The alcoholics won't be happy with this one, there will be big problems from this.
Making people stay at home is one thing, preventing them from having a little drink while sitting in their home with absolutely nothing to do is something very different.
A quick trip to the neighboring province to stock up will solve this problem.
Or the back door at mom & dad supermarket.

For the first time in a long time me and the Mrs ventured into town, I haven't been down Beach rd in years, normally her indoors only gets as far as Big C Pattaya Klang.
What did we find ?
Beach rd is a mess, most bars & restaurants were empty at 3 pm, we drove along beach rd all the way to WS up to the lights and a left turn on to 2nd road all the way back to Naclua to meet with friends, I have never seen so many empty bars, or empty Baht buses, a Very sad story indeed, I can't see it getting better anytime soon, to be honest I'm glad I live on the dark side, to deal with that carp would destroy the strongest of people.
I bet the bath busses still manage to make traffic jam on beach rd. and 2.nd. road.
Even without customers and a max speed at 10-20 km/h.
It's just annoying how this BS is still allowed in Pattaya, but then again when the owners of 90% of the taxis are high ranking Police it's understandable.

I’ve just returned after two months, when trying to book a condo for later in the year the establishment wanted 500B a night more, definitely won’t happen, goodbye Pattaya
That's typical thai business strategi, when customers disappearing they increase the price to cover their losses.
Sadly some falang morons accept a 40-50% increase in room rates at empty hotels and condos.

Out of curiosity how much money did u loose on her already during the marriage?
I would take that loss into consideration of any more financial burden she tries to get u sucked into.
More impotently question: How much money will he keep on giving her in the future after the divorce is settled?
After what I understand she is still begging money from him after separating.
Too many "good samaritan" western gentlemen getting abused just because they don't understand that this is only business for many Thais.

Tourism officials are telling anyone and everyone that there’s never been a better time to visit Pattaya than now, but there are few indications anyone is listening.
Have "tourism officials" ever visited Pattaya?
If you want to get overpriced, extorted by corrupt cops, beaten up by motorcycle taxi drivers for no reason, mugged by lady-boys or ripped off at pubs and bars, and don't forget about the "jetski scammers"Pattaya is the right place for you.
Let's face it, Pattaya is NOT a holiday resort anymore, it's the worst $h!thole on this planet.

debts might not necessarily be of the official kind... when the Collector comes, they go for whoever is still around in sight...
too many scenarios... so maybe let's wait for OP to step foot over there, and see for real what the problem really is...
Make sure to bring a bodyguard if/when the debt collector shows up, things can get ugly if thai wife owes money and her husband refuse to pay.

My wife divorced at the ampure and got her former surname back without me present after 3 years separation.
I don't have a clue what she payed for this since I don't answer her calls or e-mails.
She had to get a written and confirmed reason for divorce done by som government official why she wanted divorce. I got a copy of this statement in my mailbox and it was full of lies and BS about me having an affair, beating her, not support her with money and so on.
She left me 7 years ago and I still live in the same house in Chonburi that I bough back in 2006 and we own together . (still waiting for a divorce lawyer showing up on my doorstep and claiming 50% of my assets.)

A lot more exciting then a nursing home in the UK.
Yes, you won't get stabbed multiple times in the head by the nurse or any other occupants back home.

In Udon Thani, not long time ago, I have witnessed a similar fight between a 78 year old Swiss man and a 60 year old French man. Both had been drinking beer ???? way too many at the morning already and started hitting each other with the glasses when one accused the other of having married a Bargirl decades ago... A bloodbath. I helped cleaning up. The Bargirl matter was true, by the way, but both denied that fact. Well, both also had an overstay of about 10 years, too, so the matter has been solved by immigration meanwhile.
Thanks for sharing what's happening in Udon Thani, two old guys fighting over a bar girl, but what has your story to do with this? Is there any links between them?

It happened to a friend of mine, luckily he could run....????
I have chosen to run several times during my 30 years living in Thailand when a thai "lady" pull a knife.
Why not fight back?
I don't fancy a prison cell at Bangkok Hilton.

The woman alleged the pair had been arguing before her husband attacked her with a knife.
Why would a big strong English male attack his wife with a knife?
It doesn't make any sense.
The other way around make totally sense.
Lets wait and see what the husband have to say on the matter.

What about the scam against his own country and the Thai citizens after he made a coup 22 May 2014?
Where is all the money and assets coming from? He claim that his parlament is clean as a whistle but what about himself?
"In his mandatory 4 September 2014 asset disclosure to the National Anti-Corruption Commission, the prime minister listed 128.6 million baht (US$3.9 million) in assets and 654,745 baht (US$20,000) in liabilities.[30][31] His assets included a Mercedes Benz S600L, a BMW 740Li series sedan, three additional vehicles, nine luxury watches valued at three million baht,[32] US$200,000 in jewellery, and several pistols.[33] He also reported the transfer of 466.5 million baht (US$14.3 million) to other family members. As army chief, prior to his retirement at the end of September, the general received a 1.4 million baht (US$43,000) annual salary"

And the other question where do you find Thai experienced drivers?
They don't exist, only maniacs behind the wheel in this country, proven by worlds highest death toll and motor vehicle accidents.
If you want to experience roadrage, just find any highway in Thailand and watch how thai drivers are racing each other and acting like they are formula 1 drivers on a racetrack.

Now they have hired the services of lawyer Khomsan Chemchoi who is looking into suing the housing estate and security company in an effort to get back the couple's lost money.
Good luck with suing the housing estate in Thailand, end of story they lose the case and lawyer get a huge fee from the Canadian.
As a foreigner in Thailand everybody wants your money and nobody gives a <deleted> about you when you ar broke.

Much as I dislike keeping large chunks of money in Thai banks, they are a lot safer than having 1,000,000 in the house in cash. One has to ask who else knew the money was there? Many burglaries are the result of inside information after all.
Thai wife's from foreigners like to bragging how rich she is to her thai friends and where the money is hidden, nothing new here, next story please.

The drug dealer goes to Bangkok Hilton for a very long time and somebody suddenly and unexpected get rich.
Drug dealers don't deposit money in banks or keep it in the house, they stash it somewhere on the island.

What a great proposal, another 2 more days to the water splashing mayhem in a country who already is lacking rain and water supply most of the year.
Thai government need more educated people and less morons if they want tourists to visit.

You would think if they were worried about him being sick they would have ran away. Not have gotten closer and exposed themselves to more of his body fluids.
They stole his headphones to be infected by the Corona virus who already was on the phones?
This was a pure and simple mugging and nothing else.
Forget about thai haters or racism, it happens in London every day as we speak.

Thai people crying "racism"? That's hilarious!!! Every government should single out Thai people and treat them equally to the way the Thai government treats foreigners. Every government should impose equal tariffs on products made in Thailand. Dual pricing for Thais and Thailand world wide!!!
You mean charge Thai nationals 3-4 times at national parks, zoo's, water parks and museums worldwide?
Rip them off at public and private hospitals.
Refuse them to buy land and house if they not marry an English citizen.
The list just goes on and on.
Can't imagine what kind of headlines this treatment against Thais would make in newspapers around the world.
