  1. Has anyone tried the expensive buds? I've heard they're not thay great. Possibly due to growing techniques.
  2. The gay marriage law won't see 3,000 released from jail. This law is much more important and overdue .
  3. Agree totally, once so permissive, now so fearful. Hence we're here.
  4. In my 50s and also Australian, I remember what the police were like. Besides the brutality, they were also very corrupt, especially with the vice and drug squads. Definitely better now and Australia is a very safe place.
  5. Why are the cops so hell bent on stopping kids playing basketball that they need to beat them up. In Australia kids are welcome to use school grounds out of hours, they even leave the gates open. I think you come from an authoritarian country, possibly where carrying guns is common?
  6. The company involved in the 2013 drownings changed it's name and kept operating. No surprises here.
  7. The phone I bought yesterday isn't working properly, it won't read the SIM. I was clearly told if there was a problem within 7 days it would be replaced without problem. Now I'm told I have to go to Future Rangsit and jump through various hoops. I've already done a lot of calls and running round. The phone was 18k. I paid by credit card. What are my chances of doing a chargeback?
  8. The atmosphere will deal with it, this is how nature works. There is nothing you can do. Discussing it with your neighbors will not help.
  9. Generally they will do it in the morning or afternoon, best to have the washing sorted before.
  10. Sorry if OT, that house looks a simple and very practical design for this climate. Have you detailed the build or are there more pics that I can see?
  11. I used to compost or use all the leaves for mulch, but now I do burn some. If you have a lot of land sweeping, collecting and composting takes a lot of time. It releases smoke and CO2, but compost releases methane, which is worse. The smoke from the leaves chases away the mosquitoes, the fires and sweeping keeps it bare dirt, which is important to keep snakes, centipedes and other critters away.
  12. I wonder if any of the kids involved had been 'rescued' from child prostitution? Where will they be sent if they testify against the suspects?
  13. I think we have the same opinion on the Z symbol, I just don't understand why it's being discussed at length in the Pattaya sub forum.
  14. But does 'this fella' actually exist? We have six pages but Zero evidence? I have not seen any Russian with the symbol or any showing of support for Putin/the invasion. I like the way all everyone gets along in Thailand and hope this doesn't change. Hopefully Russians and other nationalities will not get carried away with nationalism here.
  15. This thread no longer has relevance to Pattaya or Thailand anymore and it seems posts disagreeing with the OP are no allowed. Why is the post still running?
  16. Neither have I. Maybe they are like many of us and don't bring their self righteous nationalism here. Possibly they enjoy living in a tolerant country where ppl get along and are it's not OK to force your opinions on others. Somewhere where's it's not OK to call someone an a**hole because of their passports.
  17. I have seen this with signs covered and thought how ridiculous it was and now that is not good enough. No wonder there are so many problems here.
  18. A staff member gave one months notice in writing, two weeks later, via text, my manager told her she could leave before the 30 days (because she was coming in late, leaving early, not really doing her job at all. The staff member did this and then went to the Labour Department claiming unfair dismissal. She is asking for less than 2 weeks back pay, however I don't want to give her anything on principal, and because it will set a precedent that could create a toxic atmosphere in the office. There's a hearing set shortly which we are required to attend. I've been told we can postpone twice. Is this true and if so how is it done? Any other advice is much appreciated. Are there lawyers who can handle this who are relatively expensive?
  19. You sound in a similar position to I was. A signed agreement has some weight, if she takes the cash now then when it runs out she won't have anything for a lawyer. Therefore it would be best if the agreement gave her further assets upon divorce. That way she'd still be keen to follow through. Thais can't plan and love instant gratification.
  20. I think you can get an agreement signed using a lawyer. While not legally water tight, if bad comes to worse you can use it in court. If you feel now is a good time and possibly have a verbal agreement, then putting it in writing is worthwhile.
  21. She would have been entitled to 50% of what they earned while together. When it's over it's over, if the ex doesn't feel a moral obligation then there isn't one.
  22. I've just received a fine for using the M Flow expressway system. My 17 yr old daughter thought she had registered, but she didn't complete the process, it's very difficult. I know when it first began M Flow fined ppl and then decided against it. They are asking for over 3,000B, 10x the actual cost. Considering that we'd began the registration process, I'm wondering if anyone can advice whether we can have the fine waived or reduced somehow? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
  23. Yes, 30 graves, 30 bodies or thereabouts, not 2,000. Mae Hong Song is by no means the closest border province. Do you have reliable sources for your claims? Such as Amnesty, UN, HR Watch etc. I think you should read up on it more.
