Well there is a bright spot in the continual fall of the Aussie dollar and that's it will cull the Cheap Charlie boozing load mouth Aussies from staying here fulltime. Get a group of those Bogans together in a pub or restaurant and your pleasant quiet time goes out the window. I am hoping to see their dollar go even lower.

so there was all that talk about Death Penalties, yet they haven;t even created the Arrest Warrants

so, there was all that talk accusing them of being inside thailand's territories, yet they are now awaiting word from the AttGen office, because they're crime was committed outside of Thailand's territories

it's getting a bit like changing the rules during an America's Cup yacht race!

Yup, pretty soon they will be accused of illegally attaching a winged keel to the seastead.

Simon ole lad, why make that comment?

My wife is a fantastic, loving, caring, honest lady.

Now her family are the complete opposite, they steal, con, lie every single day.

My wife dies i am totally knackered, i have thought about this a few times, time for me to pop a pile of pills and join her.

Yes my wife is the best as well, her family cause me to pause often. They are always looking for an opportunity to have their hands in my wallet or my wife's purse.

  4. I don't think you need an appointment to the AU embassy.

You do need to go online and get a copy of the divorce decree. You take that to the AU embassy and get them to stamp and scribble for $70+ per page then you can go to the equivenent of Chaing Wattena and get it translated in your area.

I know this because I did it in April last year.

If you have only been married in Thai, you have to get that decree translated to english then scribbled n stamped at AU embassy then translated back to Thai.

If you are only getting married in local village n not official you don't need any of it!

  5. You can only be responsible for your actions.

If your bad tempered Thai wife is going to take it out on your children then it would be appropriate to take custody.

You should go see your wife and tell her up front that you either need to have your relationship amiable or finished.

Tell her that if she wishes to continue on extorting you then there will be no money until the matter is completed in the divorce court.

Make sure you always meet her in the company of someone who can at a distance record what is happening.

So that it can't be claimed that you have physically injured her. That's why she had to stab you in the chest so many times. Pun intended.

It sounds like your road is going to be a difficult one.

Probably compound by your own guilt of infidelity.

    It's unfortunate but shit happens.

Chin up n get on with it

  6. I've been married to Australian, defacto to an Australian as well.

Both left me with the shirt on my back.

Last one even came back with a truck to take the contents of the house.

So mate if you love her and it feels right go for it.

To the knockers find something else to do with your hand.

    I have recently married.

It would be better to take your documents to chaeng Wattena there is a translation service on the 1st floor.

We asked around for prices on translation even one near the embassy some were more than 10000.

Our cost was less than 3000 from memory.

Bear in mind even government workers want some of your money for graft. I would recommend ignoring them

It takes about 4 working days for the necessary permissions to happen.

Then after you get the necessary papers you can go to the registry office in Laksi I think. Anyway its not that far away.

You will need witnesses x2. If you haven't got them some can be found for a fee.

    Hope that helps

    Cheers and good luck

    David

  7. Up front I am Australian, if this guy stole then by all accounts I hope he gets what's coming to him.

I read the same as everyone.  He admits picking up the bag and said he took nothing  from it. The lady agrees and has gone on her way.

So what if he intended handing the bag in as lost.

As people should never leave their bag unattended.

It seems strange that the manager hasn't said what his fate is. They seem to know it on every other occasion.

Been using a Samsung A7 for nearly 3 years and it's on it's last legs.

Got another new Samsung about 6 months ago on a UK contract that lasted 5 weeks.

I'm ready to explore the Thai Market for a phone. I have read good reports on lesser brands such as xiaomi.

If a new phone can give me 12-18 months of continual smooth operation I'd be pleased.

    I use the phone for

    Surfing web

    Typing content such as this

    Skype app

    Regular phone calls

    Whatsapp

    That's it really.

So has anyone got a phone they are very happy with and purchased it in thailand and the cost/name of this device and any other info?

    Dual sim would be great.

    I like Android OS.

Xiaomi are excellent.  I am using one right now to write this post.  It is a Remi4 with a deci processor.  I think K it's every bit as good as any.  2 things I have found that I don't like. The dictionary like to take over what you write. And because the screen has a bevelled edge a hardened glass protector doesn't go right to the edge and the protector can break easier than normal.

That's not quite correct.  Some embassies (US and UK) will provide a loan for repatriation if the foreigner is in danger and requires a flight out for safety reasons, if the foreigner is unable to raise funds for repatriation through their friends and family.  I'm not sure the Russian embassy would provide this service, but agree that she should be provided assistance to get to the Russian embassy to see if there is anything they can do.

Australia will loan money to it citizens especially in a circumstance like this.

Well I'm going to have to beg to differ on that one. If using a standard UK driving licence they will require a certified translation of that licence to issue a Thai licence. I guess it could also depend on who and where you apply but that was the info we got from DMT in Bangkok.

An IDP is a translation  of your drivers licence.  You are required to produce your current drivers licence from your native country  and the IDP if asked.
