  1. This the norm for most if not all Thai Bank, over my many years in Thailand I have always experience this, somebody got to pay the processing charging, the bank not that's for sure so that only leaves us the in USER to bite the bullets, grin and bear it. :):D

  2. I am taking my gal back to the Philippines soon and we want to buy a gift for her sister. I live out in the sticks and our local Robinson sells name-brand Japanese watches like Seiko and Citizen, but the prices are laughable. They cost double what I would pay in the USA.

I know that Both Siam Paragon and Central Department Store have huge watch selections, but how are the prices? Is there any other place in town where I can get closer to prices back home? We are somewhat flexible on brand name, but don't want to dip down into the Timex/Casio level. Something very durable would be nice.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!!!!!

Lot should depend on the class of the sister if she is like my wife's sister a Timex/Casio would be just fine, NUFF said :):D

  3. There are people get sick from the flu for sure, however in the this case it might be "I see I do" you see many Thai people wearing the face Mask, so many local will do like wise. My opinion H1N1 is a serious strains of the Flu World wide, but no mass deaths from it yet, a few case here and there, is possible why not many farangs seem to concern. If I recall correctly there was a man in Hong Kong that had made a recovery from this Flu.(?) :)

  4. My two baht worth, the ONLY danger without a driver's License is getting caught, if :yohan:you are a good driver I would rather be on the road with you than with some of these nuts with a license :D Day in and day out as I go about my daily routine driving here and there with license in pocket/insurance sticker on car and watch some 10 year old on his motorbike whiz by a break neck speed, no helmet, a driver's license, yeah right DONKEYs can FLY :D:D police never seem to be around, even seen some of them with no helmet, guess they figure on duty so if they fall no injures, yep more Donkeys Flying :):D

  5. Or maybe people should just take note of the warnings and flags that are on the beach, the warnings are made quite clear and I'd hazard a guess that all 4 who died could read English and/or Thai.

    Just a thought like

Concur, bottom line you must take responsibility for your own safety, no matter how many signs, flags and even lifeguards there are is someone is a hard(hot) head, won't listen/read there will be accidents and death. Sad and true.

  7. Yes there is a building code, however; like the no smoking/helmet law it to is not Enforce. You can complaint to the local Tabmon Land Office at your on RISK. If I recall correctly from my conversation with the developer that build my house seven years ago this indeed a breach of the building Reg(I think he told at that time it must be 2.5 Metre)(?) :)

  8. Gee it must be nice to be rich. I say buy it Mr Thaksin, buy now and charter an airline to transport all your red shirts followers there, no doubt what so ever Thailand would be a much better place without them, just think no problems with those old yellow shirts or anyone else that think they can do a better job then you. :)

  9. Sure do sound good on the surface, let's hope that the funds are indeed use as plan and not be a spinoff for other things, many many young kid in rural Thailand/Isan area can't afford school, must work, sell flowers with mom at local market to put rice on the table, these folks can't afford, school uniforms, books, pen paper and other school supplies, this money if use properly should be directed as such need, I hope the people in charge will do just that but I would bet on it, there will be a zillions excuse why the money isn't spent for this. :D:) sure hope I'm wrong on this one.
