Just did my 90 day report in person at Chon Buri. Only needed passport and last report receipt.

I try to catch them on the floor, trapping them under the bottom of my coffee cup. The bottom is concave so there is room under there for the little bugger. Then I fill the cup with boiling water. It will usually be 6 months before i see another.

Thanks. I know that your suggestion is a good one. The problem though is that I just last week got certificates to renew my licenses. The girl at counter 9 knows who I am.Just tell them you want the certificate of residence to get a driving license, the reason is not stated on the certificate of residence itself (unless jomtien has a special version of it), so you can use it for whatever you want.

Tanoshi, you need the residency certificate to do what you are suggesting. That is the problem. There is no point in going to DLT without the residency certificate. You should do the change of registration between the buyer and seller at the DLT to avoid problems.

Yes!!! You totally get my point. I don't knòw whether or not the certificate identifies it's specific use or whether they're generic. The application requires that you indicate the intended purpose of the cert.I certainly wouldn't hand over the original greenbook if I was selling without the full purchase price or very large deposit...do they insert reg details on the residence letter?....a residence letter is just that...to show where you reside, no more and no less...regardless what it is required for...mine didnt include driving license anywhere just stated pp number, and address

Hey buddy. I'm feeling your pain too trying to get a res. cert. to buy a bike. Pure B.S. They invent requirements just to make life difficult, change them and provide no platform or forum to announce the changes. Small wonder this country doesn't move forward.

Haha. Yes, I just did the same thing a week ago for DL renewal and had no issues. It's the bike purchase that has different requirements. Ugggg.

It's just nutty that I have to go to ThaiVisa to find info on this sort of thing. This country would do well by providing simple, useful information on a website that informs us on requirements. Quite remarkable that Thailand is so lacking in that regard.

Residency cert. for buying a motorcycle????
Was just at Jomtien Immigration to obtain a residency certificate in order to purchase a motorcycle. They demanded to see the green book, photocopies of the owners passport, stamps etc and bill of sale. Doesn't sound right to me. Anybody have/had the same experience??

Hi all. This is Randy99, aka Randizzle. I'm the one that started the topic/thread and amusingly, it seems to have been hijacked. Doesn't matter. My bank, here in Victoria is going to cough up a letter that "guarantees" that the certified bank statement that they previously produced is genuine and reflects my current financial situation. So,,,,,,,, I believe all is good. I am in fact dealing with the Thai Consulate in Vancouver who one respondent described as quite helpful and I think reasonable. Cheers to all who've taken the time to respond. You're efforts are appreciated and helpful.

I've downloaded, from the Vancouver Thai Consulate the set of requirements for applying for a one year, multiple entry, Retirement Visa. I've acquired a bank statement, signed by an officer of the bank to prove my financial assets. One other requirement is: "Any bank statements require a letter of guarantee from the bank". Does anyone know what this letter of guarantee is? What is it supposed to guarantee? The requirement seems rather vague.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
Randizzle.

Thank you all for providing such thoughtful replies. The fog is gone. Nice to know that there are so many helpful folks around. I hope I can do the same for some of you in the future.
Warm Regards, Randy

Head is swimming. Very confusing this Visa stuff. I'm in Canada, leaving for LOS on Sept. 29/16. Retired and wanting to stay in LOS, Chiang Rai for a year minimum. Can meet financial requirements. Want to apply for Visa here in Canada. Can someone tell me exactly what visa I need to apply for? Thanks in advance.
