15 hours to take out a lone guy? where are the special police forces with their snipers and tactics? just as well there was only one and not many, Imagin if 10 or 20 would have been barricaded themselves the police will take forever like to flush them out.
they would try to negotiate and get perp to surrender before shooting. SOP. 15 hours is not overly long. If 15-20 you bring in Armed Forces units

I came back from Surin yesterday morning/afternoon. I saw the aftermath of at least 2 road accidents. With kids 13-15 at 2/3 of them on bikes speeding without helmets I was surprised only this many die.
Overloaded vehicles and a devil may care attitude
Police who see nothing
What do they expect?

Drinking, riding a motorcycle and texting. Had he ridden before if he had rule 101 you don't drink and ride. Only a suicide jockey texts and rides.

Or maybe just a mad cap collector. Some just like them lying around. Maybe is sinister or maybe not. For investigation not speculation to decide

The risk is much higher, and perhaps the rule change is they don't make money of pre tests, and can catch more people out.
I have already booked and submitted my thai pass, but I will take a PCR 72 hours before my flight and if positive then obviously not get on the plane.
But I think thaipass will continue to flatline until they remove the hotel, insurance and testing for fully vaccinated people.
I agree and same for me though I do not intend atm to travel before August and One hopes some improvements in conditions

I am sure many will travel to fight but whether they can handle the harsh reality of partisan fighting against a merciless enemy. While western Countries may take mercenaries Prisoners Russia's history is that it does not

How is Tourism let alone travel ever going to be the same again. Many if not most countries will want proof of Vaccination for Incoming and Outgoing travellers. No Vaccination not travel. Also should any Country suffer a break out while you are there you will be stuck. Borders will shut quicker than in the past. these are lessons we must learn from this Pandemic

Seems the greens and ardern are in talks to be the government even though labour does not need them. Worst of all worlds if they do combine without Winston to stop the excess IMO.
For what it's worth I voted for Winnie

I voted Yes to both. Have not touched weed in 40 years and have little desire to. But i have seen and continue to see countless numbers of Workers of all ages losing their jobs because they had a few joints on the Weekend.
Had they legalised Weed then there would have been levels at where if you showed over a scale you lose your job.
Funny you can get Drunk all weekend but as long as your Sober come Monday Morning everything is hunky Dory.
So the Gangs still have absolute control over the Supply. Many use meth amphetamines because you can be clean in 3 days as opposed to 14 days for weed (Which drug is worse)
If by some stroke of Bad luck I develop bone Cancer or Leukemia I have the gene) then i assure you legal or not I will imbibe weed for the pain.
Legalisation Would have loosened the Gangs hold on the Trade. Freeing the Police to smash it Once and for all.
The next Step i wanted to see (Acknowledging We never got past Go)
Would have been total Decrimilisation of All Drugs so the We could concentrate on the supply Chain (Smashing them) and treating the Addicts rather than endlessly chasing Our Tail..
NZ can be progressive on this One showed it Conservative side.
So We happy to elect to let the Terminally ill Choose Their time to die but not with a smile on their face.

I'd say it was more that National had been a shambles since they back stabbed Simon, and has been pathetic at standing up for farmers etc. A party that abandons its base is in trouble at the polls.
Seems from the conversations on talkback, many were going to support labour to get a majority so they could govern without the greens. If labour invites the greens into a coalition without Winston to stop the OTT green agenda, NZ is in trouble IMO.
Yes We will have to wait and see

Interestingly even in Safe national Seats (right wing) the Party vote was overwhelmingly Labour. People supported the Candidates they like but a majority back the New Zealand labour party. They voted for "People" over Capital and perceived Freedom

No lockdown and no hysteria.
The whole world is chasing the WHO, incomprehensible Bill Gates immediately fills his pockets with money. We have always survived viruses for thousands of years.
Without a vaccine, just use common sense, the measures they are now adopting and using will cost far more deaths than they save lives. This is my opinion, hopefully everyone thinks for themselves!
Respect for everyone on the planet.
the USA usually suffers about 30,000 flu related deaths per year but they are at 138,000 and adding but do not worry it is just a little flu.

It would not be prudent for any Country to open up to all but Countries with zero Community spread. Therefore being realistical no nation can really look at relaxing Borders until 2021.
Yes Jobs will be lost in recession but the cost to the loss of Populations and the overwhelming of your Health Systems is the alternative.
Either way a massive financial Blow to your Economy
Sweden has proved there is no Herd Immunity and their Economy has contracted regardless

Thailand has opened up to some countries who still have Community spread. This is to boost Tourism. Great get the money in. Makes it easier to find to bury Your Own population.

And when 77.5.% of these people wants the government to be vigilant the whole country will go bankrupt because of 870 people. But I guess the whole world will print money to overcome bankruptcies, hunger and unemployment . With thanks to the WHO for calling it a pandemic and scare the world big time.
I must commend you. obviously You are willing to sacrifice Your elders, The Health Impaired and the very young. Good Attitude Survival of the Fittest. I am Sure that Adolph and His supermen would pin Medals on You and your ilk. Personally i am for restricted Borders, Social distancing. In New Zealand We atm no Community spread and Incoming Quarantined. Some say the Bill is Already NZ$80,000 per Kiwi. Personally if My Bill is $1M and We protect Our Most vulnerable it is worth it. My 7 day old Grandson is priceless. How much would you sell your Family for $1

Sadly how quickly they forget Before the Colonists got there they had rampant tribal War. North island Maori wiping Out the southern tribes. The North island Maori going to the Chatham islands and slaughtered the Mori Ori. And then the damn British Come and put a stop to it all.
Colonialism has not always been good but the Inter tribal war and Cannibalism was stopped.
We have a long way to go but tearing down Statues and pretending History never happened instead of telling the truth does not benefit anyone.

That's the spirit . Lets just try appeasement with the Chinese shall we. That has worked in the past. And it is not about Communist China. It is about a larger Country demanding Control of a smaller Country because there are a Chinese majority there. Shades of 1939. Taiwan was never a part of china. And like Vietnam and the rest of Indo China are not Serfs of their Giant Neighbour.

91% of Serious Injuries During Songkran Attributed to People Not Wearing Seat Belts

351,228 vehicles were stopped for inspection and 52,422 drivers face charges, including 15,467 cases of driving without a license and 15,144 cases of riding motorcycles without a crash helmet.
The official Statistics speak for themselves. No license to drive and Motorcyclists with no Helmet. As long as law Enforcement is on a whim You cannot reduce your Road toll. In Thailand the most obvious infringements of the Law is Lack of Helmets, overloading of Motorcycles, Underage riders. Motor Vehicles is overloading. Start with these the Road Toll will begin to reduce. Its what most other Countries have already done.
