mlkik replied to CharlieH's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I arrived today and there was lots of people in the immigration queue that were filling out the TDAC . The bloke in front of me had not done one and the immigration officer sent him away. The people I saw in front of me were all showing their TDAC proof. I handed over my folded TDAC print outwith the bar code showing along with my boarding card and passport. No problems at al. -

Immigration Thailand Digital Arrival Card. TDAC

Completed my TDAC today as arriving on Monday. It is fairly straight forward , but frustrating that the drop down menu for your nationality would only work in landscape mode on my tablet then the other one would not Took time trying to find the U.K. in the drop down menu and found the drop down menu all over the place. Should have taken 5 minutes but took 10. -
Not everybody in Thailand speaks or understands English. Many people who do not will be embarrassed that they do not understand your English or badly pronounced Thai. No Thai would ever say 'Saitong, nung krap' they would say something like 'sai toong hai noi krap' or 'sai toong hai duay na khrap' or 'kor toong bai diaw khrap' if you just wanted a bag. Learn to speak Thai , be confident and pronounce your Thai language well and you will have a much better experience.

Opinion Russian Teacher to Thais: Drop ‘Farang’ if 'Ni Hao' Offends
mlkik replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
In the Isan Lao dialect, the guava is called mak sida (Thai: หมากสีดา), mak being a prefix for fruit names. Thus bak sida (Thai: บักสีดา), bak being a prefix when calling males, refers jokingly to a Westerner. ผัก is the prefix for vegetable. I would have thought if you could actually speak Thai you would know this 555. -
Thailand Holds Off on 30-Day Visa-Free Change Decision
mlkik replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If the 60 days on entry was reduced to 30 then it would be a drama as the Airlines would not allow you to board the outbound flight. -

Drunken Bar Brawl Leads to Scotsman Being Hit by Car in Pattaya
mlkik replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
This happened in Soi New Plaza between Soi Buakhaw and 2nd road. The report says the Emergency services arrived quickly and that is a lie. It happened opposite Maew burger and I had time to order and eat my burger and chips before the ambulance arrived. It happened before I arrived but Maew did not mention that he was hit by a car only that another farang had decked him. -

Depositing 800k for retirement extension
mlkik replied to Issanraider's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
BKK is not a very busy city and there are no pick pockets either and after a long flight feeling exhausted I would have no worries carrying arround a big lump some of money 555 -
I was not required to upload a flight ticket only to provide flight number.

Why would he lose it. He is not resident in Thailand. -
Sorry to be clear I suggest putting a fictional date that is within 60 days then you will have your visa issued. The travel dates are not on the visa that is issued. November last year I provied a fully refundable hotel booking with Agoda that I later cancelled.

Why not apply for a Non -O single entry in your own country before you go ?
-
I applied for a Tourist visa from London in November last year. If I remember correctly you have to enter your flight dates and flight number. I did not have to submit proof of an actual flight booking, only the dates and flight number for departure. As I fly KLM regular I remembered the flight number. My visa was issued and I then booked a flight on a different day.

So you are applying for a 60 day visa and trying to put in a stay of 120 days . Expect problems with your application.

Individuals or tourists may bring foreign currency in the form of banknotes or coins out of or into the Kingdom without limits. But if the total value exceeds USD 20,000 or its equivalent, a declaration must be made to the customs officer at the time of passing through Customs. Failure to declare items or declaring items incorrectly is a criminal offense.
