Long time visitor to Pattaya here, well, for me anyway. since 2005/2006 with a couple of mates, never ventured into a gents club, ever. (we were young and could dance back then, so lived in Marine, Tony's etc). what makes gents club different to a normal bar? or go-go bar? Thanks all

Aaaaargh! saw a couple of youtubers cycle through boomerang and it looked almost finished from Tums massage down to The Avenue... guess I've got another 8 weeks so ill play it by ear, as it could all change again and there's me still planning on downsizing in the UK and making a permanent move out there! I'll tell myself its part of Pattayas 'character' ????

2nd vote for Areca Lodge, great location, great hotel and close to most things you'll want. Agree with others who say it isn't what it was 20 (ok, 17) years ago. But then, where in the world is? Its probably the closest you'll get to Sodom and Gomorrah these days.. enjoy!

Cheers Pattaya57 - looks a nightmare. I saw a YT video about 10 days ago either PattayaJoe or David Strachan I think and directly outside Grand Avenue looked level. Still got 10 weeks til we are out (me and Mrsblonde) so hoping they’ve finished it by then. Can always cut through Areca Lodge if need be, but I was hoping we could head up and through Boomerang instead for obvious reasons ????

Thanks all. Saw another YT and it was looking better, at least from Grand Avenue going down towards the Avenue direction. I’ve a little more faith now than I had 2 weeks ago, but anything could happen between now and mid November! thanks again guys

I’m over in November and considering Bang Saen for 2 nights for Loy Kratong. Is there a central area, bars and restaurants? I’m assuming it will be mostly Thai bars and very few westerners? going to look on AirBandB and need a landmark to search for accommodation near by thanks all

I'm just turned 46 (last month). Ideally I do not want to wait another 4 years to make the move -
I know 'how long is a piece of Thai string' but has anyone got any idea of a completion date for the mud-bath currently outside Grand Avenue and Korandos? I am over in mid November and not sure whether to pack wellies or trainers... Also, is there another entrance to Grand Avenue condos, apart from the one next to Korandos? Is there a side or rear entrance to the complex?

Thanks again gents. We'd prefer to skip the marriage if possible (not that there's anything wrong with her), just looked at it as a way for me to get a visa to remain in Thailand while being under 50. Its only in the planning stages at present, but thank you both again. -

Thanks gents. Sorry Dr Jack yes currently unmarried and 15 years going strong, but obviously willing to change that to allow a move. I also need to look into my spouse being able to draw on my private pension as that is where our main income will come from. She's 1 year for being able to draw a pension, just unsure if she can draw/share mine if we were to marry. -
I know the retirement visa requirements are being over 50 and having a certain income, or 800k baht in a Thai bank account. what’s the rules around a western (U.K.) couple where she is over 50, but the male partner is under 50? Is this possible? And would the couple need to be married? both would be able to have 800k in a Thai account prior to application thanks all in advance

A little random I know, but are there any drone owners/pilots for hire for a day in Samui (preferably Lamai, but anywhere will do)? We are after some scenic shots etc and don’t want to do the paperwork and carry my own drone on holiday. So wondered if there are any drone pilots available to hire for a day?

We’ve got a return flight booked from Suvarnabhumi to Koh Samui in November with Bangkok Airways. When we booked it we paid for an additional +10Kg luggage each. wondering if I’ve done it right, does that mean only 10Kg each, hold luggage? Or +10Kg on normal allowance? We are travelling for a month so both suitcases will be 30Kg. Do I need to log on and amend my booking please?

We arrive in Thailand in 4 weeks time on a Sunday about 4pm. Will be wanting a taxi to Ayutthaya, where’s best to get one please? Pre-book? Or normal taxi rank? we usually head south when we arrive and a friend picks us up, so this is our first time needing transport from the airport. Many thanks in advance
