  1. 1. you are about 4 years+ too late.

2, Air BnB is in a tough position in Thailand - see news. also many AirBnB falangs were busted by immigration for renting w/o work permit, not paying taxes, etc...

    3. Thailand's economy expected to be in very bad shape in the coming year. not a good time.

    4. consider other options; securities.

Hm, thank you. Not what I wanted to hear, but I need to hear it. Securities? You mean play the Thai stock market? I used to play Canadian stocks in a big way but got out of that game.

"Nah, not for renting out condos I don't think. I've never heard that before. Foreigners can own condos. "

Pleased you are now having second thoughts ! smile.png

  2. "Jobs's faith in alternative medicine likely cost him his life.... He had the only kind of pancreatic cancer that is treatable and curable.... He essentially committed suicide."

One needs to be selective about what is treated by "alternative" means.

  3. I think the officer was giving you a warning more than anything else. He also may of not noticed your previous entries were from a tourist visa. There is a 90 day limit for out/in visa exempt entries at that crossing.

    Thank you Ubonjoe.

What do you mean by 90 days limit at that crossing? Do you mean "per year"?

Can I do the same border run again at that crossing in 2 months (after 1 month I got + 1 month extension), so I can wait until April to go Laos and get a Tourist Visa?

It would appear you have already been 'warned' about using "visa exempt entries"

It is a decision you must make because no one here can guarantee that you will be successful in obtaining another VEE.

You are probably best advised to get a tourist visa sooner rather than later.

  4. What kind of std does op have?

    Any dribbles, itching, warts, sores,

    Or all of the above?

If the OP has been exposed to risk amateur attempts at "diagnosis" are ill advised and potentially dangerous.

Only a full STD screen undertaken by competent medical personnel will reveal exactly what the problem(s) are.

  5. I've never heard of an embassy or consulate issuing a replacement passport without a police report, but as Singerman wrote, ask your consulate if they will do it.

Report it as lost, not stolen. This way you avoid the hassle of a police report. I lost one. I'm a Police State citizen and they gave me another 10 year valid pp, but warned me if I lose another, the next will be a 5yr and so on, as they suspect you may be selling them.

From what I have read above it would seem that the following list are the facts

    1. You sent your Passport to a Visa Company / Accounting Firm for a new Visa - it has not been returned to you with or without a VISA

    2. Your "lost" Passport has now expired - how long has the agency had your passport? Generally a new Visa will not be issued into a passport if the passport has less than 6 months to expiry. Has the "Agency" had your passport for over 6 months?

    3. You are registered with your Embassy as being a resident in Thailand

    4. If your passport has expired and you do not have it to pass to your embassy for renewal, then above comment seems sound. "You have lost your Passport and that Passport has now expired"

    5. Your decision either - report to your Embassy that your expired passport has been lost and you require a new passport, complete any documentation that the Embassy requires for a lost passport and apply for a new passport. As you are registered with your Embassy as a resident see 2 above you should not require "travel documents / temporary passport" as you would expect your new passport to be be delivered to your registered address in Thailand. OR

Notify the BIB that your passport has been lost or stolen and provide details of the Agency / Accounting firm that you engaged to obtain your VISA and then wear the consequences of having somebody obtain your VISA if that is going to be a problem when you report the Lost or Stolen Pass port to the BIB. Then attach the police report to your application for a new passport from your Embassy.

    6. In my humble opinion depending on the period of "overstay" involved it would seem to me that your 1st priority is to get a

    - A a new valid passport

    - B a new Thai Visa in that passport to allow you to stay or visit in Thailand.

    - C approach immigration to obtain your new Visa in your new Passport and pay the overstay with an explanation as to why you are late in applying, using the facts and decisions that you have made see above.

    Good luck

    1. The OP has no choice about obtaining a new passport or ETD.
    2. Visas are not obtainable from Immigration !
    3. Once the OP has documentation which allows travel he will have to pay the overstay fine and leave the country.
  6. Just go into a pharmacy and treat yourself.

    Much easier and cheaper.

Take the pills for Gonorrhea, then if you still have symptoms, Syphilis.

Both those courses of anti-biotics will take out almost anything else with them.

It is bad advice like this that leads to worldwide problems !

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/science/12070474/Gonorrhoea-could-become-untreatable-GPs-warned.html

STD's should not be self treated and it should be remembered that there are also diseases which cannot be treated with antibiotics.

  7. Why that? I my country, bank is the place where most people put their money, so it seems rather logical to ask proof that we have enough money "in the bank". That can be on very various ways though: saving, deposit, insurance, stock, investment,... but still "money in the bank".

I agree. When the websites say "in the bank" I think that's generic. It's meant to be the money used to fund the stay so I'm sure that as long as the money is accessible it would be accepted.

So does this mean a credit card with a full credit balance (as per the METV minimum balance requirements) available for use would be sufficient to show with you're METV application? Or must you present a statement from a savings account?

A "Credit " on a CC is not the same as having readily available cash sitting in a Bank Account.

You would have to ask the Embassy/Consulate if a CC is sufficient to meet their requirements. Remember that "Credit" can be rapidly withdrawn if repayments are not made on time.

  8. If you are leaving the country before the 90 day report is due there is no need to do one.

The next report due would 89 days after the day you return

Im going out of BKK but not the country, I came into Thailand on October 5th, dont I get 7 days after the full 90 days too though? In that case I could do it in person next week right?

Would rather give this online method a try though, if Im in the allowed period

If you want to try the online 90 day reporting you must ensure it is done no later than 7 days prior to the actual due date. If your report is due on Jan 2 you do not have the option of using the online facility.
