I see the Chinese having a lot of accidents. Rental shops must be profiting from insurance AND what they can get out of the renter, otherwise, it doesn't make much sense to rent to them, as they are h*ll on wheels and everyone knows it.

They are generally easy to spot, so I avoid them if possible and am always scanning the road looking for them.

Used to be I was worried about the Thai speed demons, now I worry about the Chinese and long for the days when only Thais terrorized the roads.

Also, what is the name for it in Thai?

I go later in the day (before dusk), have never been charged entry. It's a nice place to enjoy a sunset.

Usually, no one is even in the entry booth when I go.

That said, 20b is fair for park entrance. By international standards, it may not be very impressive. However, by Thai standards, it's quite nice and not far from where I live.

I thought that was the job of immigration.

Visa agents are the way to go unless you have time to waste, which I do not. For a small fee, you are in and out of immigration in 15 minutes. Money well spent.

However, 90 day reporting is laughable. I've lived and stayed long term in many countries over the years, and only Thailand has made me report in ever 90 days even though my visa is valid for 1 year.

I have noticed the older tourist policeman at the stops now where they are targeting foreigners. No surprise.

It will be a shame if they allow CM police to turn into Pattaya police scum.

Been there twice, they can't help. Even went to Customs here in Chiang Mai, also, no help. They sent me to the post office, who says they can't find it because it is not showing in the Thai system yet, but USPS has confirmed Customs has it.
