I thought that there was only Phlitaluang course in that area ...what others are there please?

The 3 courses at Sattahip are Fleet (on the coast via the lighthouse on Sukhumvit), Marine and a relatively new course AC/DC which is a little way Fleet on the same coast road.

All 3 will cost no more than 450 baht sharing a buggy, half that if you walk. No caddies.

  2. "Cheap" golf is long gone. especially with the punitive exchange rates.

Most courses around Pattaya now charge 700 bt for a compulsory single-use cart which makes the caddy the driver. So the caddy @ 350 bt plus tip has to only sit in the cart. How is that worth a tip when you've had to pay nearly 20 gbp for a cart that you didn't want ? I know it's not the caddy's fault, but try seeing what he/she does if you are able to walk a course - tired, need rest etc anything to make you buy a cart.

During high season it's hard to play a course for less than 2.5k including gf, caddy, cart and tip.

No wonder the Navy courses around Sattahip are busy.

The only support she has now is probably from her husband.  A total disaster from the time she took over.

She had little choice, it wouldn't matter who is in charge.

The referendum result is binding and she is obliged to get us out of the EU, whether she personally agrees with it or not.

Perhaps the Brexiteers could detail the fine points about leaving, which they voted for.+

  4. I contacted DAZN (Canada) who own the rights for CL games in Thailand, asking why it was not available on Thai tv.

They flatly denied owning the rights, so no chance of mainstream tv getting a sniff.

So it's the convoluted process to get goal.com working - but is this subscription-based ?

But according to Uefa, DAZN own the rights.

  5. HDPrime has also become unwatchable.

Live tv lasts no more than 8 seconds before buffering.

Tried changing to all the available server options, no difference.

Especially annoying when watching live sport.

So far I've sent 2 e-mails to them, still awaiting the courtesy of a reply.

There are several including IPTV and HDPrime. If you want to know more then PM me.

HDPrime has had recent problems, loads of buffering etc.

Plenty of free iptv out there, or use Kodi

I'll be giving up the True footy package, and when I do I'll tell them that suddenly withdrawing Champions League matches is like going into a restaurant and then have them come and remove a part of the meal from your plate, with no compensation. Fortunately I have alternative means for watching the matches.

    Please share your options

Nobody will boycott the course and they will not miss you either. Thailand is not the only place where golf courses require caddies.

If motivated enough a large group of golfers could make a difference it happened with Pattaya Country Club which was charging too much. Of course beer, women and the heat people lose motivation

Pattaya Country Club is still charging too much.

It's on Pattaya's doorstep, yet most travel 40 minutes up the 331 to one of three courses instead

The whole price of golf here is madness.

I have played at courses in St Andrews which are truly fantastic for little more than I payed recently at Muang Kaew for a bang average course.

Over the last few years, the "high season" rates are hardly reduced whenever "low season" starts, then another hike for the next "high season".

Even the clubhouse restaurants are getting pricey, with some asking ++ on top.

Many courses starting to price out many expats who would like to play year-round, the courses are all hoping for an influx of Koreans to pay top-dollar.

The quote you referenced was about "compulsory" carts. Nothing to do with sharing.

Played Pattavia today - almost empty this morning and a bit busier later afternoon. Greenwood on Monday had a total of 17 golfers booked to play plus 2 walk ins and was the same price as Pattavia.

Not sure how often you play but very few courses at the moment are "usually busy most days".............?

You want cheapest have you tried Kings Naga?

I play 2 or 3 times a month now, mainly due to the financial chaos caused by the Brexit vote.

Pattavia we get a good deal as our group plays there every week. Less than Greenwood.

It seems to be busy when we finish ie after 1pm, I think there is a deal on for pm tee-offs.

Playing at Greenwood this week, the carts are not compulsory but are only 300 baht more than walking on Thursdays as it's sports day. Still 1350 + caddy tip + transport so @2K baht before you factor in food/drink afterwards.

Rubbish - only if you play the more expensive courses.

I play 2-3 times per week and hardly ever take a cart/buggy.

Interestingly in Hua Hin neither Black Mountain, Banyan or Springfield have compulsory carts........

I don't know about Hua Hin courses. As far as I know, around Pattaya the only courses that allow shared carts are Plutaluang and Pattavia. A couple of others allow shared carts but charge extra for the privilege.

And Plutaluang & Pattavia offer the lowest green fees as well -- result is they are usually busy most days.

Dude, why are you even making an issue about this.................? It's 300 baht <deleted>; they're fun, they add a bit of softness to the round. Move on. Typical old geezer golfer looking for a problem for his solution.

A caddy at most courses is 350 bt plus compulsory tip of at least 300 bt = 650 bt (15 GBP) that you shouldn't have to be paying if you don't want a caddy. Most courses are now compulsory buggy so the caddy is just a driver.

Tourists like having a caddy as a novelty, money better spent elsewhere.

Its 2000-3000 baht a round including green fee, caddy fee, compulsory caddy tip, transport, bet. 3 times a week which is normal comes to 300,000-450,000 baht a year (£7000-£11000).

A lot of guys don't realise how much it all adds up.

Caddy 650+ baht (£15+) every time you play, i doubt anyone would swallow that back in the UK

Our group in Pattaya (20+ players) used to play twice a week.

With all the hidden costs like caddy tip etc we now play twice a month
