Or Bangkok.

I don't see a great reason that there are so many Thai food places in Bangkok that can do it but here, seemingly not.

Obviously not as many as there as that's a great metropolis, but Pattaya is hardly a tiny little town and let me check, yes, it IS in Thailand.

Years ago I visited Ibiza. The Spanish food I had there was awful ...

Did you visit Rincon de Pepe? I think not.

I was involved in the nightclub scene in Ibiza with some of the biggest weekly parties in the world. You need to know where to eat.

  2. As aforementioned, Yensabai condo have 39 sq. m. studios for 14.5k and 78 sq. m. one bedroom apartments for 25k.

I don't know about good and nice, as it's a matter of taste.

Some units will have safes, some not. WiFi is extra(perhaps 1000 baht per month), but I give friends who stay there a MiFi with which to play. They can get up to 57GB of 4G data for 1000 baht. Usually enough for most.

I don't think a place where the food isn't actually on the menu is a credible suggestion.

    Difficulty reading and comprehending?

Old menu. (I'm not currently in Thailand, so don't have an updated menu) Old restaurant had four tables.

Other dishes on blackboard. Ribs in special gravy. Tamarind prawns.

Ironic since you spend so much energy trying to convince us that we don't get it.

You asked for suggestions. Not menus. Pathetic.

You are the one attacking people suggestions and being unpleasant. For me it's like water off a duck's back.

I've given you suggestions, but instead you prefer to freak out like a hysterical woman.

I told you to go to speak to Ek, but instead you act like an arrogant fool, stating that you don't need to visit a bakery.

What a twit you are. Perhaps if you actually spoke to him, instead of acting the fool, you would find that he worked in the kitchens of five star hotels and is very humble.

So how about you stop making a fool of yourself...eh?

Again, I'm open to specific and SINCERE suggestions of places that might come CLOSE to being really memorable Thai food here.

Not referring to Royal Cuisine ... did you bother to see my examples of places I love in Bangkok?

Nobody cares about your suggestions. They have their own idea of what they like. If you like the pictures in Bangkok, go to Bangkok.

A friend of mine makes Gaeng Keow Wan Gai with sweet potato. I haven't seen that in Pattaya....but so f***ing what?

I can make it myself or go to eat at my friend's place. :)

You are just appear to be an obnoxious character.

Others will visit Ek's place instead of just 'mouthing off' as you do and may even enjoy the food there.

Others might sit on the fat <deleted> and complain about their lot in life. Horses for courses.

I need to stop? You don't have to post here if you don't like it. You're sending me to a Steak house and bakery? Seriously?

I agree Pattaya is not Bangkok.

I am suggesting for THAI food, it really could be better.

As we are in THAILAND in an urban area that must have THOUSANDS of places selling THAI food.

Let's not act like it is when it isn't, which some people (clearly not you) are doing.

You need to stop for your own sake. Your mental health.

Stop banging on about THAI food. There are many types of regional cuisine. There is good Thai food in Pattaya.

If you want something different than you can find in Pattaya, go to that place where you can eat it.

Why are you still banging on? Unhappy with your life?

  7. Perhaps JT should read a little about Thai food eaten at the 'highest level': http://travel.cnn.com/bangkok/eat/chef-mcdang-myth-royal-thai-cuisine-655324/

Not so different from what is available in Pattaya.

There is good food in Pattaya. But Pattaya is not London....or whatever city one imagines have the most cosmopolitan range of food.

But they still have a go.

So this thread is just about JT and his dissatisfaction with his life.

Some of us have other things in our lives. I prefer Oishi Grand in Bangkok as compared to the Oishi in Pattaya.

Guess what I do? I go to Oishi Grand when I want to eat at Oishi Grand.

I don't begin an inane thread as to why the is no Oishi Grand in Pattaya.

Tell me where to eat in PATTAYA where the THAI food will be as memorable and remarkable as some of the better Thai food places in Bangkok.

    I'm waiting.

Seriously dude....you need to stop. You are just looking like a petulant child. Some might say acting like a prima donna. Certainly not a primo uomo.

Stop, for your own sake. It's just getting a bit pathetic.

Go to talk to Ek. He might add some of your suggestions to the menu if he thinks they will work.

Pattaya is not Bangkok. Get used to it. If you can't, try moving to Bangkok or San Francisco.

Beluga caviar tastes on a tuna fish budget...

     Whatever, dude.

You get my point now, don't you dude?

Have you ever heard of the expression "Flogging a dead horse"?
You are just banging on and on, repeating the same things. The only person not 'getting it' here, is you.
Do you really think that no one understood what you meant in the first place?
Did you imagine that you were a cut above? The bon viveur of the forum?
I spent a bit of time in San Francisco and didn't eat anything that knocked me off my feet. There is a lot of hype and that's about it.
Pattaya is not a foodie town. But every now and again, someone has a go and often fails through either poor marketing or there simply not being the clientele to support it.

You already done this one to death. Having real friends might put an end to these endless threads about nothing.

At least when you actually went out and found new places, there was some purpose. But now it's just a bit sad.

  10. So let's forget about the sophistication. Only talky, talky, talky, talk....

Here is Ae & Ek's old menu: WP_20160307_14_30_23_Pro.jpg

They will likely also have some more interesting specials on a separate blackboard in the restaurant. Was excellent value for money and nicely presented in the old restaurant. Let's see if the can keep up the standard in the new. Give them a try.

throw it in the rubbish and get a new one. any money spent on 'repairs' to a 4 year old piece of computer hardware is like feeding pearls to pigs.

Is this the standard of advice that you can offer?

I spent 2000 baht to replace a power management chip in my laptop, three or four years ago. Laptop is coming up to it's eight year. So over seven years I've spent 2000 baht on repairs, 1500 on a new SSD and 1000 baht on 4GB of RAM.

Of course the manufacturer/distributor would choose to replace the whole motherboard, rather than to mess around replacing a power management chip., which is why the OP is seeking a competent independent to do the job at a reasonable price.

i see they ask for nokair pass is this really needed or can anyone rent them?

There are a few different desks at the airport. I just noticed this one as I liked the price for the SUV.

  13. That's how it goes. You have a piece of land that has a few bungalows on it. The place becomes popular with backpackers. McDonalds comes along and offers you a large amount for a lease. All of a sudden everyone wants the same for their land. So prices and rents go up for everyone. A few people get rich and everyone else is under stress. No longer laid back, they are under stress to pay the rent and to sell their wares...and the tourists feel the brunt of stressed out vendors and greedy and unscrupulous Timeshare touts.

Soon the only people who can afford to keep the pyramid scheme going are the big companies. And so it goes. They keep taking until the island has nothing left to give. Enjoy it whilst you can.

yer ive had a couple of bingles in the past and your right insurance will come, all good so far but ive never rented? always had a car but the wife has had a smash and need to rent a bit so its my understanding i can use my aussy lisence , i would imagine if i roll up at the airport and rent then it would be more cost than in town yer?

  15. The OP clearly has some issues. We should not mock him.

It has certainly not ever taken me years to get satisfaction for poor service from a service provider. Though it did take a few months to get Alitalia to cough up 600€ for a delayed flight.

You didn't see me here creating a thread about it. Why he felt the need to post it here, I have no idea...

  16. I usually direct friends who can't afford to stay at my beachfront place, to here: http://thailegacyproperty.com/ThaiLegacy_Property/en_Rent-Studio/Stranic/Yensabai__8500THB_RS00024.html

Like the View Talay buildings, you get a bit more space for your money. 39 sq.m. in this case, for as little as 8500 baht per month and still close to Buakhao... you can walk there in three to five minutes dependent on your pace. Dedicated covered bike parking, swimming pool, elevators..

Reported utilities sans air con around 1200 baht per month.

WiFi and cable TV are extra. I usually lend them one of my MiFi for Internet access. Fast, reliable.and inexpensive if you choose the right packages.

How about dog bites? A guy at my gym got bite there last high season.

The dogs there are used to people running around. Can't imagine under what circumstance he got bitten. Perhaps another part of the hill or maybe he was afraid and tried to shoo the dogs. That only encourages dogs. Better to call them over if you are afraid. But don't try to touch them until they are comfortable with you.

The dogs on the circuit we describe are quite used to runners, as opposed to dogs on other parts of the hill. On the way up to the viewpoint for example, there are a lot less runners, so perhaps the dogs there are more nervous.

Stick to the circuit around Buddha Hill if you are afraid of dogs.
