Indeed, it's a holiday resort. Maybe Ken and his cohorts should have chosen a place further away from where foreigners gather.

This nonsense about foreigners attending. They have probably been to the exact same spot hundreds of times....certainly more than that idiot Ken.

I think I spotted them(protesters) at the Dolphin Roundabout at the junction with Terminal 21 a few days earlier.

On the other hand, I'm not sure why the Russian would suggest that the protesters are hurting the economy.

More reason for that ape to reason with the Russian in order to show that he is a leader and not a common thug.

Now we know he is just a common thug.

Yeah... who is "Ken"? Just another ape, a complete thug... He is not even a political figure. Just a boy from the street. Ok,ok... There were a few street stall cookers/hookers and a couple of taxi drivers loitering around. Does it mean there was a "political event" taking place. Regardless of what a foregner said, what has been done is a felony and that ape must be charged and detained because he is simply violent.

The country almost went bankrupt being without tourists for just over than half a year and yet foreigners are being beaten in front of police and nothing happens whilst you get extensively exorted for vaping - 20l=k or 5 years of jail. What democracy they want ? ????

it is illegal (and extremely barmy)  for foreigners to get involved with Thai protests

What do you mean by "getting involved"? If you mean "participation", please explain what makes you think that the foreigner "participated" in so-called "protest"?

Please refer me to the concrete Act or even by-law that prohibits foreigners from OBSERVING street gathering.

Does that gathering meet a legal definition of a "political event" or "protest" or even a "manifistation" ?

And if you can't, please have some beetroot and ....####!!! you know what I mean...

And, by the way, the level of problems that russkies cause is a drop in a ocean comparing to what your fellow-Steves and Mats doing here.

Are you talking about yourself or your fellow poms, soi six loyal patrons?

A bona fide tourist was just observing the gathering. That backward monkey who attacked a tourist should be caged; period. I wonder, would that biсh show something like that to the face of a thai male? Probably not. Because the only instinct that guide that kind of public is a fear of punishment/pain.

It could easily be any of you out there in that guy's shoes.

    @Jingthing

its a hot soup. Name originated during WW2, I believe it is russian name "Borsh" which is now used in Germany - "Borcht"; However its the same dish.

"Ramanasya restaurant", between Phratamnak 5-6 (almost every dish is good)

Caravan restaurant (2nd Rd, north pattaya) - top 10 according to tripadvisor. Food is good. Cook is Russian(Khazakh).

Ukraine restaurant (Jomtien) - pretty much good food, will serve you a shot of original vodka to go with the soup.

All venues are googleable. Decent russian food with "Ramanasya" being my top pick for its privacy and food quality.

  5. Good day, ladies and gentlemen,
I am leaving Thailand for a long term, I have a car here, which I am paying an auto loan for. I was wondering, anyone wants to rent it for the long term?
It's Almera 2014, Automatic. Quite affordable to gas and maintain, still fresh.
The reason I'm asking here: I wouldn't like to offer it to car rental agencies, to be honest; would prefer to leave it with a decent&stable expat gentelman )

    I am leaving next month.

There will always be unusual cases, unfortunately the laws here are created in such a broad manner it's almost as if the Thai's never considered there might be different situations.

I guess the laws are quite straightforward as have been all copied from US; but the root of troubles might be a mental capacity of people who supposed to apply it.

In Pattaya city, there are as many lawers as real estate agencies and beer bars. However, it is wise to trust these lawyers if you wanna do no more that a visa just because they do not know anything whatsoever. I've tried many, if its something deeper than a company registration or visa - you gonna suffer.

Going to different branches of the same bank with some unusual thing or for a mere consultation - you gonna hear diametrically opposit things.

From which we can assume his "requirements" are incompatible with what the vast majority of Thai ladies interested in meeting foreign men are looking for anywhere in Thailand, let alone Chiang Mai.

The mentioned "vast majority" of Thai ladies is really subjective definition. It pretty much depends on what kind of society one is being surrounded. Trust me, it is quite possible. Just stop attending these beer bars.

  8. Another phenomenon: a decent man in his 40s, married(or divorced), a father of 2, well educated, practicing specialist - everyhting looks well in his life, getting coupled with an ex-bar girl, arrogant, predictably uneducated, daughter of a rice farmer who is out for a white pray.

Despite of the obvious difference in all the possible parameters of their personalities - they are together. The question: what can be common between them?

The answer looms: she is not as smart as foreign woman (I mean, percieves the reality in a completely different way), which is overwheight all the rest shortcomings(which may not even really be shortcomings in someone's eyes); therefore could be treated alike pet.

Thai language, its structure and how it functions is another insight.... Im sure a lot of people who ever learned it noticed some link between the way Thais think&do and the language (which is naturally)

@pgrahmm, those are pretty cool moms to me.

  9. Okay, consider the following case:

A foreigner legally married a Thai national; Thai wife dies, leaving 4 condos, 2 of which (50%) are to be inherited by the foreign widower. So The foreign widower does not indeed purchase the property but the actual title deed transfer will occur according to the law, because he is a firs degree heir. The foreigner never ever worked in his life so does not have FEC as doesn't have any money (was 100% supported by wife).

How the process of transfer would look like? What does the law say?

Image what kind of transactional costs (consulting costs to find the way out) the poor guy will incure as noone here seems to know anything deeper than retirement visa for old western sponsors...

Are you physically incapable of assembling furniture yourself, or just too non-engineer inclined to figure out how? Unfortunately I'm back out of the country tomorrow, or I would have been happy to spend an afternoon fixing your furniture for the cost of a case of Chang. Mr Swiss1960 is taking the piss at 600B/hr for Ikea style.

Hi, it is not me, it is for someone I know and who is being a very feminine russian girl, unable to do it physically and (of course) mentally

Your suggestion of helping out with finding tenants -  I had trouble renting my own condo.  There is a rental glut in Pattaya.  There is already heavy discounting.  But I see merit in your suggestion - offering rentals that is just enough to pay for maintenance fees - with an agreement that all rent collected is given to juristic.  So the tenant would only pay usual rates plus a very cheap rent - that could range from 1500 Baht to 3000 Baht per month rent where my condo is.  Maybe increase that to help start overdue amounts.

But then there will be even worse rates drop. Soon we gonna probably start to pay money ourselves to drag tenants in.

In my complex ,you can not lease out a condo unless the fees are paid . And they won't sign the proof of residents certificate for immigration.

Where is that? How is juristic able  to stop a guy from renting out his apartment? :sleepy:

Never heard juristic sign on a residence certificate.
