    Yes, Visa Exempt entering scheme should be abolished for most countries including France, China, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and some other countries. These are the countries most criminals and fugitives are coming from and finding a save heaven in Thailand! Extensive police record checks are required before allowing them to enter Thailand.

    Will there be another crackdown in Phuket and Pattaya on ILLEGAL visa extensions (ED visas and other NON-O visa extensions including those based on Retirement, Volunteer, etc.)? I wish there were, and this corruption scheme eradicated in Thailand.

    I have always believed that the controversial practice of visa conversion without exiting Thailand is illegal. Please correct me if I am wrong. Can anyone provide a reference to an official RTP document regulating this kind of visa conversion within Thailand without the need of exiting the Kingdom?

    Absolutely right! Hopefully all those illegally issued NON-O visas and visa extensions will be cancelled and those foreigners who bought those visas and visa extensions deported from Thailand and black listed!

All kinds of NON-O visas including NON-O Retirement and ED visa should not be available. If you want a Retirement Visa, you should apply for NON-OA in your country of citizenship. The same goes for ED visa.
