I'm not sure how to interpret the figures you quote.

According to Worldometer today - since the start of the pandemic the testing rates per million are now  UK 1,512,475 (yes that's one and a half million per million) and Thailand is 22,896.

UK has capacity to do more than 800,000 tests per day currently.

Thailand is doing around 3000 tests per day. That seems to be where they cap out. Quite a stark difference from 800,000.

The UK and Thailand have roughly the same population size. It’s embarrassing how poorly Thailand is handling this when it comes to testing.

I would like to know the tests per province in Thailand. I can't believe that such an important information is not available. But I cannot find it anywhere.

I live in Pattaya. There doesn't not seem to be any Covid here. So let's forget about all these precautions - or?

How easy is it to get tested there? Do they have a testing center there or is it know that one of the hospitals is where everyone goes?

If you don’t know, then they are probably not testing a lot there.

I asked our gardener, Burmese, just last week if he had been tested yet or if anyone he lives with has. He said it no because it was too expensive. I thought I had read it was free for them now, and it might be, but they don’t know it.

That was not the case when I was attempting to get a tourist visa for my Thai GF to visit Australia. Finished up having to use an immigration lawyer.

Trying to get a South East Asian into developed countries is difficult because of their history of what what happens when they get in those counties.

If your GF was from say Germany or Iceland, it wouldn’t have been a problem.

The region built its reputation long ago and now all of the residents in the region who are not wealthy, are not studying or working abroad (legally), have a difficult time with immigration.

In your case, this is on Thais and Thailand, not Australia, who is trying to prevent women (or men) from entering and working illegally as hookers or whatever else they get involved in. So there are hoops to jump through for obvious reasons.

I had zero problems during my brief stay in Australia (stayed for 3 years). Then again, I’m not from a country that exports prostitutes at scale.

This is in no way suggesting your GF us a prostitute or would do anything illegal, but the difficulty imposed on her was because so many before her did exactly that.
