Prediction: "Security" guards will be checking the underside (but never the interior) of all cars which will cause a nice long slow queue.

My favorite part is when clear CCTV backs up the accused's defence.

I am assuming that you are not talking about Cebu city itself. If you have not been there yourself, don't trust the internet, it's not a nice place. can't talk about Davao, but Cebu city was more recommended than Davao back then and, no.

 

Tired of Thailand after 13 years. Tired of speaking Thai. I can't be anywhere too underdeveloped nor overly developed. I think Cebu City is the right mix. Some very nice ladies there too. I'm tired of Thailand. End of.

Thais are very spoiled. Tourism has always been steady and it's now increasing with Asians. That's why people are so nice in the Philippines. They only wish they had half of what Thailand gets without even trying.

Same same on Wongamat. One of the vendors was caught on cam telling tourists they cannot sit on the sand for free. Although I do miss the seats, at least the vendors have been punished (although the public is being punished too).

The cop probably darted out into traffic to catch them and got smacked.

Many Pattaya Thais are from other provinces so there's no regional pride towards the city or the people (including you) so that's annoying. Most Thais here behave like a--holes.

Helmut's band playing style is very samey. Nothing extraordinary but they are crowd pleasers and get a lot of gigs.

This American restaurant is on the 2nd floor at The Avenue. Former tenants were Shenanigans and The Acorn. Both failed miserably as the eye seldom looks up to the 2nd floor with so much activity on 1st floor. I wish the band and restaurant all the best in their partnership.

Amazing Thailand.

Seen Thai men smoking in the temples. Don't believe the farce of wearing amulets and strings. They are aggressive everywhere. 

I feel how you feel. My plans are to turn my back on Thai for 1 year minimum as of next month. Try a few highly recommended cities (by long term expats) in Philippines such as Davao & Cebu. Developed, cosmopolitan, and some very nice ladies. The men are no different than Thai men but at least they speak English although I'm a ladies man. Time will tell....

I also wish to hire a team of Filipinos so may as well go to the source rather than hiring the limited Thai based Filipinos.

Snowman is very "samey." Same tunes with the same arrangements over and over.

If so, 30+ years is a long time. I grew out of it after high school....

Overstay = Visa expired. Doesn't make anyone really bad. No need to get all hot and bothered over this. You pay = visa not expired. I don't care about other people's buying power (or visa in this case). 

RIP. I hope his decision wasn't related to the traffic!
