never believe what is reported here by Thai news media because they don't know. The problem here in Thailand is the testing.
The so called peak being reached and now going downward on reported cases is more likely due to less testing again.
They are hiding the facts or just not testing like other Western countries do and did. If they would have cancelled Songkran there would
not be this big problem of thousands of people going to hospitals asking to be tested, people just got scared.
Before Songkran holiday, most people did not follow guidelines unless they went to public stores. When outside they remove their mask and act like there is no Covid-19. Thank the government for allowing the infections to spread through the country.

I have to disagree with you on that. I have covid and don't know it so I'm going shopping. I drive for 20 minutes, filling up my car with the little buggers. When I park, I put a mask on, open my door and release them in the parking lot. Anyone nearby can be infected-mostly because the typical masks are next to useless and usually worn incorrectly. Masks should be stored outside your door and put on when you head out.
Would love to see a study done by a reputable university to see how valid this is if your infected. What about inside your house? How full will the living room get and you open the door and they all fly away?

But equally ridiculous if the passenger is your wife/husband - unless you both wear masks in bed?
But with the dark windows of most Thai cars, you could be driving naked and nobody would notice.
Absolutely, you can't see most people in the cars anyway. But the logic is mind boggling to say the least. Married couples have
to wear a mask in the car but not at home and especially in bed if sleeping or better yet fooling around. I am always amazed how there
is the lack of logic or better yet, common sense, in this country.

Thailand targets reopening within 120 days as economy flounders
I continue to be puzzled by these statements about the economy in Thailand. They have lost so much business in Thailand since Covid-19 and yet the Baht remains strong.
Prices here continue to increase, it has become more difficult to save money and the exchange rate for the Baht remains strong.
Can someone explain how that can be? Does Thailand just print the money they need for the government?
The GBP and USD should be so much stronger now than the Baht. This makes no sense to me at all.
