Usually they go to Bali ,but Bali has clamped down on these foul mouthed bogans so maybe they have chosen thailand....I did think Phuket was more their style but the "bogans " I'm noticing are more middle aged to upper age Aussies who still want to look like teenagers
I can spot them a mile off , I don't even have to hear them speak ,I know they are Australian by their looks and rude ( angry) manners and scowl on their face .
I saw one yesterday in a sports bar and I didn't even have to know where he was from I knew ,mid 40's tattoos on his arms wearing short shorts , and Red Nike shoes ,trying to look like a teenager
He was being introduced to a couple of British guys also in their 50"s
Every second word out of this Aussies mouth was F...that...F ..this
Almost like all these Aussies have anger problems
I avoid these low class tattooed short wearing bogans who have attitude problems
If you walk into the Aussie bar in Soi Bukhao you will see nothing but scowls on their faces and every second word angry with F..that...f.. this
If you go into a British bar you will see them all smiling and cracking jokes
I don't like Australian people and yes unfortunately I am identified as Australian but in reality I should be Irish ,it's not my fault my great grandfather chose to go to Australia in the late 1800's , i would fit more into being Irish !!!!.
I was in my Airbnb yesterday laying on the banana lounge ,I saw three guys walking towards me all mid 40' s
They had that "look" , short shorts up to their arse ,no t shirts on , t shirts <deleted> into their back shorts hanging out ,.tattoos ,.
and red Nike shoes trying to look like gangsters , I knew they were Australian , as soon as I saw them ..
Scowls on their faces looking probably to fight someone
I wonder why there seems to be so many of these low class Aussie bogans holidaying in Pattaya ?
Is a there a bogan festival on?
Red Nike shoes festival ?

Be a realist please ,once your over 80 life is shorter
Time and time again I have had to tell people over this age group to plan ....I remember back in 1998 telling my late father to get his Will in order and that being 78 at that time he probably wouldn't be here in 10 years ( I was right )
We ended up in a shouting match with me before kicking me out of his house
It never never ceases to amaze me all those in denial about their life expectancy
And constant YouTube videos of elderly men in South East Asia who have passed with no will or instructions because at 80 they were in denial
Sorry to break the news but if your 80 the probality of you making 90 is not high
Sorry to tell you but it's reality!!!
So please ...make plans now and stop being in denial,
About 2 years ago I met a 82yo guy in a Pattaya bookshop cafe from the UK , he was going to buy a condo
I asked him why ....he said to live in it....I said mate ...your life is ending
Surely you must know
I said ,don't even buy a yearly lottery ticket at your age !!

So when i mentioned this to Thai friends, they said why did you not take a gift? i laughed but they were serious, so you think i should take a fruit basket this time trying to imagine myself in immiigration with a massive fruit basket, mmmm we meant a small gift like a pen will help.
Any way i am still mulling it over, but in a few months if you see someone sitting in immigration with a fruit basket you know who it is.
why offer an inducement when it is a paid for service!

If the child was small and wearing neutral clothing, she could have blended in with the road surface. None of the people calling for the stiff punishment of the driver, knows the full details of the event.
I do appreciate that Thai drivers are often selfish and pay no heed to crosswalks or traffic lights. However, keep in mind what happens if someone does stop: They can get rear ended or abused by other drivers. Not an excuse, but in a country where there is no consistent traffic law enforcement, this is the result.
the alleged driver is a teacher herself and should know there would be children at/on/near the school she was passing. Just look at the damage to her vehicle and the 'stopping distance from the point of impact' (i would guess 50 metres), making her speed at about 80kmph. The whole purpose of a Pedestrian Crossings livery is to give contrast to moving persons against the grey road surface. There is no excuse IMO.

It has been getting worse, mainly because of that very lack of enforcement. Drivers fear no one, and feel they can, and are entitled to do, whatever they want.
(The majority of Thais regard The Land Traffic Act as purely guidelines).

Dear RTP...of course there were 150,000+ offences that you counted, in fact there were probably 100X this number, as you will find as you venture tentatively into the world of moving traffic that we motorists/pedestrians have to negotiate each and every day!
Once you do get the hang of it you will find peace and safety will spread throughout the Kingdom and people will begin to put their trust back in you and appreciate you.
Happy New Year everyone.

South Korea's spy agency estimates that some 2,000 soldiers deployed by North Korea to fight for Russia have been killed.'
so now they're even shorter

Police suggest that the 69-year-old American man was found with his hands cuffed behind his back and his head covered with a black plastic bag, indicating the possibility of unconventional self-inflicted harm,
Huh? Houdini certainly might have been able to cuff his hands behind his back, but I don't think the average person could. I think that 99% of the police departments around the world would conclude foul play. Thailand is one of the few places in the world where the police would even suggest self-inflicted harm, and how much do you think that has to do with PR and tourism?
depending on one's stature, can quite easily cuff at the front and step through; however the photo shows it to be more of a full body plastic bag that is either taped, folded or tied.

Foreigners with permanent residency are required have their names put into a blue tabien baan. Foreigners on temporary extension of stay cannot and their option is to get the yellow one. If one has permanent residency and one's name is in a blue tabien baan, there's no need for a yellow one.
Im not going to comment any further..seems to be each Provincial Amphur Office has a different view on this..all i know is it works for me and my Pink Card and Yellow Book are for life. I also have an Usufruct, Proof of Ownership of my house on the land it rests, my name appears in the property owners Blue Book and i have a TRD Tax number which happens to be my Pink ID Card, and i am not married, nor am I a Permanent Resident.
