I am guessing you were in the original court to hear the evidence, at the first appeal to Victorian Appeals Court and the High Court of Australia to here the appeal?
If not what does Australia or the High Court Justices have to be hanging their collective heads for?
Australian apologist alert.

You look at this and start to understand why Australia is kicking all the foreigners out. What I'd like to know whether they were fined 40,000 baht and jailed for 2 years?
Great...time the Aborigines were put back in charge.

What an absolute disgrace.
Australia, hang your head in shame.

I feared this was coming.
For us - with a four year old (next month) and a seven year old at Thai school. Five weeks in....ten to go (hopefully!). We have a few tricks up our collective sleeves and are doing ok.
But it's tough. If only they would open the pool. And please no 24 hr curfew...pretty please!
This morning my seven year old came in with a mask made out of kitchen paper towel, stables and rubber bands. She's been watching YouTube...surprise surprise!
These virus times!

It can be a worrying time.
In normal times it would just be the relatively simple matter of packing them off to Blighty for "readjustment training". It worked with my daughter who has picked up the correct accent and a host of unsavory terms on the trading floors at Canary Wharf. Fortunately not "Saarf London" as I would prefer American to my own tongue.
In these virus times you might need to find an appropriate "finishing school" locally to round off those yankee rough edges ????

I found it amazing when I went to India that they didn't have coke.

Your kitty missing, checked the tread of my Pirellis
That made me laugh.
It is time that a thread like this is completely high-jacked by something as spurious as listing the ten most kind things done by Britons (or any other nationality come to that) since the second world war.
Isolation games I keep getting, and ignoring on Facebook reminding me of this.

The Spaghetti Tree!????
Decimal days & weeks etc etc!????I was pleased with my banning of "Connect Four"" in Pattaya a couple of years back.
I always have believed strongly in getting a sucker, and we entrapped a few that day.
Though the point has to be that such an April Fool as that has a lot of basis in fact in Thailand and besides, any reasonable person reading Thaivisa on a daily basis is often obliged to glance at their calendar to make sure if it is actually September or June.

Reported in Sanook on April 1st!!!????
I'm aware of that! Hardly a day when you expect journalists to be unaware!
Read TWTW on Sunday for more comments about April Fools.

But we might go Tropo
Blimey, you can't have been here very long! I went TIT ("Troppo in Thailand") in the 1980's.
Helps me get through any crisis, especially the current quite minor one ????

Steady now Rooster, your halo might slip down and choke you.
It already has actually - the nippers use it as a makeshift hula hoop.
Hours of family fun.
BTW - how are you doing in "isolation"! Probably like me it is quite similar to 'normal' life!! Hope you are getting on well with the missus!

Can just imagine the conversations in the cells, one Brit to another:
"Yeh, but I told you putting 1,000 decibels on the ghetto blaster was a dumb idea, innit".
"Yeh, but no but, iss Ok in Essex, innit".

Why not just give up alcohol?
It's almost as bad as cigarettes for health; so many people posting could come out of this crisis on the other side with better all round health.
Try it, a life free of being a slave to beer and spirits is a better life.

The politics of coronavirus make herd immunity non-viable. As the UK discovered.
The response to the pandemic is being controlled by politicians who are trying desperately to hoodwink the public into believing they are following science.

I was always one who thought that Pattaya was a great place to take my growing families. I stopped going because of the noise and smell of diesel fumes from tour buses. But if the tour groups are not back and it's still relatively quiet I will be one of the first to spend weekends there again when this is all over.
Pattaya is family friendly with all the great attractions. And no, I haven't been hired to say that by the TAT!

Mrs R goes ape when I shave my head and threatened to cut off conjugal relations if I did the same during the lock down. We compromised by her cutting my hair with scissors (those cheap clippers I bought had already clapped out).
To be fair she did a good job even if it is hard to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. And my little children enjoyed seeing daddy and mummy laughing rather than arguing!!
And hey I saved 80 baht! Win-win on my regular guy in the next soi.

Yea sounds a bit fishy, maybe it was just two 0.3 persons? Or possibly a man-dog hybrid, a Mog?
I remember a headline in one of the UK papers years ago that stated that 2.1 Africans were starving.
Then I had a screenshot from Sky that said 2.5 people listened to the Pope's Easter message.

Just as well I did'nt make my flight on 23rd. Would be be stuck there as the world locks down. But seriously, when Spain, Italy, etc suffer huge numbers of deaths, what are the real numbers in Thailand ?
That is a bit like asking how long is a piece of string, or how much is a face mask?

No admission that this virus insult to our lives might last longer than you thought or was a bit more chewy than you claimed prior.
I wonder how poetic the prose if that skyline loft resembles a prison in lockdown after a few to many cases hit a few of skylines? Yes it's nice that the greed it shinning to all now even the R. Let hope we get to save a paper soon topic our latest vocab lesson!
