  1. Thanks people, went to Pattaya2U near Tukcom and the phone shop near it but neither could do it apparently. pointed me to iCare on 4th floor of central festival, and was sorted within the hour for 500bht thanks again
  2. Come away and forgotten my iPad passcode, I changed it the other evening after a drink (no idea why) and now it’s disabled. I’ve read I can only access it again by wiping it/clearing it and restoring from the back up, but it needs to be plugged into a computer to wipe it. is this something someone at Tukcom could do? I’ve been there for chargers, adapters and years ago copied ps3 games, wasn’t sure if they had Apple ‘experts’ there too? thanks all
  3. Is there anywhere in Pattaya that you can buy Latanaprost eye drops (for glaucoma) and also Hycosan eye drops? Latanaprost is prescription in the UK, and I know you can buy most meds OTC in Thailand, wasn’t sure where to ask? thanks in advance
  4. Will be in Pattaya next week and need a hygiene at a dentist. I’m a nervous patient so any recommendations please guys? Know there used to be a lot around Tukcom area, but any actual recommendations would be great thanks all
  5. We are in HH for 10 nights and want to hire a moped for a few days, any recommendations please? I’ve rented bikes in Pattaya and Chang Mai previously but from rental places we know, so looking for recommendations here please. also, are there any picturesque roads/routes to take out of HH in any direction for an hour or 2 each way, quieter roads, palm tree lined etc? Am planning a ride out to Pranburi dam and a few temples out that way, but after a few suggestions of areas outside the city to explore - fewer people and to take some photographs. thanks all - and from what we’ve seen so far, already really enjoying HH.
  6. We are flying out next May for 6 weeks and the mrs will be taking 2 x 23kg cases from Heathrow and I’m sure I’ll be doing the same. we want to fly down to Krabi for a fortnight while there, do any/all of the internal flight operators allow extra luggage (for a cost obviously) any any internal airlines better than others?
  7. As above, have just booked our flights for November with EVA and wanted to select seats and pay the extra to get seats we want, but on EVA website every seat on the plane is showing as ‘not available’ (greyed out) any idea when they become available to book?
  8. We are due to spend 10 days in HH in November, as a potential to see what it would be like to retire early (we’d plan additional trips each year as retirement is 3 years away). Next stop in November after HH is Krabi for a few days. Rather than train/taxi up up BKK and then fly down, we (me and English partner) are considering hiring a car for 3 days and taking a slow drive down, stopping off in Chumphon maybe for a night. are there any rental companies in HH where we can hire a car (ideally a pick up, Ranger etc) and then drop it off in Krabi, then fly back to BKK for the rest of our trip thank you all in advance
  9. We’ve just booked 2 weeks at the end of May and logged into EVA air website to select seats (we know it’s £40 per person, each way) every seat was grey out as ‘unavailable’. Are they greyed out until a certain time before the flight? have only ever booked a seat last minute previously, as in 2 or 3 weeks before departure.
  10. My plan is to move out to Thailand permanently within the next 4 years, I’m currently 46. I did have a buy to let flat in the U.K. (in South East) for a few years but the combination of increasing interest rates and the government targeting landlords I chose to sell up. The way non-paying tenants are so protected in the U.K. was also a genuine concern. I’m considering buying a couple of condos in Pattaya (outright) to rent out long term. ROI am looking at 8% in most cases. When I move out to Thailand, I’ll move into one of them. With the way the West seems to be going, I’d imagine more people wanting to head East as they near retirement, keeping property prices stable (at worst). I’ve seen other posts on here advising the stock market for an income but I have a SIPP and do not want all my future income (my Thailand retirement fund) tied to a potentially turbulent market. are there any things to consider? Anything to avoid?
  11. thanks all morrobay - I did wonder than after I got back to Pattaya. I remember northern Jomtien beach years ago was always narrow. so Na Jomtien around Soi 19 area will always been a very deep beach, any time of the day
  12. Wanted to get some photos and video of Jomtien beach when the tide is right out, went past today about an hour ago and there was only about 4 or 5m of beach (opposite Cafe Amazon half way down beach road) was over nearer to Na Jomtien last Friday and there was 40m-60m of beach. Does anyone know when there’ll be loads more beach to see, or is the beach a lot larger down Na Jomtien/Soi 19 anyway?
  13. “I’ve served 20 guys who look like this guy already this morning”
  14. dog lover here I’m afraid…
  15. Any unusual coffee shops in or around Pattaya worth a visit? Been to Paboon Cafe with the koi fish over in East Pattaya off highway 36 and also to Black Forest in Jomtien, any other unusual cafes worth a look that are a little more interesting inside/outside than Starbucks or Cafe Amazon?
