As posted above, sleepers sell out VERY quickly, might wanna check at www.railway.co.th if anything is available for next weekend before you make the trip to BKK for tickets.
The train doesn't really have a bar, just a counter selling some snacks and no seating or tables that I can recall...the aircon sleeper compartment is locked up at night and the windows are not openable, so no smoking...

www.seat61.com has the answers to all these questions, look up the Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand pages.

I don't see the point of nodding to anyone you don't know in some personal way or haven't had a conversation with...

How about: 'The Tunnel'?
That is definitely a place frequented by farangs...and everybody else
I love it as an after-hours place, good electronic music, good drinks, plenty of local & farang eye-candy.

Limoncello is indeed excellent, love that same pizza myself Can't beat a good oven and and Italian chef...

NokAir domestic is all from Don Muang, your flight will surely be from there...you must have booked before March, when they made the switch.

It means what it says. There is little worth reading in the BP these days, and the home news is an absolute joke. A little bit more competition may actually improve the general standards.
But this wouldn't be competition, from what they themselves say, their target market is shallow people who don't want to read and have short attention spans! As for home news, all media is governed by the same strict 'tabu' subjects, so I don't see any newspaper coming up with more exciting editorials.

DivX and Xvid support is included in the latest "Fall Update" software revision which can be downloaded by any Internet-connected XBox360
-
Villa Market for sure, possibly also Foodland...
-
... If you do get the 360, make sure it's one of the new 65nm machines.
Thank for the heads up Gluestick...
what is the deal with the 65nm? What is that? How will I know if it is this?
65nm means lower power consumption and no more overheating issues... www.gcorners.com has those in stock, otherwise on Anandtech.com there is a visual guide on how to find out (involving shining a flashlight through the vent )
One other nice aspect about the XBox is the newly released DivX playback support, quite handy if you're into downloading movies...PS3 has announced this for a future update as well, though.
-
Aha, thanks for the info...indeed, consoles seem the way to go. I was thinking of picking up an XBox360 and having an USB HD-DVD drive shipped (added bonus that I can also connect it to PC), but the race is still too close to call.
-
Definitely can in Bangkok...don't know about Isaan, though.
-
Interesting, so they're finally showing up...has anyone seen consumer BD or HD-DVD players out there? And at what price?
-
I wouldn't necessarily say it's a ripoff, a lot of their stuff is actually quite rare, even in places like Fortune or Pantip you would pay a premium for hard to find items like some of those British series.

Ooo, big pictures and 2 lines of text for "articles", what a novel and brilliant idea...but I guess less text will cover up their editor's often piss-poor grasp of the English language.
-
It's definitely some virus/adware causing this, go to www.kaspersky.com , download, activate it as a 30-day trial and disinfect your computer.
-
Afraid not...so MySpace doesn't work for you? Maybe you're trying to access it from work and they blocked it...
-
Vertigo is indeed excellent, great views and atmosphere.
-
They are selling copied DVDs on that website.
Way to shoot themselves in the foot if they get caught.
Really? What kind? The more pro Chinese stuff, just DVD-R + case...?
-
I tried them in their "Chefxpress" incarnation from before and they're OK, indeed cheaper, but not on par with Foodbyphone...they do have some good restaurants which Foodbyphone doesn't have, though.

Reimar, how do you know what motherboard he has??
He posted the following information:
from my msi motherboards page:
I cannot get the bold fonts to go away .. I pasted from the msi site. ??
three unbuffered DIMM of 2.5 Volt DDR SDRAM
• Supports up to 3GB memory size without ECC
• Supports Dual channel DDR266/333/400MHz and up. (based on DIMM 1, 3)
So, the way I see it, he has 3 DIMMs, with dual-channel support if memory is installed in DIMM 1 & 3.
And trust me, if he has double-bank memory (2x2) and will add one more stick with 2 banks, it will more likely NOT WORK, many motherboards with 3 DIMMs do not support 6 banks.
-
If you add another stick of RAM, you'll lose the "dual-channel" slight speed boost you're getting now...could you post the model number of the motherboard?
Because the most important thing in this case is how many banks of memory it supports (1 bank = 1 side of RAM with chips on it, so sticks can have 1 or 2 banks), usually it's 4-5.

Dude, I posted it already...2 days ago: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=157215

What kind of connectivity does TRUE Visions DSTV or cable provide? I have a large monitor with no tuner, can I plug in the TRUE Visions box and use it as the tuner? If so, what connectivity options are there? Composite only? S-Video? Component?
Thanks in advance for any info!
Train Trip Singapore To Bangkok
in Thailand Travel Forum
Posted
How come?? Especially the KL-Singapore route is with much newer trains than the Thai ones, which are only comparable with the Penang-KL trains...TV (OK, with video feed only, but still), private shower room in every compartment on the Malay trains, where do you see that here?
