That's what I thought. You could have called me "Skeptical of Ratchayothin" before I started looking more deeply at the overwhelming evidence.
I even just went to check that the front door was firmly bolted.

It's a lovely clear day in Ratchayothin, northern Bangkok, today. The birds are tweeting merrily in the luxuriant trees, the happy population are going about their merry way, the distant rumble of the pristine new sky train assures us of progress, and the local school children, including my own, are gamboling outside gleefully before further important lessons are imparted.
All is wonderful in paradise.

Ah it is now starting to make sense. Remember the talk about "person of influence". Reports are saying that daddy is a policeman and it might even have been his gun. Mummy was a teacher.
I thought during the investigation that the police knew the person, or had strong suspicions, well before they found him. But they had to make sure they had plenty on him before they went public.
I reckon that they found his getaway bike dumped in a klong. There is a lot of smoke and mirrors still.
This guy is indeed from an influential family. Lots of his posts and pictures speak money.

Nothing like cheese made in the tropics. Exquisite bacterial yields.
My, you are having a grumpy day!
But isn't cheese all about bacterias?

The kung has gotten worse in the last few years. I think the fresh ones are shipped to China. Moo might be good for you, free antibiotics.
Got any other positives? I sort of have a skeet shooting mood today.
Yes, I discovered some great Thai made mozzarella at Villa. Mrs R made some top notch lasagna out of it.
The positives just keep on coming.

Doomed already. Political instability, ridiculously strong currency, poor safety record, rubbish everywhere, no gun control, corruption is rife, running out of water, poor infrastructure, little concept of customer care, Chinese zero dollar tours and the back up to falling Chinese tourism? Indian. Well I guess they've tried the cowboys they may as well give the Indian's a go.
I see where you're coming from.
On the plus side there is great Tom Yam Kung and Krapao Moo.

British news publication The Sun comparing the alleged killer with notorious US serial killer Ted Bundy.
Methinks Apichai is unlikely to mount his own defence in court.
Likening him to Bundy is absurd along with with a large amount of other palpable nonsense in The Sun.

This man is a very dangerous person. The fact that he has enjoyed the wealth from his family background has helped him in his endeavors.
A serial killer - devious, relentless, remorseless. Must NEVER see the light of day.

I am inclined to agree with you.
But yesterday at Villa they had stopped the McVitie's chocolate digestive promotion. All downhill after that.....

Bless! The Sun even mentions that he appeared on Corrie (Coronation Street) and Hollyoaks!
Anyone giving the remotest credence to this drivel should realize that the British Press has taken up the mantle of generally being utter garbage, previously held by the USA supermarket tabloids.
Another classic line is this one:
“Anyone travelling to Asia I would say to you, get a mask. Everyone here is wearing masks, there are people coughing everywhere"
Methinks there might be other reasons why people are wearing masks here!

I will inform them about this and next time we'll meet them in Singapore where the air is much cleaner, safety much better, prices lower and no corrupt police.....bye bye Thailand!
Take plenty of M-150. It will help you stay awake in Singapore.

Does that reduce the original crime in any way? He only did so as he was blatantly shown up by a camera.
He could argue that he picked it up in error then realizing his mistake took it back. There is no crime.

He took it back. Try prosecuting somebody for that.

It's been scientifically proven that the grass in the US of A is 17.3% greener than Thailand.

I'm assuming you meant 'the bottom of their beer bottles contained in those ghastly holders'?
In that case I too must be described as a snob, as I just can't drink directly out of a bottle, For me I end up swallowing the gas in the liquid too - whether it's beer or pop. A glass is so much more practical in my opinion.
Yes, I'm clearly getting my bottles and my glasses all mixed up. Looks like Chiang Mai and the dementia farm for me. The children have always said when they are rich enough that is my "fate".

I wish I could agree with you on that one, but my experience is the opposite.
Three or four years ago I was coming out of the house and heard the crash of a collision.
As I carried on walking out to the road and a hundred yards to the local shop, I could see a pick-up parked outside the shop. The driver's door was bend forwards 180 degrees. Laying on the road was a motorbike and the rider.
Perhaps in Bangkok it's different, but in Udon I regularly see people walking from a roadside shop with their purchase, 'flinging' the driver's door open without looking to see if there's any approaching traffic.
Hence my earlier post about giving any non-moving vehicle two metres space to avoid the 'door-throwers' ignoring oncoming motorbikes.
I don't know why, but one of the most common 'offenders' are ice delivery truck drivers for some reason.
A few months ago when I was out bicycling, a woman driver sitting in her car opened her door slowly looking to the rear, saw me approaching, smiled and closed the door until I'd gone passed. That was nice.
You can't compare the countryside to Bangkok. People are more aware of their surroundings in the capital. When I go upcountry I am prepared for the sheer madness. All the bad driving I witness is outside Bangkok where there are fewer accidents than almost anywhere in Thailand.

My experience is that most Thais are very aware of opening car doors. They are accustomed to motorcycles everywhere and neither want their cars damaged nor to hurt others.
I am particularly careful, however, when on my bikes in tourist areas passing taxis.

Besides I always smell the roses.
