Thai experts are puzzled at how the UK variant evaded the country's strict quarantine system
Because not everyone is going through quarantine.
The face saving dances these people go through are worthy of the Olympics.

If it’s the Chinese vaccine, it’s already known due to an arrest that millions of fake vaccines were sold from China. I wouldn’t be surprised if Thailand bought them all.

YOU do. Don’t be surprised if the Chinese get a pass. Also, whatever is required of them will be sold as a fake on their websites within days of an official announcement.

Keep mass-testing with the utterly flawed PCR method, and you'll get the numbers of false-positives required to shutdown protests and keep people scared.

Let me guess, you did your own research.

So their bragging about vaccinating an average of around 3,000 day in a population of 69,000,000 + not something i would want to brag about (quite slow in my mind) .
Especially when so many other countries are vaccinating 100k - 1 million+ per day.

Imagine that.
Now imagine they proactively test millions like developed countries are doing.

What happened to this app?
The same thing that happens to everything here, it’s forgotten about with a week or two.
I’ve never been to a country with such pathetic follow through on literally everything they do.

I'm not sure how to interpret the figures you quote.
According to Worldometer today - since the start of the pandemic the testing rates per million are now UK 1,512,475 (yes that's one and a half million per million) and Thailand is 22,896.
UK has capacity to do more than 800,000 tests per day currently.
Thailand is doing around 3000 tests per day. That seems to be where they cap out. Quite a stark difference from 800,000.
The UK and Thailand have roughly the same population size. It’s embarrassing how poorly Thailand is handling this when it comes to testing.

The Covid pandemic has made me realize Thailand is still stuck in third world status with a few nice shopping malls and condo projects thrown in.
But they were ranked, by data they supplied, as one of the top countries in the world to handle a pandemic. So was the USA. ????

I would like to know the tests per province in Thailand. I can't believe that such an important information is not available. But I cannot find it anywhere.
I live in Pattaya. There doesn't not seem to be any Covid here. So let's forget about all these precautions - or?
How easy is it to get tested there? Do they have a testing center there or is it know that one of the hospitals is where everyone goes?
If you don’t know, then they are probably not testing a lot there.
I asked our gardener, Burmese, just last week if he had been tested yet or if anyone he lives with has. He said it no because it was too expensive. I thought I had read it was free for them now, and it might be, but they don’t know it.

It’s infuriating that they have to mention once again that “the employees are migrant workers.”
They do everything they can to continue to spread the distrust and fear of foreigners and separate Thais from everyone else.
How about just saying about how people tested positive at the market. Would that be too difficult for these Neanderthals?- 2

That was not the case when I was attempting to get a tourist visa for my Thai GF to visit Australia. Finished up having to use an immigration lawyer.
Trying to get a South East Asian into developed countries is difficult because of their history of what what happens when they get in those counties.
If your GF was from say Germany or Iceland, it wouldn’t have been a problem.
The region built its reputation long ago and now all of the residents in the region who are not wealthy, are not studying or working abroad (legally), have a difficult time with immigration.
In your case, this is on Thais and Thailand, not Australia, who is trying to prevent women (or men) from entering and working illegally as hookers or whatever else they get involved in. So there are hoops to jump through for obvious reasons.
I had zero problems during my brief stay in Australia (stayed for 3 years). Then again, I’m not from a country that exports prostitutes at scale.
This is in no way suggesting your GF us a prostitute or would do anything illegal, but the difficulty imposed on her was because so many before her did exactly that.

8 million tests out of 69 million is laughable and terribly low when compared to countries around the same size population.
These pockets keep popping up because they are not proactively testing around the country. When they test, they find.
