I guess I'll do a little more research. There are no warm clothes really; just normal warm-weather clothes.

So, I'm clearing out my wardrobe, and it seems that I will end up with bags and bags of clothes that I don't wear anymore.

Does anyone have any ideas for where I can take them? It would be a shame to throw them away. I live in A. Muang, so it would be great if anyone had ideas for places that are convenient.

I've often wondered about how to translate this into English. My dictionary also gives along the lines of 'to be disgusted' but I think that's a bit harsh. Most people usually use it more lightly.

The best I can come up with would be 'gross!', as used by (UK) teenagers.

Anybody regardless of his country of residence or citizenship can apply for a Thai visa anywhere there is a Thai embassy/consulate.

(OK. Seems some neighbours of Thailand, part of the "developing world", have unwritten policies to discriminate against non-nationals, like in Cambodia. But in the "first world", everybody should be fine).

I once tried to apply for a visa at the Thai embassy in Rome, as my father was resident there. They refused to help me as I am British and was not resident in Italy.

That's pretty much exactly what I heard on the news at the time.

You just tell the doctor that you would like to see an HIV specialist within the social security system - it's pretty routine.

I will try to get you the name of a doctor there. From what I remember, in the HIV clinic you don't actually make an appointment with a particular doctor - you just see which ever doctor is free.

Also, a doctor should be able to give contact details for the Thai Network of People Living with HIV (TNP+), who would have details of hostels etc. and provide excellent support.

To be treated by the doctors at Suan Dok, your friend needs to be referred there by their regular doctor at the hospital where they have registered their social security. Another place is McCormick, where your friend is able to register for social security by requesting to move from their old hospital. Does that make sense? Both have HIV clinics.

If you are renewing an expired passport (and you have the old one with you) and you are making your application in person, you don't need anyone to sign your photos.

Can anyone advise how long it currently takes to transfer from an international arrival to a domestic departure? Different airlines, so need to leave time for baggage collection/check in and immigration.

I imagine so - they said a holiday for civil servants and banks.

They just announced that tomorrow is a bank holiday while they get things sorted out.
