Been staying S Patts after many Jomtien trips.  Really eye opening.  Got a great hotel, better than the last Marriott I stayed at, for a song.  Not as close to the beach, but easy enough.

I am starting to think this is better long term.  Just seems more sophisticated.. and the girls are younger, too.  Of course, these are unusual times, and it would be much more different with thousands of our favorite tourists, be they Chinese, ME, Indian, American, or whomever..

So what was your thought process on choosing one over the other?

    Sheers!

    Does whomever include the Brits?

  2. Regarding a doctor, if in Pattaya, I suggest Pratya Jaratjitwilai , M.D. at Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital. Dr. Pratya works in the Orthopedic Center and specializes in the shoulder surgery and sports medicine.

  3. There are two types of arthritis, Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis. If osteoarthritis, a simple X Ray will show if you have it. Osteoarthritis is a wearing down of the cartilage between the bones of the shoulder joint.

Sometimes cortisone injections do relieve the pain for  months at a time.

Either you live with it or eventually get a shoulder joint replacement. I live with it!

There are also a number of other causes for shoulder pain and only a doctor can determine the cause.

Cool with Ice water Yes, Saline ??? how many people keep sterilised bottles of saline at home? Ordinary salt and water not a good idea.

I do! I have a couple of bottles of saline, just in case. A Thai friend insisted that I have saline solution.

I still have problems to understand what role these masks have if the number of infections is really as low as published. How can you spread something that isn’t there to begin with?

At first I was a sceptic of wearing a mask, but it seems the primary means of infection is via airborne transmission, then a mask makes a lot of sense.  It just takes one infected person to spread the virus which means we all should be wearing masks at least until such time as there are no more infections.

Thanks Joe. Yes, I meant March 2021. Too late to edit my OP.

Wondering if anyone here has followed the emergency procedures yet to get the EDPD.  How did it work out?

A friend recently  applied for and received his emergency passport from the USA Embassy.

He says it looks exactly like the normal passport except fewer pages. He also received a letter from the Embassy asking Thai Immigration  transfer any stamps from his existing passport to the new one. The new one is good for one year "from date of its issue." The Embassy said he would be notified when the Embassy would be renewing passports and he could return his emergency passport and receive the new one. Go to US Embassy website on procedure for requesting a passport. He said the Embassy letter to him was very polite.

The friend also included a letter to the Embassy giving details as to why  he needed the emergency passport to extend his retirement.
