If a political party in the west (UK, US, AUS, NZ/WHATEVER) managed to get the majority of the public vote and then suddenly, out of thin air, that party got disbanded - what do you think would happen?
Cheers.
bob.
The parliament would be blockaded. nationwide protests would occur and many marches on the Capital. If the disbanding was by the Court system I would doubt protests would remain peaceful. At the top of the List would be currently NZ is One of the most Democratic and open societies in the World and for that to happen we would have to have sunk to despotism. so Armed rebellion would not be out of the question. And given an NZ Military of only 13500 in all Services and around 10000 Police many who would probably support the majority view. 1981 the Springbok Tour nearly tore the Country in half. While many of us just observed both sides of that went to excess. Civilization is only a thin veneer.

They will destroy it when they are good and ready. No use doing it until Russia is under strain supplying Crimea
With 27 Russian Ships sunk or damaged I do not think it is far away time wise

It is not a two way street though, a Thai who wants to visit the UK has to perform backflips through hoops to have a chance of maybe getting a visa after considerable expense and a pile of paperwork.
It is very racist.
Same for NZ

The majority wanted change and voted for Future forward what they got was a Government by Gerrymander and card shuffling. Thailand is still under the Old Guard. no change yet if ever. I wonder if in Thailand democracy means Demonstrating Autocracy?

Why is it in elections the Left /Right comes up when this is just a smoke screen used by anyone who does not like someone with a view other than their own. The US has no left only right and extreme right as observed by most of us from European style Democracies.
The biggest thing she has over Biden and Trump is she is not a faltering Old man. and over Trump not a convicted Felon.
I guess for America a big step elect a Woman of Colour as President which is 2 big leaps.
Or go for the tried and true and elect a convicted Felon.
Show the World whether the USA is a Democracy or a joke

Imagine how peaceful life would have been if Joe has simply stated he was not standing for re-election BEFORE the Democratic primaries started. Plus better for the country overall, America is now showing its ass around the world and people are not impressed.
Actually if you look at the Pundits now. He waited until the GOP cemented Trump as their Candidate then stepped down. Now there is a Youthful Woman of Colour with a lot of punch facing up to a failed old Fart. Well done Joe. Trumps great achievement getting the Mexicans to pay for the wall. It is as shiny and bright as the Kings new suit!

Why is he any more innocent or guilty than those who preceded or followed . In a Country that has embroiled itself in Political machinations since the 1930's briefly attempted reforms in the 1970's only to follow the veneer of Democracy ever since.
The People wanted Future forward all they got was a new soup
You all have a love to hate Thaksin but really he is no worse than any of the others

After selling out to the army recently in order to gain power and return to Thailand, that was kind of the last straw. Even my friends in Issan are saying that he's a nobody now. He has brought on his own irrelevancy. See ya!
I would expect that to be the case. However I felt Yingluck was a convenient scapegoat for the Powers that be as the Thaksin was awol

All sounds reasonable just add to the overcharging of Tourists to visit places in Thailand and to use Thai entertainment facilities. I am sure it will bolster Thai Tourism through the floor

Buddhism is more a Philosophy than religion. One can be Buddhist and Christian. Faith is in the heart not dogma

I have been coming to Thailand for 15 years and I find it about the same. Some Thai are friendly and some just do their job. Some find us annoying but most seem happy to help and a smile goes a long way. I guess because I see a lot of Foreigners do not smile why should the Thai smile. On My first trip here since covid . march last year riding on Bangkoks Train system i noted that the Authorities suggested mask wearing. When in Rome. so I wore a mask. No funny looks from Thai.
But I noted how most Westerners (mostly young) got on without masks and with obvious contempt for the locals.
I do not blame the Thai for not smiling
When do we respect them
I get smiles most shops I go to because I try and follow the rules.
Old story though "If you see someone without a smile . Give them One of Yours"

Any assets in Thailand will be dealt with according to Thai law.
If she did not mention any one else in her will everything will go to the maid.
I saw on the news that there are already Thai people who are claiming they should receive the money.
So called friends who have not hat any contact for many years!
They smell money!
If As stated there is a Legal will then Courts generally side with the express wishes of the deceased.

How do we know the language was abusive? Sometimes I listen to Chinese people (who maybe discussing what to have for lunch) and to me it sounds like they're about to kill each other.
Is this the next episode of the anti-farang agenda?
But if true, this is disgusting behaviour.
But kicked an 8 months pregnant woman. that alone sort of supports the Thai version of events
