I looked at the list. Those are targeted positions and mostly managerial positions. I don't think they represent the average Thai, even those with degrees. Look on the list at what a teacher makes. How many Thais with an undergrad degree are working as salesgirls in department stores? I've met quite a few.
My wife's family don't earn 84k/month between 6 of them.

It's not a few baht...its 16 baht in my case...a drop from 54 to 38...that's 30%...30% increase in rent and food and everything I purchase...in just 3 short years. If you rely on a UK state pension - you're feeling the pinch!
Good post. Sums it up well.

Truevisions have secured the Premiership TV rights for Thailand for the next 3 seasons.
Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
They say it will be available on "all platforms"
So maybe they will have an online app for this ?

Coincidently this morning my wife asked me to contact my UK bank and ask what will be the situation regarding my four digit pin card when drawing cash here in Thailand? Perhaps an answer from here?
You can draw cash ffrom any atm using a UK card.
But you will be charged to your UK a/c for both the 220 baht atm fee and then by your own bank for a foreign transaction. HSBC do that, cost about 12.00 gbp combined.
That makes the fx rate even worse, but useful for an emergency.

So how does this 90 day rule with bank books apply to Agent-sourced visas ?
Or is this a silly question ?

I changed version to 60.6.1 and toggled on aboutconfig.
Firefox was telling me that my Avast antivirus was corrupt, and blocked all my saved passwords.

The problem isn't with the modem if it works fine for the PC and phones, but not for your Android box.
All worked ok until about 10 days ago. May have been the storms.
3bb checked yesterday and agreed to give me a new modem.
Android box working but my TV service still won't connect to any vod services. Live tv generally ok.
But this all worked ok , so now I've asked them to check the line.
-
I am having problems with my modem, it's a 3bb one on fibre.
Works ok for pc on ethernet and phones on wifi.
But for android box it hardly connects. Live tv ok after 2 "plaback errors" but drop out/freeze after 20 odd minutes.
Series and Movies I just get "playback error" and nothing.
Same on both ethernet and wifi.
Put my tv app onto another box (same make & spec) and had the same results using the second box on my modem.
Then took my box to a friend's modem and everything works ok. Same with his box.
So i'm pretty sure it's not the box at fault but the modem.
Before I disconnect and go to 3bb thought it worth calling them in case they can adjust modem settings. They were supposed to have called today but no sign.
Further complication is that the 3bb a/c is in my wife's name, so she would need to go to 3bb with me, which she is reluctant to.
She thinks that because I didn't get the box from 3bb (they don't sell boxes) they will not change the modem.
I told her that 3bb don't sell laptops or phones either so that argument is finished.
So would it be possible to get a 2nd modem and link to the existing fibre, so I could run the box off that ?
Any advice appreciated

Yes they are compulsory, at least on all courses around Pattaya.
And some courses have made it mandatory to have a buggy, even if you want to walk.
And you can't share them, one to a buggy so the caddy is your driver.
Try walking at courses that will allow it, after 3 or 4 holes the caddy will be lagging behind with a bad leg or "tired" hoping you will shell out for a cart.

Actually under the new rules not until October since the new rules only require the 800k baht to be in the bank for 2 months on the date you apply for the extension.
Thanks Joe -- confused as I thought the 2 months seasoning was for first-time applicants.
Has always been 3 months seasoning, or have I misunderstood the new directive ?

The new rules apply to applications made after March 1st. So you won’t need to maintain the 800K/400K until after December when your next years extension has been granted.
Thanks - so no need to top up my a/c until september
-
So now we have to have 400K minimum in a Thai bank, does this start from 1st March ?
My visa is due for renewal in December.
I need to have 800K in an a/c from 1st September.
But do I now need to have 400K between 1st March and 31st August ?
I realise that this will be the case next year, but does it also apply to this year ?

get a part pension paid from the UK into my account here, however it comes through the Bangkok bank branch in London (don't know if it's really a branch or more a service?). The pension service pay it into this account and it ends up in my bank account here, the only problem being it doesn't say anything about being an international transfer!
Maybe because it's being sent from BKK Bank so it's considered an internal transfer, even though it's going from the UK to Thailand.

right, thanks - I know fine little about golf - I have a friend from Finland who is a very keen golfer
(handicap 17 - think that is OK for an amateur)
anyway, workwise we travel the world, all over
sometimes I join him on the course - just as an companion
he has 3 clubs/sticks which folds / contracts and fit in his suitcase
typical, in Thailand - pay fee - pay for caddie if required
then he talks with caddie; you want tip? caddie; yes
ok, here is 200 - I and my friend go to field, you stay here - I do not want to see you on the field
caprice? yes, ok here is 200 - bye bye
You will find that ALL courses around Pattaya have compulsory caddies, whether you want them or not. And the course charges 350 bt, of which the caddy gets anything fom 50 to 200 bt depending on the course. Then you are expected to tip the caddy afterwards, most courses at least 300 bt so the whole caddy cost is 650 bt.

Driving License for ASEAN citizen?

On the other side of the coin, is it legal to drive in other ASEAN countries using a Thai licence ?
